Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Hotel I often choose to stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotels. This particular trip was for business, and the hotel was located within walking distance of the T. The staff was helpful , and the breakfast was great. There were a few kinks with the room...kind of loud A/C wall unit and a refrigerator that clicks. Otherwise it was very good stay, and I would consider staying here again. September 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable beds and great service We booked a room with two beds over the internet with online payment. Everything went smoothly and our check-in was simple and quick. Our room was too our expectations, large with king size beds (2). Very clean sheets and after a very good night of sleep we woke and went down for a very good assortment of food items for breakfast. One of the best I have had in the many years I travelled on business (now retired). Good shuttle service and front desk personnel that are courteous. The three of us were very happy about our stay, and will recommend to friends from the Montreal area that they drop-in when visiting Boston. Richard September 12, 2014

The hotel is close enough to the airport that it only takes about 10 - 15 minutes on the shuttle. The shuttle was prompt and the driver very helpful with our bags. The rooms are spacious and clean. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Clean rooms, but overall unsatisfied I recently stayed at this Holiday Inn Express and although it was clean, there were many other areas that the hotel lacked in. The air conditioner in our room did not work properly. For our entire stay the room was hot and uncomfortable. Also, the wifi access (although free) was EXTREMELY slow. The front desk staff, for the most part did not seem happy to help us. Although, Gina (front desk) was more than helpful. She went ablove and beyond offering suggestions onplaces to go and how to get there. She was the saving grace. We absolutely adored her. Very pleasant. September 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Welcoming Comfortable Hotel We were welcomed to the hotel when we arrived via the airport shuttle. We weren't there long before we were out to explore Boston. This hotel is very convenient to the Andrew Station subway stop and the shuttle took us there (and picked us up) daily. It gives you an affordable option to stay in Boston without the high cost. There is also a shopping center right behind the property that was very convenient. Breakfast was self serve but consisted of eggs, hot and cold cereals, bagels, breads, waffles, yogurts, fruit, teas and juices. Water was always available in the lobby and fresh baked cookies showed up at 6pm each night! When we returned each night, whomever was working the desk always made sure to greet us and ask us about our day. We felt very welcome and comfortable here and will be back. Each bed (two doubles) had four pillows to select from, which were labeled as soft or firm. The beds were comfortable and we never heard any noise in the hall or adjoining rooms. August 26, 2014

At check in, overheard a guest telling staff that her car was stolen from the parking lot. Staff was very accommodating throughout. Shuttle service provided to/from nearest T station (again, walking distance to hotel, but shady neighborhood). Walked it with the family, but only during daylight hours. Smartly waited in 24 hr. D&D for late night return shuttle. Convenient because parking in down town Boston is too pricey. Informed at check in that I'd get 300 bonus points as Platinum member, however I got 500 bonus points just 2 days earlier at a different HIE(?). Overall, price was best in Boston...quick drive to Sam Adams, Harpoon, and JFK Library. Helpful, cheerful staff. No pool, but secret access to sister hotel's pool next door. August 25, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst IHG experience I've ever had! I stay at a lot of hotels, many of which are IHG hotels, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had at an IHG hotel! We were checking in late (around midnight# and my wife went to look for a parking space while I went to check in. There was no bell at the desk and nobody to be seen. I had to yell to find someone to check me in. I got the key and went back outside to help my wife with the luggage. She was unable to find a space, so she parked at the end of a row next to the last actual space, and I said I'd go back to the desk to ask about additional parking after I helped her with the luggage. We got to the room and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Normally, we'd go ask for another room, but I had a really early flight in the morning, so we weren't going to be there long, and I just wanted to get to sleep. I went down to the desk to ask about parking because I didn't want to get a ticket, but again, there was nobody at the desk. I hollered again, but this time nobody came, so I went back to the room and called from the room phone. On the phone, I was told that we were supposed to get a parking pass to hang in our window and that we could park at the hotel next door. Why on Earth was I not told this when I checked in?! At this point, I was already furious because it would have saved me a bit of time if the guy at the desk #who also wasn't very friendly) had told me about the parking when I checked in. Finally, I got back to the room, and I was ready for bed. My wife wanted to take a shower before bed, but she found the shower to be filthy. There were numerous hairs stuck to the wall! The toilette was also disgusting and also had hairs on the seat! She was too upset to go to bed, and by the time we both calmed down and fell asleep, it was almost time to get up. I ended up over-sleeping and missed my flight. Honestly, we'd have been better off sleeping in the airport. August 22, 2014

The final night, several days later, was booked the same day as our arrival. The reason we chose it for our final night in Boston was because of our favorable experience earlier. The room was always clean, with plenty of towels and toiletries. The breakfast was very good; we were spoiled by the variety and the staff replenishing quickly. The only "negative" comments are that the room smelled a little musty when we returned in the evenings (but turning the air conditioner to a lower temperature resolved this) and that there was sometimes a brief loud noise (in the pipes?), which seemed to be related to flushing the toilet. The bed was just a 'tad' too hard for comfortable sleeping and the in-room AC made 'noises' during the night. The Complimentary Breakfast had abundant offerings and varied between days, all of which were NOT bland with respect to taste. The lobby, common areas, and room were clean and staff did their best to keep it that way throughout the day. The location is good, in respect to access to Boston attractions, though outside of easy walking distance, with use of local taxis. Unless going to 'established' stops on the Courtesy Shuttle's route or the airport, the Shuttle is not an effective method of transportation. This hotel is Handicapped Accessible, within reason - not really wheelchair accessible, but 'workable' for those that are 'mobility impaired'. August 18, 2014
