Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Choice for Visiting Boston This hotel is a great choice for those who want to visit Boston. We were a party of 4 visiting Boston- area universities. Location was perfect. Hotel was very quiet and very clean. Easy to find and near South Shore Mall with plenty of shopping and dining options including Legal Sea Foods and Cheesecake Factory. Hotel has FREE shuttle service to and from Quincy Adams T station which can take you into Boston in only 40-45 minutes. Leave the car at the hotel and take the train. It's easy and quick and you avoid all the traffic. Breakfast is somewhat limited but it did include cheese omelets, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, etc. Sure filled us up. Staff was very accommodating and we had no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend Holiday Inn Express Braintree and will definitely stay again! July 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Won't visit there anymore. I will start with good things because it is short. Pros - Its surroundings are quite silent. - The room was clean. Cons - They didn't recognize me as a Platinum member, and the front desk staff even humiliated us: I booked this hotel by using Citi Thankyou points. I wasn't sure if they could recognize my membership status because there were no quarries to put my membership number when booked. So I sent them an email that asks to recognize me as a Platinum member. They didn't reply it, so I called them and sent another email. They replied that the complimentary room upgrade is unavailable, which was totally fine. But at least they could have ample chance to recognize my membership status. When checking in, I asked to check my membership status and they eventually told us that they didn't know that we are Platinum members. One of staffs even said like "you have just xxxx points in your account!" Her attitude was so uncomfortable that I didn't know what to say at that time. Do you always recognize members with current points? The main reason why we chose this hotel is that we had been very satisfied with subtle but nice services as a Platinum member when staying other IHG hotels. Maybe other IHG hotels recognition for Platinum members is peculiarly nice. - Internet access was horrible. I should have been more attentive to read previous visitors' reviews. When I talked to the desk, his response was like he never experienced or got reported any problems with wifi. In short, they didn't recognize the wireless internet access is one of their problems even though many have reported in their reviews. - I woke up with a drilling sound every morning. I happened to meet guests right next to my room who claimed a complaint to the front office about the loud drilling sounds. It seems they were told that WE made the noise. How could it be possible that we woke up with the drilling sounds by making the drilling sounds? July 3, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor attitude from Manager 3 Day stay at this hotel Construction going on during my stay. When asking the front desk about places to eat and shop at the manager answered that there are no places to eat and that i would have to call a taxi. Inquired about shuttle, rude answer from manager that the shuttle will only run until 6:00 p.m. I must take a taxi if I want to go anywhere or i come back from the subway. Rude service and attitude from management. Do not stay here. July 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting the Boston area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very clean. The breakfast was nice and there was a wide variety of items to choose from. The hotel is close to the subway, we were able to get to the subway station to park our car in less than 10 minutes. I would stay here again. July 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by confortable bed, great staff Great staff, Angela was very helpful, all hotels needs someone like her,,, thanks June 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Totally undersells the local amenities! There is only one place to go and eat and have a drink if you only want to walk, it's called F1 and it's 150yds up the hill. Freshly showered and ready to sit down for a drink and bite to eat I discovered that F1 is not only a restaurant but a Go Kart track! Up to 12 karts racing each other at 45mph round a specially made indoor track. I had clean clothes and the wrong shoes on otherwise I would definitely have had a go, for a lonesome traveller how perfect. If the HIE had actually told me the full details of F1 I would have gone prepared, then had my beer and dinner. Obviously they won't let you drive after drinking beer, but for a weary businessman this is a brilliant distraction. I had asked at reception where if there were any restaurants and was informed of F1. I asked if the food was any good and the young lady said she didn't know as she'd never been. Personally I think the hotel should promote the venue as it would be a great place for a group of friends to enjoy a night out, the hotel is even close enough to return to shower before dinner! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean but Small rooms No problem with the hotel being clean, but the room was very small. The vanity is located in the room itself as the bathroom was hardly big enough for the toilet and shower. The room had double beds, not queen beds. The breakfast area is also small with not enough seats for guests trying to eat breakfast. Had to take it back to the room or eat standing up. Not the "great room" that many HI Exp have. The internet often became very slow in the evening. Good signal strength, but not adequate bandwidth to serve the property and allow for real work to get done. This is all too common at many hotels. To some it may be a minor point, but I was not greeted as a Priority Club Member, key was not ready, etc. Things I have come to expect and appreciate at IHG properties. Although a good price for the Boston area and a decent location, the trade-off is a a older hotel that misses some important marks. I have cancelled my future reservations here and will be staying elsewhere in Boston the rest of the summer (21 room nights thru August) May 13, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay Older hotel, redone and clean. A little expensive for the type of facility but, good location for the Southshore. May 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience I love the staff. Very personable. Nice business office and very convenient to all the key Boston/ Eastern Massachusetts areas. February 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very Mediocre Overall front desk was very friendly as was most staff. Room was a bit worn and needing some dated compared to most HI Express. The breakfast is as skimpy as you'd find at a HI Express. Coffee is cheap and horrible, obvious they're more interested in cutting costs with generic sweet n low and won't provide guests something as simple as splenda for coffee. Just seems obvious the management is more concerned about cutting costs to the bone then the guest experience. January 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Breakfast OK place to stay...breakfast needs a lot of help...lacking variety and freshness....frony desk was very helpful and friendly...room was clean and modern... January 16, 2013
