Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mlch95 Comfortable beds and great breakfast
We stayed at this location Saturday July 13th . It was quite busy due to the Highland games that weekend. We were amazed at how quiet the hotel was, heard people in the parking lot Sunday morning but no noise overnight in hallways or rooms above or below us. Breakfast was very good, had to wait in line but staff made sure to keep all items stocked. Did notice carpet in lobby was covered in grass, assuming this was due to people who had been at the games Saturday, it was a wet weekend.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mia7 People at the front desk were very unprofessional.
We were the only couple at check in and they were so busy behind the desk not a smile or an nod for awhile. The woman in charge was not friendly at all and just wanted it done and over with.
Person with caring for the breakfast was complaining at the front desk.
The keyboard at the guest computer was filthy and lop sided. The room was great and so were the maids.
The $ for one night is overpriced.

Front desk staff was welcoming and helpful in making local recommendations. Room was fine except for makeup stained sheet which they quickly changed after being notified.
The breakfast room could have been cleaner and someone should vacuum those steps down to the lobby.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rich5555 Comfortable and good location
Our stay was pleasant for we got away and enjoyed Art in the Park. The room was very clean and the staff was nice. Breakfast was great and check out was easy. Air condition and fridge were on the noisy side but expected. My only gripe is with the price. It is not a 150 dollar a night room. We have enjoed Hoiliday Inns in the past but feel we are being priced out. 1 dollar discount for AAA is a joke. Again we did enjoy our visit but the cost is questionable.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RIFinNC Good Option for Blowing Rock / Boone Area
The rooms, pool and lobby were clean, staff was nice and the overall value was excellent.
The breakfast room was/is too small for the overall facility and people camped out eating their breakfast in the lobby or in their rooms. More "healthy" breakfast options and fruit (bananas only) could be offered.
We'd definely consider coming back though; as the location is great.

The hotel was perfect for our trip to Tweetsie Railroad. We brought our 5 year old grandson for his dream cowboy vacation. The hotel was very clean and the service was great. Daniel was so friendly and became our front desk favorite. Breakfast was really good too!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MtnHiker Nice stay
The hotel was very nice, clean and well worth the value. The only complaint I have was at breakfast. Many other reviewers have complained about the same thing, not enough room. You had better get there early or else you'll be finding somewhere else to eat. It closed at 9:30 and the line was so long that I had to load my plate up the first time because there was no time left for seconds. They have a pancake machine that never seemed to work and it caused everyone to wait and wait and wait. Did I mention you had to wait on the pancake machine?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grovers1 Motorcycle Friendly
Riding the Blue Ridge, this property is in the perfect location to take advantage of the many NC roads. This Inn has special covered parking for motorcycles, plus cleaning rags. The rooms, staff and facility are among the best this chain has to offer. Highly recommend the pickin BBQ and Outback, walking distance of the Inn. And Main Street, enjoy Kilwins home made fudge and ice cream in the park. Highly Recommend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BAT2138 Pleasantly Surprised
Due to bad experiences in the past with Holiday Inn Express, I was pleasantly surprised at the immense overall improvements that have been made to the chain. Staying at the Blowing Rock establishment was most enjoyable. The front desk staff were very friendly, the room was very clean, modern and no unpleasant odors. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I will not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to friends.

Staff were very welcoming! The room was clean and comfortable. Motorcycle friendly with up-front parking and wipe down towels upon request. After a long day in the saddle, it was nice to relax for the evening. The BBQ shop next door is highly recommended too.

I went to Blowing Rock to get away from everything here in Charlotte for a few days and had an absolute wonderful time! The staff was very nice and answered all of my questions about the area for me and went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible while I stayed with them! Thank You!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kb57 Wonderful Stay!
We stayed for a whole week with not one issue. The room was spotless - not one hair in bathroom or on beds. Front desk was very helpful with surrounding area, restaurants, directions around road construction, wi-fi, etc. Cleaning services were efficient - one day they cleaned while were were there and went quickly and were friendly. Breakfast was quite good with lots of choices & a variety each day - a little crowded but staff was o.k. with people using lobby seating to relax & eat. Great location, just outside of Boone (larger city), close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, The Blowing Rock, and "downtown" Blowing Rock - a quaint street with shops & restaurants. Local restaurants close to hotel were excellent & family friendly. We were very happy with our stay. Two "wishes" would be that the breakfast time would last later in the morning & that there would be park benches in the grassy area behind the hotel to relax & enjoy the mountain breeze & view in the evenings.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kmb5 nice facility in beautiful area
This hotel was maintained well and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only dislike was that they upped my room charge on the weekend even though I had booked the room for 8 consecutive nights..I feel that the lower rate should be honored when customer is staying that length of time.

This location is a great location to stay in Blowing Rock. It is not in the busy congested area, but not far from it. We found this appealing due to being able to navigate the area easy. Several restaurants are within walking distance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent Value for the Price
The room was clean, comfortable and up to date. The Staff were very helpful and the breakfast included pancakes, sausage, eggs and biscuits among the usual assortment of cakes, cereal and juices that you might expect. The pool was large , roomy and clean. If you're looking for a place that will give you the comforts of the larger chains without breaking the bank than this is it. It was also close to a lot of the attractions I was interested in and away from the hustle and bustle of the Boone/Appalachian State area.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by K9999 Oversites
The motel is comfortable and the price is OK. The breakfast is good, but there are oversites that detract significantly from the overall comfort of the room. There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom which causes the room to be steamy after a shower and allows odors to linger after one uses the toilet. Because of the counter over the toilet, the toilet seat will not stay in the raised position without being held. The lamp between the two beds did not allow one person to read in bed without shining in the face of the other person who was trying to sleep. On our departure day, one elevator was out of service.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jmlsnorth Great Service and a pool that was actually heated
We booked at the Hoiday Inn in blowing rock as a last minute spring break getaway before the kids went back to school. The location was great! It was away from all the hustle of Boone and located close to the outlet mall. The staff at the front desk was very nice & answered all our questions. The pool was on the small side but it was heated & the kids enjoyed the pool for a couple of hours before bedtime. The room was very clean & adequate for our needs. The free breakfast was good and had a variety of hot & cold items. We go to the Boone/ Blowing Rock area often for overnight & weekend getaways and we have found the only hotel we will be staying at when we are in the area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Livie Very impressed, great value
My husband booked us here for a 2-night getaway. I was a little wary since I don't travel much and when I do we normally stay in resorts. I was COMPLETELY impressed with our entire stay. Very friendly and helpful staff and extremely clean hotel. Our room was updated nicely, very clean, comfy bed and I loved the shower pressure and temperature (hot as I wanted). We both loved the breakfast each morning... wonderful selection, clean, tasty. Nice indoor pool. Wonderful value, we would definitely stay here again!

Was able to book only one of the two nights we wanted to stay in Blowing Rock. The hotel management assisted us after the fact in being able to stay the additional night in the same room with the same rate. They were very helpful and intent on making our stay a memorable one.

When staying in Blowing Rock , you won't beat the Holiday Inn Express for value and comfort. The breakfast, the clean rooms,
pool, exercise room, lobby, all make for a return trip to this Holiday
Inn Express. I and my wife both rate these guys highly for the job they do to make your stay a True Holiday.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sarge1955 Brown Water
Brown water is what we faced every time we ran the water...We were told let it run for 30 minutes and then it will be OK.... It wasn't...It is difficult to want to brush your teeth and take a shower when you turn on the water and it is brown...
Plus...why is there never chocolate milk for breakfast....it is the
same price and parents with children would appreciate it and evern us big kids...
Other than that .....everything else was great......
