What a superb place to stay. We needed overnight accommodation for an early morning flight. The H I Express was ideal in every way. Staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Very early breakfast was great as we did not expect to have such a great choice so early in the morning.
Would recommend without reservation and will certainly use this venue again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The White Hat Rear rooms are quieter
The location is apt for those wishing to visit the NEC or are travelling via the Midland's airport. The rooms are typical of a HI Express and as they have high traffic always look as though they could do with a paint touch up. The hotel has a limited choice of television channels so children will not be entertained. The adjacent pub, 'The Little Owl' serves a reasonable selection of keg ales. The food at the Owl is acceptable and reasonably priced apart from the 'side salad' as a lettuce leaf, one quarter of a tomato, two shavings of a section of cucumber and a sprinkling of diced onion did not meet expectations or the £2.50 price. The pub did not have muzak playing which is a definite plus. Returning to your room, ask for the top floor and at the rear for quietness, the lack of television channels will again disappoint leaving one wondering why the TV was not just tuned to the local DAB channels instead of a truncated selection. Whilst he parking is ample and secure, do check that the overnight cost is included in the room rate.

The question if the plates can be taken, while I was still eating gave me an unpleasant feeling. This happened every morning and gave me the impression I had to leave immediatly
