Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed I travel for work a few times a year and I would for a city in Nevada. I hold a department head job with the city and always book a room under the government rate when I travel and I always stay at a name brand hotel. I booked the room the same way I always do on-line and when I got to my destination and went to check in they said I could not have the government rate with out written orders. I don't travel with written orders because I 'm not in the military, I work for a city government and we don't issue written orders. I have always enjoyed staying at a Holiday Inn Express until know. The room was dirty, many stains on the carpet and very load. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone to stay at and the management was not very nice. October 29, 2013

Kathy the manager was the very best at meeting our needs. She is a very caring person and has a wonderful personality. My husband complained about the breakfast sausages and eggs and she looked after it right away. I don't know what Holiday Inn's policy is on off season rates but it would be nice if they met some of their competitors prices. We travel off season so to avoid the crowds and the high prices. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay; Great Staff and Rooms; will book again I spent 4 nights here. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms were spacious, simply decorated, clean, quiet and ver y comfortable. The motel is conveniently located near all in Bishop. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and easy to talk to. They were very accomodating to my grandchildren who live in Bishop and stayed in my room with me for a few nights. The breakfast was excellent; lots of choice, well prepared, comparable to a meal that could easily cost $ 10 per person in a neary restaurant. My grandchildren and I partiularly enjoyed the pool and hot tub which was well maintained, large enough for them to play as well as swim. I definitely plan to book again. October 8, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Awkward layout The elevator was located at the far end of the hotel instead of the usual center. We were located about 1/3 of the way from the rear on the 2nd floor. Because there were only 2 floors, each corridor was longer than average so when going out to the street or to the lobby/breakfast room, it was necessary to walk to one end for the elevator, then back on the first floor better than half the length of the hotel. If I was aware of this layout, I would have booked a room across the street at a competing hotel. For a younger person, this might have only been inconvenient, but for us it was very difficult. The breakfast area was also very small. Much more than any other I have visited. There was a tour bus full of people eating before getting ready to to leave which was also a problem. This property was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The big problem is a hotel building that isn't a good fit for HIE properties. In the future, I will get more information before booking at a HIE hotel. October 5, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Internet Access The room that I was I had poor Itnernet connection for my IPad. The tech support person could not get my Ipad hooked up to the Internet. It amazes me how a large hotel chain such as Holiday Inn goes cheap on Internet modum. In trying to save money by having a cheapt modum, it turns off customers like me., Holiday Inn discourages me away from booking agian becuase I rely on Internet when travleing. October 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Short stay or stop over location We stayed for a one night stop over and had no issues at all. Hotel, staff, facilities and rooms are exactly what you would expect from an HIX and I'm not trying to be condesending when I say that; thats why we booked it. Elevator location is a little bit puzzling and means a bit of a treck if you want or need to use it but all in all if you are on a short stay or stop over I would certainly recommend. Bishop itself seems to go to bed early with a lot of restaurants closing by 9 - 9.30PM but the Whisky Creek is definately recommended and is only a short walk from the hotel on main street. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing room booked from on the road Knowing we would arrive in Bishop in the evening without a reservation, I called from my mobile to book a room, requesting 2 queens but was told we could only have a king since the queen rooms were being saved for other potential clients. Our room was by the elevator far down the hall and somewhat cramped. It was the most expensive and least appealing motel of the four we stayed in on that trip. Very disappointing. I had the feeling that if I had not called we would have been given a better room I usually like Holiday Inn Express hotels. Pool and breakfast were fine. The directions for internet Wi-Fi were inadequate in the room. Never go there again. On the other hand, the Holiday Inn at Selma CA and HIExpress in Ashland werewonderful and so have others been. I felt cheated because I admitted on the phone to being "needy" (this when every location was emptying because of the rim fire further north). The hotel was not full, judging by the rooms that received newspapers in the morning.... September 9, 2013

The staff was helpful and friendly, the room was clean, the breakfast was good. We will attend the Fair again next year and will stay at this hotel. September 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service The rooms aren't fancy but they are updated and clean. The bathrooms are set up a a little weird. The sink and vanity are right there when you open the door on the right and then there is a door on the left to the shower and toilet. It's not terrible but if you like to have a little privacy in the morning in front of the mirror you won't get that. That said I would stay there again. It was a nice room for the price and the staff was extremely helpful with all of our needs. I also liked having a fridge in the room and little kitchen area. That was very helpful. August 28, 2013

Feedback intended to remind city fathers through hotel owners that they can just pass these fees on with impunity. August 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above and beyond The hotel is comfortable, well-maintained, very conveniently located in the middle of Bishop, and quiet. What sets it apart is its staff. Friends and I stay there every year during hiking and camping trips in the Sierra Nevada. On our most recent trip, we encountered dangerous weather in the mountains and decided to return to Bishop a day earlier than planned. We called the hotel from our campsite but were unsure whether the hotel receptionist had heard our message, since the cell phone signal was weak and we lost the connection quickly. She could have said to herself, "oh well, they'll call back" but she didn't let it rest there. In fact, she had heard enough to figure out who we were and what we wanted, called the contact number that my colleague had given, confirmed with his wife that we wanted to check in a day earlier than planned, and set up the reservation. When we hiked out the next day, our rooms were waiting for us. That's great service. Other hotel employees are just as dedicated. One morning when staff evidently was short, the morning receptionist/manager was single-handedly making breakfast, distirbuting newspapers and managing the front desk. I would add that the workforce seems quite stable -- we've seen the same personnel for the last three years -- and they are as friendly as they are devoted to serving their guests well. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Stayed 3 nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat) with our 4 year old daughter and probably got some of the best rest we have ever had at a hotel! Beds were comfortable and it was really quiet, even though the hotel was full every night. We were just amazed at the peacefulness because all my life I have associated hotels with slamming doors and people talking in the halls at all hours--not so at this hotel. Yay! We took advantage of the continental breakfast and enjoyed really yummy cinnamon rolls and coffee each morning. We used the indoor pool one night--particularly liked that it was indoor versus out in the parking lot like most the other hotels. We also liked that it was centrally located on the main street, so we were able to walk to local restaurants and the cute movie theater. Overall, it was a good stay and we would stay there again, as well as recommend it to others. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel In Bishop Stayed for a weekend at this hotel. It was quite enjoyable. Free Breakfast was provided at no cost with the room. Options included scrambled eggs, sausage links and patties, pancakes, bagels, four choices of cereals and many juices and coffee with name branded creamers. The room was nice and clean and had many towels to use during the stay. The room had a flat screen TV that provided the local channels. It was nice and quiet and the room smelled clean with some odor. August 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Room - poor elevator location This hotel is one of the top of the Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have stayed at (If you stay on the first floor). The room was updated, clean and comfortable. The only drawback in this hotel is where the elevator is located. The hotel is one long building with 2 floors. The Lobby is at the front of the building. The ONLY elevator is at the rear of the building. My room was on the 2nd floor, near where the lobby is on the first floor. I had to haul my luggage almost 2 lengths of the building. The nearest staircase is near the middle of the first floor hallway. August 3, 2013

Her smile and voice was a pleasure after riding the M/C all day long. This hotel is in the middle of everything and she made great recommendations for our meals. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not as good as usual I have stayed here several times. Usually very nice, although always a little pricey, especially during fishing season. On this trip I arrived a little early hoping to check in around 1:30. They could not accomodate this. I worked in the lobby for an hour or so, untilmy room was ready. I felt like the desk clerk could have been friendlier, but no problems. After was in my room for about 20min a maid let herself in, caught me in my underwear. I tried to work in my room, but the wi-fi connection was so tremendously slow it became tedious. After dinner I decided to try the pool. It is a nice pool, but there were no towels in the pool area, so I had to walk back to my room soaking wet. I am a priority club member and have visited numerous properties over the years. There is a distinct lack of attention to detail here, and for $150 a night, I expect the details to be handled. June 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by In-room Hair Dryer Attribute it to bad luck or faulty equipment, I had a near disastrous experience with the in-room hair dryer, which had never happened before in all my years of traveling. While drying my shoulder length hair, a handful of strands (about 10) got caught into the back of the dryer. I tried to gently pull them out, however, my hair started to be sucked further into the dryer. I then turned off the power. By this time about half of those ten hair strands were tightly sucked in. I asked my husband to help. He was not able to pull them out. We had to cut my hair loose. Since we had a long day ahead of us. I didn't bother to report the incident to the front desk. In retrospect, I decided to report this incident so that you might want to check your hair dryers for defects. I also noticed that your hair dryer was of an off brand, not the usual name brand. Could this be the problem? June 13, 2013
