Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Always a great stay I have stayed here numerous times. It is always clean and nice. Great breakfast so you don't have to go out. A variety of restaurants very close by as well. They were doing a few renovations on the floor we were on but nothing to hinder our stay. We will definitely stay here again. July 3, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Recent Stay Overall it was ok, the price is high for the quality. You need to look at updating your rooms. You should have the lamps with the outlets for phone charges so i don't have to unplug a lamp to charge my phone. Restrooms should be updated as well. Decent stay but higher cost than I usually pay for a Hampton and not as nice. And your gym you should have the remote to the TV next to the TV and you only had 2 towels in your gym. I know you have a water fountain but you should have a water cooler. April 28, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by cold shower I woke up to shower after a long day on the road the night before and the shower was cold. I told the person at the front desk what happened and all he said was, "Oh, I'm sorry". Before I loaded the car up to leave, he came up and told me that one of the hot water heaters went out and that must have been what happened. I have been a Platinum Member of the IHG rewards club for a while, which means I spend a lot of money staying at Holiday Inns. The night should have been comped by the hotel management at the very least. I am very disappointed in the service and quality of stay I had at this hotel. March 24, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not so helpful Our room really smelled like smoke. It was sprayed to smell some better but for non smokers it wasn't very good. The front dest staff was at best not helpful. I felt as though I was bothering them. I called the night prior to my arrival to tell them that my 81 year old mother was meeting me and staying in my room and to add her to my reservation. I spelled her name and they seemed to type or write it down. When my mother arrived they said there wasn't any record of her. That was disappointing. The rest of the staff was great. October 30, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Bessemer, Alabama The first day I arrived I was exhausted from the drive. I was in town for a family funeral. I wanted to rest up from the drive and before gathering with family. However, the people that was in the room above me sounded like a herd of elephants above me. I went down to the front desk to ask about what was going on above me. They ensured me they would call up to the room above me to ask them to settle down. All it did was make it worse, it was like they got louder on purpose. So, I gave up on resting. I knew the people above me wasn't going to allow me to rest. We decided to go on to eat dinner somewhere. Although the housekeeping came in our room each day to change our garbage and to give us fresh towels, they never replenished our toilet tissue. We ended up having to use our facial tissue and ended up running out of that as well. My cousin stayed there as well in another room and ended up giving us a roll of tissue out of her room. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was great as well as the dining room. The only problem I had there was other people that was staying there was rude and disrespectful on cutting in front of you and snatching things out from in front of you instead of getting in the back of the line. Overall, the hotel was a nice stay. It was the other people that was staying there that made it bad on occasions. August 18, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No more This will be the last time staying at this property. It keeps getting worse and worse. First, I have stayed here at least 40 nights in the past 12 months and as a Platinum Member I was never offered an upgrade. I didn't even know they had any rooms other than 2 Queen beds until a month ago when I had to change my room and they put me into a King room. The last time I stayed, I had to change my room TWICE in 4 days. The first time, the room had a terrible musty smell, which was coming from the mat in the bathtub. It was peeled up and had horrible gunk under it. This didn't happen overnight and it's a shame I had to point this out when they have housekeeping staff that clean the room EVERY DAY. When they moved me to a new room, it ended up being the same room that I asked to be moved FROM the week prior! This room had an air conditioner that was rattling very loudly because the front plastic grill was broken and loose. I can't believe I told them about this the week prior and it STILL wasn't fixed. Obviously the staff and the management just don't care about service and the owners probably only care about making as much money as they can. This hotel isn't cheap either! I've stayed in HIExpress hotels and full-blown HI hotels in other places that were WAY better in service and condition and a lot less per night. I even stayed at a higher-end hotel recently that cost less than this place! Next time I come to the area I'll be staying somwehere else. July 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room problems Everytime I go to this place I have an issue with a room. The 1st time the room was not what I asked for. The 2nd time the room had been smoked in and when I told the lady at the front desk she gave me some spray which did not help. The 3rd time the room smelled musky! The 4th time I stayed when I got in my room the A/C did not work. They changed it out and when I walked it it smelled nothing but smoke. They changed it out with one from a smoking room. So, I had to change rooms because of the smell. If it happens again I will change places. I go here every month and stay 2 to 4 days. June 26, 2013
