Arrived 2.pm on 28th May, nice welcome. Pleasantly surprised by quality of hotel and room after having stayed in an express several years ago, which was quite basic. Beds were extremely comfy and room was quiet, no banging doors. Good choice of breakfast and nice waterside walk into centre. Stayed 2 nights and parked until late afternoon on departure day. All in all an excellent break. Would happily stay here again.

very warm welcome when we arrived the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable with choice of soft or firm pillows, shower was lovely and hot and stayed hot.
breakfast was brilliant with choices of hot and cold I had a cooked breakfast and the scrambled egg was fantastic.
I will always look to a holiday inn express first where ever I go, the only down side was the hot room but there was air conditioning in the room which you can turn on and have hot or cold or on/off the hotel is only a five to ten minute walk to the centre an absolute 5 star hotel in a great location

Stayed one night Easter weekend in room for 2, small but comfortable, everything clean and well-kept. Our room overlooked busy Lower Bristol Rd, but the traffic didn't keep us awake. Breakfast busy but adequate. Helpful staff had lots of suggestions for nearby restaurants and gave us directions to next hotel although it was with a different chain. Parking a plus, even with daily fee; on checkout day, car can stay in lot til afternoon (maybe 4?). Quick walk into central Bath. Large supermarket nearby. Would stay again definitely.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Bookings not accurate, heating in room not working and breakfast disorganised
We were not impressed with the management of this hotel. Receptionist had great attitude and did what she could, but the rooms were not set up for children, and they had been booked. The heating in the room was not working and the dishwasher broke down at breakfast which caused a lot of chaos and waiting for cutlery and any breakfast.

As most Holiday Inns, the room was clean and comfortable. Having been out for the day we arrived back to the hotel at approx. 6pm and was unable to park in blue badge spaces as they were full. On closer inspection, blue badges were not on display in all windscreens.
On Sunday morning, we arrived for breakfast at 10.00 which finished at 11.00 to find that they had already run out of some items like yogurt and fruit.
Other than that good if not a little expensive.

Arriving at the hotel at check-in time for a birthday trip, we were greeted by 2 very friendly receptionists. Apologising, one of the girls advised our room would not be ready for approx. 20 mins and asked if we would accept a complimentary drink from the bar? A very large glass of wine was poured for us and we joked what a great way to start a birthday celebration, leading to another complimentary glass being offered! As we were setting off to look around the city, we declined ..hic! The staff were so apologetic, friendly and efficient, they are an asset to your company. The room and breakfast were very good and the hotel is in an excellent location for all the city attractions. We took a shortcut as previously posted, past Sainsbury's across the road, making the walk about 10minutes to the Roman Baths etc. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Bath

Stayed for a weekend visiting our daughter at University. Brilliant location just a 10 minute flat walk into town and 10 minutes also to the Royal Crescent and parks. The parking was a brilliant bonus.
Hotel was nice and clean, staff were very friendly. The hotel was very busy, but we had a nice room, tucked away and were undisburbed by other visitors. The cost for the weekend I thought was expensive but on looking at other hotels and B&B's in Bath it was competitive, Bath is just an expensive place to stay at the weekend. Will definitely return, infact we are already booked to go back in June!

We stayed a night with 3 young children. We were very surprised that the room was exceptionally clean. The parking fee is £6 which is reasonable. Not many breakfast choices, but the basics are there. It's better than nothing :) Plus value for money.

Our room was on the ground floor, reasonable standard of cleanliness! However all through the night was a constant noise of a door banging. We spoke to reception staff in the morning and told it was the staff preparing for the next day no apology was given only told that the next time we stayed they would ensure we weren't put in a room on the ground floor!!!

If you are in Bath for tourist reasons then, this hotel may be fine for you.
I booked it for business.
After a 5 hour drive I arrived to find no parking, as the carpark is small in relation to the amount of rooms in the hotel, apparently.
I had to park on a street, knowing I would have to move my car at 8am as the streets near the hotel need resident parking permits.
The room was cold. There is aircon, but no heater.
The bed was rock hard.
The breakfast area is like the car park, over subscribed and crowded with no room. I had a quick look at the breakfast choices (no bacon...) and decided I would just check out and get breakfast on the way to my meeting.
Like I say, if you're staying for pleasure then you can probably live with a hotel that feels like an all inclusive in Benidorm, but when you're there for business, you're not in the mindset to deal with crowds.

We booked the Holiday Inn Express Bath for a spring break, expecting some sunshine to enjoy walking through the city, along the river and a few cheeky beers in the unique atmosphere Bath has to offer. It was blooming freezing cold !!
However, the hotel gave a very warm welcome, Rhys and all the other staff where friendly and helpful, giving good advise on the short 10 - 15 minute walk into the city centre and potential venues to eat and drink.
Room was clean and well presented, comfortable bed, duvet and good towels in the bathroom.
Overall an enjoyable stay, we will return.

I had an adjoining room which I had not asked for and the noise coming from the other guests was very distracting. I was not asked at check out if I had enjoyed my stay etc. if it had been a different room my stay would have been more enjoyable.

We spent two nights here during a very wet and cold March. The service was excellent from start to finish. We liked the room, which included a sofa, so you weren't confined to bed to watch the substantial TV. The shower was great and everything immaculate.
We go to Bath frequently and so we knew the short cut through Sainsburys to the centre - about 8 minutes - and as it was so wet spent our last morning at the Thermae Spa, warming up - a short 8 minutes walk at the most. The staff held onto our bags after check-out, so that we could return to the City Centre bag-free for the last day.
The Holiday Inn team and their hotel made the couple of days great for us - many thanks indeed.

This hotel has everything you need for a perfect stay.
Comfortable Bed. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water, towels and pillows. Bed side lights bright enough to read by. Ice Machine. Bright, quiet rooms.
Helpful, friendly staff.
Take short cut through Sainsburys into Bath.

The staff are excellent and very accommodating. They make you feel welcome and look after your needs.
The rooms are clean and they have just replaced all the beds with new ones. The televisions have also been upgraded to a large up to date flat screen with a good selection of freeview channels.
The location is good with it's own car park although there is a charge for parking. The city centre is just a 15 minute walk away.
There is free wi-fi in the main reception / bar area but there is a charge if you want it in your room.

.The hotel is ideally for visiting the city of Bath. The prices are reasonable for a city that is expensive, especially for the Spanish visitors. Rooms are comfortable, clean, although they do not have lockers. Ideal for short stays and visit the city of Bath, which is very nice.
I would return again to this hotel and certainly recommend it

My family and I spent 1 night in a family room. The kids had a really uncomfortable sleep as the sofa bed was very small (we then spent 2 nights at HIE Cardiff Bay where the sofa bed was really comfy). The double bed was also very soft so suffice to say none of us had that good a sleep.
The hotel was well situated to walk to the centre which took about 10 minutes. The choice for breakfast was actually very good and more choice than I expected (toast, croissants, cheese, yoghurts, cereals, fruit, sausages, scrambled eggs, juices, etc). It's a good hotel to use as a base for exploring Bath.

very pleasant stay for 3 nights and great for the centre of bath as didnt want to use the car to get in and out of the town during our stay, staff was excellent and the room was clean and had everything we needed the heating system played up a little but this was sorted promptly for us, the only negative was the breakfast was average and a little inconsiistant over the 3 days .

Stayed here prior to a business meeting the next day. Arrived late evening to find the car park full. Reception staff suggested that I parked in a side street!
Room was clean and tidy but the bar was soulless with nowhere to relax.
Breakfast the next morning was disgraceful. A bit like boarding school but with limited food and no bacon. The only advantage of this hotel was its convenience. I will not stay here again or recommend it to either friends or colleagues.

the hotel works well, great reception staff who take an interest in you. The room was clean, tidy and comfy.The small bar is a neat asset. Breakfast is good, buffet service and some cooked stuff all from 06.30am. I'd happily use this hotel again. Parking is a bit of a squeeze.

We stayed for one night on 15 February.The hotel was busy with several hen parties in the lobby on arrival,but the check in was fairly swift.Parking spaces are limited,and parking cost was £10 per night.
The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance to the restaurants and shops in the centre of Bath.
One problem we had with the room was that the heating/air-con was broken,it wasn't a particularly cold day fortunately so we managed without for the one night.
Also,our room had an interconnecting door to the next room which meant that I could hear the guests drunken conversation
at 3.50am!!
Breakfast the next morning was very busy,not many tables for the amount of guests dining.
Overall I would probably stay at this hotel again if I'm visiting Bath.

Only negative was the £6 car parking fee, something I think is totally unjustified, even more so being a Platinum member. What is so special at Hi Inn Express Bath compared to others in the chain that are as popular but do not charge for parking.

Stayed for one Saturday night. Very helpful staff on reception - Laura - who gave us directions for the short cut into the city centre making it only 10 mins walk. Also recommended excellent Italian restaurant - Martinis.Room was very clean and quiet - overlooking graveyard!! Breakfast waas pretty good, but choice of hot breakfast limited. Overall very good and would certainly stay again.

Very good service from Reception.
Breakfast good, however, think chef could stretch to bacon to go with the sausages.
More fruit selection apart from grapefruit segments would also be nice.

The location is great - just a 10 minute walk from the city centre, with a supermarket and a lovely Indian restaurant just across the road if you don't want to venture even that far. There were a couple of glitches with the room but it was clean and perfectly pleasant and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was fine except that the beans were lukewarm! This hotel is the perfect good-value base for exploring a fabulous city!
