Great rooms, in-room wifi (hooray!) and a free breakfast, all of which I'd expect in this day and age, but this was actually a marked improvement on my previous visit, which was still good however. THe parking was easy and reasonably priced. The breakfast was a bit basic if you're not a meat-eater like myself, but overall it was fine. The staff were ok, but not great. Courteous, but not much more beyond that, especially when I had to go to the reception 3 times because or key cards wouldn't work - no apologies, which I shrugged off, but thought would be a basic thing to do. The room was very spacious though so I really can't complain about it at all. August 21, 2014

We enjoyed an offer for family room and day out - it was an excellent combination and good value! Would definately do it again. The room decor was relaxing boasting hues of blues. The bathroom was immaculate with appealing decor and good lighting (blue light for night time)... Hash browns and mushrooms could be considered an added option/variety to the menu and an alternative/soya milk readily available. My overall experience was excellent and even though the hotel is off the beaten track it is well worth it! August 20, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than expected! I booked this hotel as part of a deal which included entry fees to Cadbury World or Warwick Castle. I work with the Civil Service and was intending to get a discount on entries to these attractions, however having spoken to the Receptionist when I rang to book, he offered to book these tickets as well and they worked out cheaper (albeit only by 25p!) than the Civil Service discount. I was a bit worried about what I would find when I got to the hotel and was pleasantly surprised. It was nice to have parking in a secure car park by the hotel and I did not mind paying the extra £5 per night for the peace of mind this afforded me. My 8 year old son and I stayed in a twin room which was beautifully decorated and very clean. The shower cubicle was large enough to have 3 people in it and was spotless as was the rest of the room. There was air conditioning in the room which was easily controlled. Only downside in the room was that the TV crackled when in standby mode. It was good to have free Wifi which you connected to without the need to ask for a password. Beds were comfortable although I did wonder why the beds were not remade after our first night even though the rest of the room had been cleaned. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge as I had in the last Holiday Inn Express I stayed in near Reading which also had a swimming pool nevertheless this wasn't a deal breaker. Staff were very professional, breakfast was good though limited, it was plentiful, fresh and warm. Serving staff were very efficient and cleared tables pretty quickly. The only downside was that they didn't tend to smile when speaking to guests, that would have been a nice touch. Evening menu is very limited but the hotel encourages you to order in Takeaways and will provide crockery which you can take up to your room yourself with trays provided. They do not provide room service. My only major concern was the ease with which my room pass was replaced when I misplaced mine. I was concerned that I would have to pay for a replacement but was happily given another and told that if I found the other which I thought I had locked in the room, it would still work! I wondered if that meant someone picking it up off the street could have let themselves in to the lift area and to the room. The only saving grace was that the room number is not on the pass and I would like to think Receptionist happily gave me another only because she recognised me as a guest. I fancied an Italian meal and the Receptionist recommended Pavarotti's, a 5 minute drive away, which was lovely, you had authentic Italian food and it was family friendly. All in all, hotel was good value for money, would stay there again. August 19, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by COLD FOOD IT IS A GREAT SHAME THAT THE CHEF COOKS A MEAL THAT LOOKS GREAT ON THE PLATE BUT ARRIVES AT THE TABLE COLD. NO REAL APOLOGY JUST "IT'S NOT MY FAULT" FROM THE SERVER. I WOULD HAVE HAPPILY WAITED FOR A FRESH HOT MEAL BUT WALKED TWO DOORS DOWN THE ROAD AND PICKED UP A DELICIOUS FRESHLY COOKED TAKE AWAY PIZZA. August 18, 2014

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights visiting Cadbury World, West Midlands Safari Park and Warwick Castle and I must say the whole family was really impressed by the staff including James, Kate and the rest of the team who made our stay very comfortable. The Hotel room was much better then we had expected and the rooms were very comfortable, clean and well laid out. We will definitely be coming to this Hotel again for future visits and if anyone is looking for a great location to visit the attractions in the Midlands I would suggest try this Hotel. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Watch out for the noisy air conditioned room 512 I have stayed at this hotel several times and it is modern, clean and the staff are great. However you need to watch out for the room which is below the main air conditioning 512 as the vibration occasionally kicks in and could disturb your sleep. I was fortunate as I noticed the noise as soon as I got to the room so they switched me to the disabled room across the hall. This disabled room has a TV that needs tunuing in to all the channels, perhaps people with disabilities only watch bbc tv!! Still the hotel is my choice when staying in Birmingham as it has great staff, good access, great parking and a nice indian restaurant within 30 yards. I have only discovered the issues above due to the numerous times I have and will continue to book this hotel. August 17, 2014
