Nice hotel, good staff. In process of remodeling, the hotel definitely needs the remodel.
Nothing can be done about the noise from planes at certain times as the hotel is in the landing path.

I spent the week at this hotel and honestly was not impressed with the level of service. The hotel advertises free shuttle service to and from the airport so that is why it was chosen and the reviews were correct, picking up is a nightmare! Called at 9:30pm on a Sunday night and told the shuttle was tied up and to take a cab and have the cab driver come inside and they would pay for the fare. Well according to the person at the airport handling the cabs said that was illegal and no one could do that. I informed the hotel and they said they do but informed them they don't and pressured them into coming to get me. On the ride to the hotel I was informed that they were short a person because they went home early not tied up. Upon arrival another two gentleman came in and they had to pay for the cab themselves and didn't hear the rest of the story but the hotel was sounding like they weren't going to honor the reimbursement to the two guys. I then used the shuttle to go to the Mall of America and the driver was complaining about a large pickup of guests and how cheap they were in not tipping. Then after I spent a few hours there I went down to get the 7:10pm pick up and got there at 6:55 pm and no shuttle showed. Called the hotel and they said I missed the shuttle and next one would be 8:10 pm and that came and went. Called again at 8:25pm and was told I missed that one and the next one would be 9:10 pm. Told the lady answering the phone that I have been waiting since 6:55 pm and someone needs to come get me. They tried the cab thing again said no sorry not going to work come get me! They finally did and never used the shuttle service till I went to the airport on my day of departure. The hotel appears to be upgrading but the mattress must be the ones from when they opened they are not very comfortable. Stayed near the airport but the outside noise was minimal compared to the loud a/c unit in the room that drowned out the planes. The room service was ok choices are minimal and did not eat breakfast there. The gym is a joke one of the treadmills worked the other one didn't and it was like a sauna in there I brought it to their attention and still was the same temp the whole week.

The hotel room and the facility was great. A day before I checked out, my employer stopped by the hotel and swiped his card to pay my bill. When I checked out my personal card was charged. I have called on at least 6 occasions and my employer has called twice to reconcile the matter. No One bothers to acknowledge or return calls on this. I am quite surprised at this from a Holiday Inn franchisee.

My main concern was the counter top was NOT clean in the bathroom. I cleaned myself! Rest of room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast area needs to be upgraded, we usually have coffee etc in the lobby at all times Breakfast was tasty, but lines for the waffle iron, need to have at least 2.

This is a very nice looking property from the outside. The rooms are very run down, and they oddly used a wood frame bed, clipped me knee twice. Staff was a mixed bag...check in late night was wonderful. Got an attitude from the front desk AM agent after asking what the deal was with the airport shuttle. If you need a reliable airport shuttle, DO NOT STAY HERE. 30 minutes after I signed up, I finally left for the airport. They had a group that just rushed the shuttle with no control from Hotel staff. Housekeeping crew were wonderful.

We spent two nights at the Eagan location on Pilot Knob Road, and the hotel experience could not have been better. Check-in went smooth. The front desk personnel were friendly & professional, the room was clean, the shower was perfect, and the bed was better than my bed at home (very comfortable). Checking-out was effortless.

We wanted to get away and we live close. The room was really quiet. The service was very good.
I only have 2 things to say:
For the housekeeping.. the checkout is at noon. Please DO NOT knock on the door at 8 am waking the guests up. Im assuming that is who it was I never checked. But someone was knocking on the door a few times.
For the pool:
I understand because of kids, the pool should be closed at 10. But if you are over the age of 21 and there are no kids below that age, The pool should be open if you have a key and locked to all others because some people don't get to check in til later.
Other than those 2 things, stay was good. maybe invest in a small small refrigerator to store drinks?

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend, a thursday through monday. They have free shuttles to the airport and to the Mall of America. However, what they fail to tell you is that the shuttle is only every hour. Or so they say. Sometimes there is a random shuttle waiting and they will take you. However, in terms of getting picked up, they are AWFUL. They tell you they will arrive at a certain time (usually 10 minutes after the hour). They were not on time once!!! We waited 45 extra minutes the first time, 30 extra minutes the second time, and the third time THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! We had to pay for a cab back to the hotel. I was not happy to say the least, especially since I was there on business and had to be up early each morning. The icing on the cake was when we were checking out and asked for the shuttle to pick us up at 5 pm with our luggage from the mall to take us to the airport. The lady at the front desk assured me 6 pm was enough time to make our 720 flight. We were down at 6 pm and a shuttle didnt arrive until 640! The shuttle that arrived first DID NOT HAVE OUR LUGGAGE! we did not arrive to the airport until 7 pm and had to wait through security and almost missed our flight! There are plenty of hotels with free shuttles. I would choose one of them instead.

This hotel has a lot going for itself, but the staff continually shoot itself in the foot. I merely needed a comfortable Saturday night stay (5/31) and as promised on its website and by staff, reliable shuttle from Mall of America to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
The bed was comfortable and the room seems like it had been fairly recently renovated. But it was an ordeal to actually get into my room.
Let me explain. I had a very short trip (Saturday afternoon to earlu Sunday a.m.) and started out at Mall of America, staff insisted that pickups in the evening were only exactly at 810 and 1010. I planned around that and even called at 845 p.m. for 1010 pickup. The front desk person actually gave me the wrong pickup location at MOA (the OLD shuttle location) and when I was out there at 940, the Holiday Inn van was leaving. So I waited for 1010 in a very uncomfortable area (very hot humid sweating through my clothes). Then at 1015 I called the hotel for status - unapologetic front desk person told me to wait another 8-10 minutes (which is exactly how long it takes to get from hotel to the mall). In other words they forgot the van I reserved in the first place...the driver (seemed annoyed) upon pickup at 1035 complained about the front desk person. Also tip jar w $5 bill facing me seemed pandering (especially to someone in bad mood).
Then I get to the hotel exhausted

Don't leave anything of value in your room. The hotel sent me to a room that was already occupied. My key card did not work. I went back to the counter and they reprogrammed it. It worked and opened the door of a room that was in use. Doesn't give me a warm fuzzy about leaving anything of value in my room.

I was staying here for 3 days and 3 nights for business. I was taking a course right at the hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not offer lunch service. However I did know this before I came and packed lunches accordingly. The meals from the restaurant were wonderful. They made my breakfast to order. Room was very nice. I was 2 rooms away from the elevator and the continuous noise from that was disruptive and my husband could not even hear me well when I was communicating with him over cell phone (noise was very loud in the background). That was the really only downfall of the location. Next time I have a course scheduled to be there, I shall just plan on requesting a room not near the elevator.

Room and facilities had a fair amount of deferred maintenance or poor housekeeping. Peeling paint, wallpaper, etc. Room service trays and dishes left in the hallways overnight and well into the next day. Cigarette buts and ashtrays outside entrance that aren't picked up or cleaned regularly.
The beds were probably some of the worst I've ever slept on. They were very old and worn out. An additional mattress pad was added to my bed and it still wasn't enough to prevent the springs in the mattress from forming impressions on the sheets.
My room had a vague smoke smell and it seemed no attempt to use an air freshener had been made.
There were a lot of mechanical noises in some of the rooms. All day and night there was a noise that sounded like some kind of pump starting and stopping in the walls or under the floor.
Hotel shuttle was unavailable when we called from the airport. We were instructed to take a cab and the hotel would pay for it. The cab company refused to take us unless we paid them directly.
My room was uncomfortably warm for most of my stay and I couldn't get it to cool off sufficiently. This shouldn't have been a problem considering the outside temperatures were rarely above 60 degrees Fahrenheit during my visit.
Breakfast was ok and had a good variety of hot and cold items.
Overall my impression of this hotel is that it was once very nice and "upscale" as the description implies, but it has since fallen into disrepair and badly needs renovation.

Upon check-in the clerk said she would check our package to see what we signed up for. She gave us our gift bag and packet with key , etc. in.
Upon getting to room , there was only 2 of the 4 breakfast coupons and no Macy's coupon.
When we went back to the desk, the one clerk said they were out of coupons, but the other clerk gave us one.
The room was fine, we did not have the room cleaned so we can't say anything about the housekeeping staff.

Upon opening the room door, it was evident someone already occupied the room. I went back to the front desk, only to stand in line because only one desk attendant. I was told at checkin they were out of complimentary bottled water, no big deal. But when returning to the desk, other guests were offered pop. Desk attendant offered two free breakfasts, but I was leaving at 6am (breakfast not available until 7am). No other amends offered. I will not stay at this Holiday Inn again, nor recommend it to anyone.

Bad check-in experience but okay stay. Never got internet pass-code and they missed my wake-up calls, but they recovered nicely with better service. Hotel is much older than it looks, needs upgrading. Good water pressure on shower.

Terrific stay. Upgraded me to a great room on the 6th floor (platinum) and a free beverage at the bar upon checkin. Super friendly and efficient. I was worried about the planes flying directly overhead, but they didn't affect my sleep as I barely heard them inside. Nice atmosphere too.

We stayed at the Eagan location using the Park and Fly program. Our flight was early (6:00 am) so we went to bed quite early. Unfortunately the airplanes flying over the hotel every 5 minutes kept us awake most of the night. It seemed they were not more than a few hundred feet above the 6th floor. (we were on the 4th floor) Even with the curtains closed we could clearly see the headlights!
On the positive side, the room was very comfortable, the restaurant/bar was very nice with a good food selection. We were surprised the room did not have a small refrig...hmmm!

We stayed overnight for my son's 2nd birthday. We had a few of his cousins over to swim, (they also stayed the night in the room next to us). We loved that the pool area was not crowded, the staff was friendly, the room was clean & comfortable, (although there was a strange smell in the bathroom). Also, our two kids loved the breakfast in the morning. All of the food was fresh and high quality, and they fueled up for a little more swimming before leaving. We had a great night and would highly recommend this hotel again!
