We live in a world based on value. This hotel is in need of some upgrades if the hotel brand wants to remain consistent with itself. This particular Holiday Inn Express was the most expensive HIE that I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in several hundred# and was by far the worst value comparitively. I assume that the price is so high because it's in the middle of nowhere, but to me #a platinum priority club member) the price should be based on what you get...not just simply because there's nothing else around. I travel all over the country and try to stay in a Holiday Inn Express whenever possible. However, the next time I am in Barstow overnight I will be staying somewhere else.

We have been staying exclusively at the HI brands for several years. There is a standard that we have come to expect, and two items made this less than we had hoped. First, the staff, the facility itself is as we would hope. No issues at all. But, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, not at all what we normally see at the Holiday Inn brands.
The breakfast was only average, the disappointment being a dry almost stale cinnamon roll.
That makes the "value" at best average.

Actually, location is made more fabulous by the Tanger Outlets, but for my business work on Fort Irwin, it is as convenient as possible for the area. My only complaint is that I will not accept a room right next to the stairs...too much traffic and noise. But the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.

This stay was for business and after working some very long days it was nice to come back to the hotel and be greeted by the friendly front desk staff who always had bottled water available for me as priority club member. The room was comfortable and the wireless Internet access made it easy to complete and file my daily reports with the home office. I will definitely stay at this property the next time I need to come to this area for work or pleasure.

This place is awesome. We have many options when visiting Barstow, but always choose to stay here. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. One of the most important things we look for while we travel is clean and comfortable bed. This place has both.
The hotel recently completed a renovation to the lobby and guest room floors, which gives a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
We always choose Holiday Inn Express for it cleanliness and value.

We stayed here for an overnight stay on our way to see the Calico Ghost Town. The two ladies that staffed the front desk were very helpful, and went our of their way to help us feel at home. The room was beautiful, and the beds were extremely comfortable - so much so, that we even slept in a little later than usual. Their evening "social hour" was well attended as they offered fresh soup with crackers, and a deli-style spread that was an amazing sight for my family because we didn't have to go out to grab a bite to eat in an unfamiliar town. Their breakfast buffet was varied and fresh, and there was ample food for everyone there. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

My stay was great other than the internet. They advertise High Speed Internet, but it was more like dial up. I tried both wireless and using the CAT5 cable, neither of them were any good. It would take a min or so to load a basic page.
Aside from the internet, my stay was great. Great staff and great accommodations. The breakfast was good and they have a great pool area.

Have been staying here for the past few weeks for a few days every week. Staff is friendly and always greets you with a warm smile. On duty manager is engaged, front desk personnel are ver efficient and knowledgeable.
Breakfast is above what is normally expected. Short of making eggs to order they offer enough to fill your belly. The ladies who work the breakfast room are very friendly and greet you upon entering.
Rooms are comfortable and well maintained.
Would definetly recommend this hotel and will continue to stay here.
