only stayed over night but, were very happy with our stay!

We stayed here 5-8 years ago and loved it. This time was a different experience. Upon arrival, we planned to quickly shower/change and go to dinner. The shower curtain/shower smelled. The staff did not handle the situation to our satisfaction. They did offer to move our room, but after taking extra time to go look at other rooms, only to find almost all the shower curtains smelled bad too; I just asked for a new shower curtain. I also asked for some type cleaner to clean it myself since I was told housekeeping had gone home for the day. They did not give me any. In addition, the pull out sleeper sofas do not have the sheets on in advance; there is a bag in the closet with the sheets. The fitted sheet looked used, so I asked for a new one. The overall tone of the staff (all 3 people) was not overly helpful, even though my requests were made in good taste (please/thank you, etc -- I used to work the front desk of a HIE, so I know what it's like). The next night we had a separate reservation to move to a larger room. The next room had very dirty carpeting, a very dirty couch. There was nothing that could be done at that point -- the staff just wasn't welcoming or overly nice. I don't think I saw any of them smile; that is unacceptable in this industry. When I asked, "Our shower curtain smells bad, can I please come down and get a new one? Also, the fitted sheet for the sleeper sofa doesn't appear clean, may I have a new one?" A more acceptable response might have been, "Oh, I'm so sorry about that, we will get you a new one right away" with a smile!! Instead I had to stand at the desk with my dirty/smelly shower curtain and explain to two different crabby staff members what my "issue" was. And then after a few glances I was able to have a new one. I don't think anyone ever apologized. Needless to say, moving hotels was the best thing we did while on vacation. I'm just irritated that we paid for 2 nights at this hotel.

Overall my stay was very positive. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were spacious. Cable service had a lot to choose from.
