Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RickTN Clean and modern rooms with a great staff.
Continuing to stay at this property for work and with the newly upgraded bathrooms, it's been even more of a delight to stay here. Breakfast options remain largely the same though I would suggest introducing healthier hot items (i.e. fresh pot of oatmeal rather than the instant package variety).
Service remains great as a couple issues I had with the room were addressed promptly.

We've stayed at this property and other HIE properties along El Camino for an annual event at Stanford. This one is our favorite, even though there are others that are closer. Quiet, with plenty of parking and predictable services/amenities.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Western Traveler Nice hotel, but has a few drawbacks
I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while on business nearby. Overall, it's a nice place -- clean and quiet, with modern decor and amenities. It's located close to businesses, restaurants, and the freeway. As with anything, this hotel has pros and cons.
A couple of positive things that stood out to me: (1) You have the option of "green" housekeeping (i.e., choosing between reusing towels or getting new ones). (2) The parking lot is well lit after dark and the lobby is secured by keycard entry late at night, so I felt extra safe there, even though the neighborhood seemed pretty calm.
There are two negatives, though. One is that there is no view. My room faced an apartment complex -- not exactly scenic. The other side of the hotel faces a major road, so that's not much better. The hotel isn't very tall, so you can't get a room on a floor above the suburban landscape.
I was also disappointed that there was no bathtub, and only a shower (at least in my room). In addition, the shower doors are glass — ultramodern, but the complete transparency means you don't have any privacy in the shower if someone else is in the bathroom at the same time. In addition, there's a gap between the shower door and the rest of the enclosure, so during a shower, water gets all over the bathroom floor. I also caught my finger in that gap once when I was closing the door — Ouch!
I didn't eat the complimentary breakfast (I have some food allergies), so I can't comment about the quality of the food.
In summary, I think this hotel is a good value for business travelers. Leisure travelers may want to consider other options.
