Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Room and comfortable bed. Room was clean but lacking in size and features. Would have been nice to have a king size bed, a real closet vs. a wardrobe, sitting area for guests, an actual bathroom vs. having the sink in the same space as the room and an elevator would have been convenient. Carrying a suitcase filled with a weeks worth of clothes can be extremely heavy. Night clerk wasn't very friendly, it appeared that she didn't want to be there. January 15, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised in Bartstow My wife and I stopped at this property on our way home from a wedding in Phoenix. Even though we had never stayed here before, we felt the HI Express brand indicated we would have a comfortable experience. The reality was a very awful experience! The hotel is located next to a very large and active train switching yard which operates around the clock. The 1st clue we had about this was when driving around to the rear of the building to access our room There was a continuous metallic screeching. It would have been nice if the person in check-in had warned us about this as we would have decided to find another hotel. I did not get much sleep that night. The other major issue was the cable box did not work so we could not view any tv that evening. The cable was not actually even connected to the cable box which meant to me that someone on the staff actually knew of the problem and just tryed to cover it up. We will never ever stay there again. Next time I guess I need to ask more questions before checking in. November 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good dollar value on Historic Route 66 Well it's not one of the biggest but good dollar value. However, some things to note: 1. They allow smoking in the lower level rooms that makes it's way upstairs especially in hallway. 2. Bring some foamy ear plugs as the property is right beside the main train tracks and lots of "squeaking steel-on-steel" occurs throughout the night. 3. On the "brighter side" they are close to lots of great 'Local Restaurants' that provide great food at very, very reasonable prices; and the staff are friendly as well. October 18, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Could be better No refrigerator in room, no bathtub, just a shower, and an awkward bathroom door. Awful railroad noise but that must be true in all of Barstow--they do offer earplugs and those worked fine, no sleep lost. Good exercise room. Staff does the best they can with the property and their attitude is great--it does make a difference. October 13, 2012
