I have stayed at this hotel before and was pleasently impressed with the service even with no benefits available for being a Platinum member.
Unfortunately this time round I discovered that you can get a discount for parking which was not mentioned before on my previous visit at checkin.I found this out from another customer not even the staff.
Also this time round the hotel ran out of on tap beer and REFUSED to give discount on bottle beer even to a Platinum member, the manager walks around without a name tag/badge his reply was IT IS WHAT IT IS not even SORRY.
Not that it makes any difference to you, Im only one person who will look at alternative hotels.I have relised there are other hotels around the area with there own car parking and probably air conditioned rooms.
Its ashame I have to write this review just aweek ago I was singing praises for this hotel. Now its the total opposite.
I will be signing up for other hotels loyalty schemes.

This Hotel is 5 mins walk from Bradford Interchange Station.
We were staying here to visit Railway Museum in York, which is such an expensive city to stay.
Room was clean and well equipped.
This is our second stay here and certainly will not be our last.
It is always excellent value for money.

Being a regular visitor to Holiday Inn Bradford we generally have a good stay. One or two niggles with our last stay though. The TV desperately needs upgrading: the colour kept on disappearing and it was impossible to take advantage of the comimentary movie as the manager informed us the TVs were so old we would not be able to access the movie channels.
I can never access the hotels wifi either in the rooms or the public areas.
This time there was also very limited breakfast items. Even thugh we went to breakfast quite early, 8.00am, there were no croissants and only 2 varieties of cereal on offer.

This hotel is in a very convenient location for sight seeing in Bradford and travelling further a field via trains or buses. The transport interchange is across the road. The Hotel is high up offering lovely views over the city to the Yorkshire countryside.Breakfast offered just about anything you would want to eat early in the morning. All the staff I came into contact with were very helpful and friendly.Just outside the entrance to the hotel are several restaurants if you did not want to eat in the hotel or venture too far into the cityThere is also a cinema and bowling alley nearby..

I stayed at the holiday in express as I was working in bradford, and whilst the hotel was very comfortable, the room clean; it was the staff who really stood out for me. From the moment I arrived to the moment I checked out every member of staff was so friendly and helpful.
The only thing that would have been better, would have been bacon at breakfast :)

Very safe hotel! Slept so well as beds were sooooo comfy. They changed the towels every day even though they said it would be every 2 days. A big bonus for me. The staff were friendly and courteous - nothing too much trouble. Everything you need for a great stay. Thank you Holiday Inn.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SuzieB Room was very comfortable, clean and staff very friendly.
We've stayed here at least once or twice every year since it first opened. Each time we have received a very warm welcome from the staff, good service and a comfortable, clean bedroom and bathroom. We particularly like the low-level spacious shower.
The bar lounge area has comfortable seating to sit and relax. It is also well served by various food outlets, a cinema, cash point machines, casino, gaming machines and bar + family area - all within 30 second walk from the entrance to the hotel. A multi-storey car park is also a stone's throw away and you can get your ticket stamped at the hotel reception for a discount. Very reasonable parking prices too.
We usually use the hotel as a base and particularly enjoyed our day out in Saltaire (approx. 1/2 hour car ride) visiting the Saltaire Mill. If you enjoy looking at interesting buildings, history, art, books, antiques, nostalgia. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at The Old Tram Shed.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Katie24 All fantastic!!! Well except the breakfast...
Very happy with the hotel experience the whole hotel was very safe and secure especially the parking area. Very pleasant communal areas, the bedrooms were well presented and clean. The bathroom was clean, tidy and well lit. I would have liked complimentary shampoo included as standard but this was available on request. But for the low price I paid I was pleasantly surprised how much my money did get me.
The only disappointment was the breakfast, the breakfast area was very cramped and it was tricky to get through without knocking into anyone. The breakfast selection was extremely limited and wasn't particularly nice. The cereals and juice were nice, but the cooked breakfast (which let's face it is the main reason for getting a hotel breakfast!) was very poor. The only options were shrivelled sausages, scrambled eggs and beans.
Great value for money, comfy and pleasantly decorated, just avoid the breakfast.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by kitty1960 5 * Staff
I stay here weekly on business and do a review every now and again. I have been staying since March and will continue for at least another 3 months. If this was not an excellent base I would not stay.
Whether you are on business or pleasure this Hotel is an ideal base for Bradford/Leeds or west yorkshire in general.
I must give the staff an extra special mention. I have travelled far and wide and stayed from 2* to 5* +, and have rarely encountered staff attitudes so helpful as Bradford Holiday Inn Express. 5* customer service well done and thanks.
On a more general note if you are thinking of staying with a child the rooms are large enough to accommodate the pull down bed with ample room to spare. Rooms are clean and free internet access is a bonus. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel for either business or pleasure. \date of last stay 3rd June 13

I stay a week here. It was tricky to find from the road but managed to work out how to park and get to the hotel. The room was very basic and I was surprised to find out there isnt a restaurant! But there are some local fast food restaurants opposite which was convenient. Car parking was a few pounds each night and close to the hotel. Staff were nice.

My overall experience was fantastic and would definable recommend as well come back again if ever we were visiting Bradford. To begin with I only needed 2 rooms next to one another which we got thanks to the manager Waqas. On the day we required another room which again the manager was great as he managed to book and find a sofa bed. The reviews from December had made us cautious however wee did not experience any problems! The rooms were clean, spacious and very warm taking into account the recent cold weather. Slept rather well and would definitely return with my family :-)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by kitty1960 Excellent City Centre Location Excellent & Friendly Reception Staff.
I stayed in this Hotel for business and found the staff to be very pleasant and nothing too much trouble.
I stayed for 3 nights and a bit of an issue with housekeeping as my room had not been cleaned. Not a major issue but I needed clean towels for shower. Reception staff however very accomodating.
As a prospective long term business user maybe it would be nice to have a choice of bacon or sausage. For guests staying the weekend this I believe would enhance their stay.
Overall I would recommend and I was also impressed by the security in that to access the bedrooms a room key was needed to access the floor as well as the room itself.
As a single female traveller I felt the area was safe which is a major issue for returning from late meetings, nights out etc.
Another bonus for me was internet access.
My one criticism would be that I found the room to be a little chilly on an evening (but is was in the middle of the dreadful unexpected snowfall.) If irons are available I would suggest that there could be some provision made to borrow a small room heater.
Improvements for me would be to upgrade the TV's to include more Freeview chanels this is maybe not so much an issue for the holiday guest but as a business user it would be nicer to have more choice. Having said that there is always accesss to the internet if you have your computer/tablet.
Overall I am looking to stay weekly at this hotel for the next 6 months and this is something I would not contemplate if I was not happy with the service and standards.

This location while not right in the centre of town is close enough and has a cinema, bowling alley and 4 restaurants in the same complex so is very convenient for the business traveller.
The bar is rather limited in choice but the staff make up for it by being very friendly and welcoming while remaining very efficient.

The holiday inn bradford was overall a very nice clean hotel. but in the room the window would not close properly, therefore we was really cold. we complained and there was only twin rooms which was not anygood to us. I complained in the morning but did not get a refund or discount wish was not fare. I was cold all night and got a headache. This is the second time this has happened in the same hotel. Apart from the poor heating and damaged window everything else was good. The room was clean and comfy. I had made a complaint to customer services who are now dealing with it, lets see what happens.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Angela37 Rooms below average
The rooms are very poorly lit. There is inadequate light in the rooms and it leaves you struggling to do any paperwork.
The breakfast is the only place in HI where you have to ask for items as they are not replaced. We had to wait for beans and was told that they are being "cooked" . On another occasion there were no bread we had to ask and a few slices were brought out. This is a serious issue which needs to be dealt with.
The staff are friendly it depends who you get.
There is a charge for the car park (be warned) and there is a good walk from the car park to the hotel if you got number of luggage..
The bedrooms to the front of the hotel are the best. The decor is outdated.
The location is very central and there is free wi fi which is the saving grace

Stayed here last year over a period of time and found very little improvement.
The bedrooms are basic, old and dated. For example tv is the old type whereas in other Holiday Inns they have flat screens. The carpets have stains and some bedding have cigarette burns.
The lighting in the room is very poor. You can have several little lights scattered in the room switched on and still find you are straining your eyes. It could do with a large central light in the room.
There is a charge in the car park but you can have a discount of one pound if you get the hotel to validate your ticket. In all it can cost less then £4.00 depending how long you stay.
The best rooms are at the front but can be noisy due to traffic.
The best thing is the free internet and the location. Staff can be very helpful at times.

Stains on sofa cushions and tears in sofa covers.
Food waste on tray in corridor at the time I checked in, still there when I went to breakfast in the morning. Mould in the grout in the shower. Cracks in the basin. Poor signage to hotel car park that unlike other HIEs I have stayed at is not included in the price.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by joner0a Comfortable room but poor facilities
I stayed 2 nights at the Bradford City Centre hotel : 1-3 December. The rooms were comfortable but the hotel services and amenities were very disappointing. One of the lifts to the hotel reception was broken and had been so for several months I was told. The vending machine in the reception area was out of order during my stay. Most worryingly I reported that wiring and a switch device in the coridoor I was staying which looked like it was part of the alarm systems was hanging out of the wall. It was a week-end but I was quite alarmed that it had not been attended to when I left on Monday morning and when I enquired of the staff I was told that there was no manager in attendance so I'm concerned that a potential health and safety issue may not have been reported. Breakfast was disappointing - a lot of items had run out and had not been replenished. The scrambled egg selection seemed to be made from powder and to be honest was not that appetising. I accept that the hotel prices are in the budget range but the breakfast could have been a lot better presented.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by peasepottage What - No Breakfast!
I'm a seasoned guest at Holiday Inns and Expresses and have never stayed at any hotel in the chain where there is no breakfast - Until now.
Breakfast seems to have run out way before the 09:30 cut off time.
Guests were queuing in expectation of some replenishment taking place, but it never happened.
Literally everything had gone, not even a yoghurt, juice ran out and the milk in the machine was off (according to one guest with a baby). I think there might have been some brown bread and jam.
Not a good day for IHG!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chewie Another gem
Inside the inner Ring Road (just) a 5 minute amble even for me from both Rail Stations in Bradford. New, clean, nice layout - the sun was streaming in through the panoramic windows for breakfast. Breakfast - Saturday seemed to confuse them as there were a fair few of us down for the start of breakfast and the seemed to be topping up not quite as fast as it was being taken - but that is a hard balance - I'd complain if the food had been there for hours. Sunday was a bit better, but I left it until nine-ish. Nice to have cereals in dispensers rather than packets, but that's a personal thing.
Free Wi-Fi - MAKE sure you ask for the codes on arrival - they do NOT offer them and when you get to your room there are SPECIAL offers on the internet usage.
The lift needs a good talking to. It has no idea what floor it is stopping on, so don't be surprised to be told you are on floor three - when it is four. Car Parking - use the multi storey as suggested - the price HAS gone up a bit - but for good parking, 24 hours comes out at something like £4.00 - make sure you get your ticket validated at the reception desk.
A nice place to stop for a weekend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ajcars Excellent customer service but....................!
One very important thing is the failure to repair the faulty lift.
I have already specified the same issue in my earlier questionnaire but I must say I have to mention it once again this time too! How come it has to take so long to fix? It has been faulty for quite a few months now.
Please, whoever is responsible, do something to solve this continuous ailing problem!
