Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst IHG property I've seen I stayed here on a business trip on Jan. 28th, 2016 and was profoundly disappointed. As others have mentioned, this property is undergoing extensive (and overdue) renovations which in and of itself presents challenges with cleanliness, and the renovations are such that the property really should not try to remain in operation during such time. Upon arrival, I was not greeted as an IHG Rewards Member which was somewhat disappointing, and my disappointment would only increase after I saw my accommodations. At the time I was there, the only apparent rooms open for occupation were ones that have not been updated. The bed was like a trampoline; I'm guessing the mattress dated back at least 20 years. The thermostat was a simple dial with "Warmer" and "Cooler" as the only two options. Not that it mattered because the dial was completely nonfunctional. The heat could not be adjusted and the room had to be 80 degrees or more. Thankfully the windows in my room could be opened which at least attenuated some of the oppressive heat. If your guests have to sleep with the window open in Minneapolis in January to be comfortable, you have a problem. I will also mention that the heating unit was loud, as well. I have to believe the renovations, once complete, will greatly improve the property but I will have to take the words of others on that because I won't be back. The combination of discomfort and a staff that didn't meet the standard I've come to expect with IHG properties will have me seeking alternative hotels the next time I'm in the area. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by lots of construction right now This hotel is undergoing major construction right now. Once it is all completed I think it will be very nice. There was no mention of the construction when we booked. Because of this we didn't know the pool was closed which really disappointed my 4 year old. The staff was very friendly though and offered discounts or the ability to go elsewhere without penalty. Staff made the place. February 9, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and terrible service We booked this hotel and prepaid weeks before our stay, and upon our arrival we found the hotel under construction. This wouldn't have been a big deal, except the stay itself was poor. The staff were unprofessional, and ended up giving us a key to someone else's room- which we opened because they told us it was our room (and someone was in there!)- and then we had to be put in another room since that one was obviously occupied. The front desk blamed it on the cleaning staff, and then told us that unfortunately that was the last king room they had, so all they could give us were two queen beds in place of it. No real apology, and no real attempt to make it right. I have been to many Holiday Inn Express across the county and always have great experiences, but that was certainly not the case with this particular location. February 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by What a mess Would never had stayed here if I would have known it was under major construction! Our group named it Hotel Iraq! Complete disaster, heat was stuck on in my room, had to open my window in order to get fresh air. We would have moved hotels if it had not been for the blizzard and all local hotels were booked. Will never stay at this facility again. The hotel didn't even bother to discount the bill either for putting up with the construction. 5am hammers start, very relaxing! Couldn't wait to get out of there February 8, 2016

Besides the renovation, the room was not clean, and in poor condition. It's obvious that the property has not been maintained well. I looked at 4 towels before finding one without old stains. I could go on... I will not book at thes hotel again. February 7, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unexpected I stayed here recently on points and even called to verify my reservation ahead of time. I was shocked to see the whole hotel is under construction. My understanding from online and calling they were only renovating the pool area. I was disappointed. This is our usual hotel to stay and are excited to see final project but not happy about the construction noise and lack of parking. February 6, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Renovations I was very disappointed that they were renovating the hotel when we arrived. We were only there for 1 night but the pool and hot tub were closed. It would have definitely changed where we stayed if we were told this when booking. We booked on the Holiday Inn website so imo there was no reason this was not disclosed at the time of booking.
