I stayed two nights but the smell of cig smoke and "old smell" was a little too much. The staff were very friendly in spite of the smelly room!

Got advice before we arrived via email. collected from train station and taken to the airport next day. They allowed early check in and looked after bags when we checked out. The service levels at this Hotel are second to none. Breakfast was filling and lots of choice and the rooms were clean and tidy. This is probably the best value hotel deals I have had anywhere in the world so far and I travel a lot.

Friendly and helpful staff ,easy access to the highway.
The property is tucked away off the street, very quite!
Plenty of restaurants and services very close by.
Good value for the money.

We found this hotel to be very easy to locate as we were not from the area.The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.The breakfast was very good with plenty of seating and clean tables and food prep area. The selection was well stocked and replenished regularly.The staff was very polite and helpful.Check in and out was fast and efficient.Our only complaint was the number of dogs staying on our floor.We saw at least five and there was a lot of incessant barking and scratching at their doors.While we would stay here again we would definitley request to stay on a "dog free" floor.

The overall size and comfort of our room was great for our need. Our bed was comfortable giving both of us a good night's rest for the planned activities with our grand kids the following day.The complimentary breakfast offered a lot of choices to get our day started and was well stocked.

My children (ages 6 and 12) and I stayed for two nights mid-week in April over Spring Break. The room and beds were comfortable and quiet. And although the pool is smaller than it appears in photos, it and the spa were quite nice; read, we spent hours swimming. The breakfast selection was much better than the usual fare and the kids LOVED the pancake machine.
Also, we went to two wonderful museums in downtown B'ham: Spark, the museum of electrical invention (better for older kids--and get a docent to show how stuff works) and Mindport (a great hands-on science museum with a $2 entrance fee (and Spark was only $6 for 10+ and $3 for little ones). We'll probably go back to Spark some weekend because they have a Tesla Coil that generates 4 million watts!!!, but they only demonstrate on weekends.
Overall, a fun trip north.

When I reserved my room (in advance) I requested a King room. I was informed that the King rooms were for guests checking in over the weekend. Regardless of my priority status, I was informed that I could change to a King room after the weekend guests had checked out.
Guests with children was continually placed over my room. Constant heavy walking and children running over head caused many sleepless nights.

I loved everything about this hotel. The bedding and towels were top quality but what is with the pillows??? They are small, half stuffed and very cheap!!! There were 4 little pillows on a king size bed...how about using at least queen size pillows that fit into the huge pillow cases you already have! I love that the pillow cases mark the pillows as either hard or soft but the actual pillows are just... empty!!! How about upgrading them to match everything else that is so wonderful about this hotel!!!

By far the worst beds we have ever slept in, staff reaction when I mentioned it the following morning was a half hearted "Sorry to hear that" . Beds were so bad that my wife and I considered sleeping on the floor as it was propbably more comfortable. Very unlikely to stay here again.

My wife and I were VERY dissapointed in this property. Every where we looked there was need for major repairs, carpet was dirty, painting was poor and dirty, outdated.

I did not have good experience at this hotel as when booking my room in advance (by speaking and emailing with the manager) I specifically requested a room away from the elevator and ice machine, on the top floor. Well, I got the top floor, but directly across from the elevator and ice machine. I requested a move, went and got my key for the next room and it was directly across, the otherside of the elevator and ice machine. Finally they moved me to the second floor, only 2 rooms away from the elevator and ice machine. You would think that after the communications with the manager, booking in advance etc. they would actually set aside a room for me with my requests.... There was a soccer team staying at this hotel as well, and all we heard during the night, and very early morning was slamming of doors, thumping of feet above in the hallways. Experience not good at all. So when you make specific requests, you don't necessarily get them. I complained in the morning, all they said was sorry. That's it. No incentive to come back.

It seemed like a good idea at the time, but probably wouldn't do it again, only for the fact that we ended up waiting for half an hour after we go our bags before the taxi back to the hotel showed up, even though we had phoned them as soon as we landed like they told us to. After travelling all day, didn't need that as well as the ride back to the hotel to collect our vehicle. Next time, we will just leave our truck at the airport.
But the hotel was good and clean. Restaurants close by and the pool and hot tub were great, especially because they were open late (till midnight).
Hot free breakfast in the morning is always a good thing. So overall, yes I would recommend the hotel but not the park and fly leaving your vehicle there part of it.

Normally my overnight stay at the Bellingham Holiday Inn Express is excellent. This time around I was only able to get into a ground floor room, I prefer and always request an upper level room. Unfortunately, I was situated next to a room with noisy misbehaving kids who began knocking on the wall next to my bed and window. I was too exhausted to complain to the desk at the time. Next time get me my preference of an upper level quite room, thank you.

had a chance to go back and spend a sencond weekend at this location. once more the hotel staff was excellant in helping us find placesplaces we wanted to visit. the room was nice and very quiet. the cooling of the room was not working well but that was most likely our settings on the controls. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area.

I travel frequently for business and usually choose Holiday Inn Express as it is generally well geared for business travel. I often book using my iPhone app because it helps locate your hotels when I am in an area that I am not familliar with. I did this for this stay and chose the best available option for me which was "standard romm". Upon arriving very late that night I was told that I was to have a smoking room and there were no other options. I had seen that choice as available when I was booking the room on my phone but did not and would not chose it. My room was smelly and I was not happy at all. The lady at the desk was nice but explained to me that the app was not the best way to book the room and that I should phone the hotel directly. Is that true? I would prefer that you online bookings reserve the room that is chosen. Thank you.

I stayed here with my mother a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time! The hotel is in such close proximity to the mall and many restaurants that we were able to walk everywhere. Coming back to a nice hot tub was just what we needed after a long walk. The friendly staff was very knowledgeable about the area and made great recommendations. There was a very broad selection of new movies to choose from on the TV and excellent WiFi in the room. Being able to use the full size gym next door after the delicious breakfast got our morning off to a great start! Everything was very clean and comfortable! I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bellingham.

I have never stayed at a hotel with such service or amentities as this holiday inn express. I was very well taken care of since I walked through the door. The front desk staff was very cheerful and welcoming. They were the first experience I had in the hotel and they started things off right. The room was wonderful, beds comfortable and amazing size tv. Breakfast bar was everything I could hope for and more. It wasn't just a cereal and toast but much, much more. The checkout was fast and quick and I was on my way. My stay was wonderful.

Elevator was dirty. Room was extremely cold and it took an hour for it warm up. We sat around in our coats in the meantime. When I mentioned the problem to the front desk, the response was, "Sorry 'bout that." Coffee maker didn't work. The heater in the room never would shut off automatically. The girl emptying the trash cans during breafast literally dragged the metal can across the room.
Overall the staff was poorly trained. Place was dirty.
We arrived on a Friday night and there would not be a manager on duty until the following Monday. Where's management???

My husband and I planned a 2 day getaway in Bellingham just after xmas and found the Holiday Inn had space available during the days we were looking for at an extremely reasonable rate. We are from Canada and made our way down, and arrived at the hotel earlier than check-in time, but were able to get into our room right away. The front desk staff were extremely pleasant & professional at all times.
The room was clean & spacious - we were very happy with that. We walked to the Bellis Fair Mall (a very nice walk) and toured around there. We enjoyed a few brews & meals at the quaint sports bar & grill right next door to the hotel. We also took some time out & very much enjoyed the hot tub - it was the end of a perfect day for us.
The ONLY downside we found was that the breakfast area was too small for the number of guests trying to get breakfast. We ended up taking ours up to the room as there was no seating anywhere.
All in all, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to be near the Mall & surrounding area.
