Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Visit to Bloomington in early April - Stay at the Holiday Inn Express My wife and I just completed a visit to Bloomington, Indiana(visting IU) and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. We have stayed there previously and will do so again in the future. The only negative that we experienced was slow in-room internet. That happened both evenings that we were there and I assume that it is due to many people trying to access the internet at the same time. Aside from that, there are no other things to complain of. The staff is curteous, the rooms are clean, the breakfast food is well prepared and the hotel is "quiet", which is always a nice thing to experience when traveling. My wife and I can highly recommend this hotel. April 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, service was excellent, but a little pricey. Overall it was a very good experience. The room and bathroom was nicely decorated and clean, in summary a very comfortable environment. The breakfast area was also nicely decorated and clean and roomy. My only complaint about the breakfast was that a larger selection of fruit would have been welcomed. The price, in comparison to other hotels that we have stayed in recently, was a bit high with no room for negotiation, which may be accountable to Bloomington Indiana, home of Indiana University, having a shortage of hotel space versus demand. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Place to Stay! My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the lite evening meal provided Monday through Thursday. The hotel was comfortable, convenient, and a great value. The staff were helpful and pleasant. I'll book again next time I'm in Bloomington! March 14, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Problem I checked in late that night, about 10:30 PM. They said I didn't have a reservation. I said I did, and please recheck. They went into the back and found where "someone" had mistakenly cancelled by reservation. They did find me a room (handicapped room, I am not). Just somewhat aggravating. February 21, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, great atmosphere I stay in hotels all over the country, this hotel is one of the best. The Service is great and the personnel are very friendly and eager to help. The Ladies serving Breakfast and Dinner are always friendly and helpful and going above and beyond to make it enjoyable. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Friendly staff I am a first time visitor to the Bloomington area. I am in the hospitality industry and it always so easy to spot a well run facility and this is certainly one! The friendly staff almost caught me off guard because it is not the norm. I would highly recommend this property and plan to stay everytime we visit my daughter at IU! January 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A trip for the musician My son (age 17) and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn on Franklin Rd. in Bloomington, IN. We went for a music clinic at Indiana University. The hotel is beautiful and nicely laid out. The front desk staff were friendly. They even found a place for my son to practice his horn. Check-in was easy. Rooms were spacious and clean. Cleaning personnel were quick and curteous. But, the best part about the stay at this hotel, was Diana in the dining room. She greeted EVERYONE EVERY morning we were there. She greeted them with a smile and kindness. She was a JOY! I would go back and stay at this hotel for her alone. Great lady and absolutely doing what she was meant to do...making people smile! Check-out was also easy. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. If my son chooses Indiana University, then we will stay there everytime we go for a visit. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The Best Shower! Hotel was fine. The manager's reception in the evening was ok. But the beer was cold. Great shower. No issues. Only complaint was the hotel "gym." Equipment was old with little variety. January 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay!!! We enjoyed our stay, the G.M. suggested an excellent restaurant for us. January 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love This Hotel!! The staff is very friendly and helpful right from the start. My two boys LOVED our room and hit the pool immediately. THe pool area was clean and inviting. The rooms are updated, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is the best we have had at a hotel. Lots of variety and choices while being staffed and replentished. This is our third year in a row staying at this hotel and it will continue to be our first choice when staying in Bloomington!! January 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff, great service! Lovely decor in the lobby/dining room makes this hotel feel high-end. Everyone that I encountered during my stay was extremely friendly. Breakfast was crowded, so if you want to sit in the dining room be sure to get there early. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel! January 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above and beyond I do travel to Bloomington In quite often. When I do, this is the Hotel I request . I was in the main lobby on my last visit when I wittnessed more of the awesome service that this Hotel gives their guest. One of the new employees was helping a guest who had just registered and had all of her luggage, the guest wanted to go ahead and fix their food to take to their room (the managers reception) so the employee was fixing their plate for them. Then the employee went with the guest and delivered the dinner to the guest's room. This is how they treat every guest. I really hope the owner knows what a wonderful staff they have. I travel 80 % of the year. It is rare that I do a review on any Hotel. But this one is ABOVE and BEYOND any I have ever stayed at.. GREAT JOB BLOOMINGTON! November 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic service We stayed with a team for a tournament weekend...college aged males. Other parents had rooms as well. We served our team and families..which was at least 60 people...a meal at 5pm Saturday. We were accomodated to do this in the breakfast area. When we arrived for setting up the meal, we were greeted warmly with a white tablecloth on the serving table, an offer of using the hot beverages and water, and use of serving utensils. I have had the same meal situation in many hotels over the past 8 years, but this was by far the BEST! Thank you, management! November 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stan It just simply doesn't get any better than this. Quality service, room, shower, staff and all the etc's. Next time in Bloomington, I will stay here. November 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleasant decor, very comfortable Nice sized room, good amenities. The in-room WiFi was a little weak, but strong signal in lobby. Nice pool. Easy walking distance to restaurants. I would recommend or go back there again myself. November 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Value and Inclusions Charging an excessive rate on a football weekend at a university town property can be expected. What I do not fathom is the lack of perks or inclusions to soften the blow for Priority Club members. During the week, this and many properties offer happy hours for instance for business travelers. but on a premiuim rate weekend "nothing". Most of those weekday dollars are company dollars and I'm spending my own money on the weekend and it seems reasonable to get something extra for being a loyal customer and paying a high rate. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Not same as Bedford Indiana??? I stayed in same hotel in Bedford Indiana 2 week earlier. They had bath robes in room. I paid for a jaccusi tube this time and no robes??? Bedford had retractable enternet cable and Bloomington did not.I had to buy a cable to hook up,because I didn't bring one because it was furnished in Bedford. I didn't bring robes beacuse was furnished before. Bloomington had an evening meal that Bedford didnot..Bedford was in middle of no where. No food or gas station close. Bloomington had a Golden Corral and Texas Road House a short walk across road.We were going to eat steak any way.But a 10% off coupon upon check-in was even better. We like Golden Corral also.so it was very nice surprise to see both across street. October 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 IU Football game weekend This hotel is conveniently located on the hwy 37/45 route. The breakfast included a broad selection of items. The rooms were nicely appointed and clean. The fitness center is small but had good equipment. I didn't use the whirlpool or indoor pool but they looked enticing. I would stay again at this property. October 15, 2012
