On my previous visit Upon check-in I was given the key to a room that was already occupied and walked in to the room when the guy was on the phone to his girlfriend - highly embarrassing !
This time the battery had run out on the door lock so it looked like the same thing had happened. It took me a couple of walks up and down the stairs too get in. Next morning same again - couldn't get into the room and they finally, after a ten minute wait let me in the room.
Each time I have stayed here the breakfast has not been refreshed and just a few scraps left. The sausages are so bad that I can't eat them t hey must be so cheap, they even smell vile !
Oh well at least I can check-out and get out of the place NO CHANCE - one receptionist on the phone taking a reservation and the other one outside having a cigarette. She came back in and walked straight past me and sat in the office in plain sight from the front desk. After 5 mins she comes out and asked the person behind me if he is being served - totally ignoring me ! I pointed out that I was waiting and finally got checked out and on my way. I will NEVER stay here again.

Chose this hotel because they allowed us to have the dog with us. Overall we found the experience good. Breakfast left a lot to be desired as we didn't get in til 9.05 & seemed to be left with 'dregs' (served from 5.30 -9.30) - the sausages left had obviously been at bottom of pile from early morning - they were so hard even the dog couldn't crunch them when I took them out to her! No staff around at that time to ask for more food. Spent a pleasant evening in the bar the night we arrived, only criticism would be that there was only one choice of bitter for my partner that was a smooth which he doesn't drink - maybe think about stocking few bottles of real ale for choice. Food was okay that night - not fantastic, limited menu & obviously bought in pre-packed frozen but as only staying the one night it suited its purpose. One other suggestion would be a couple of well placed bins outside specifically for disposal of doggie bags. We will return as our points aren't major & are more observations. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff team.

We could not fault the room but the breakfast left a lot to be desired.The toaster was not working properly and deposited the toast at the back of the machine,There was a problem with the orange juice which was like water with a dash of orange but the staff were helpful but obviously working with items of kitchen equipment which needed servicing.

This Holiday inn Express is clean & quiet with plenty of parking spaces. Breakfast was good as a continental included in rate meal. Reception / Bar staff and the lady working Breakfast were all very pleasant, welcoming & helpful.
The Room was clean and roomy and the shower very good.
2 adverse comments> There was virtually no choice of TV channels. A good sectuion of the car park was not lit.

Only scrambled eggs, sausage, beans, cereals and fruit available for breakfast. This was fine and adequate as it was a Holiday Inn Express. I think the sausages could be better but that's a matter of taste. I am diabetic and would have liked some cereals available with less sugar. e.g. Shredded Wheat or Weetabix.
A most enjoyable stay. No hesitation about returning again.

Had a very comfortable stay. Was disappointed though, that dead on 10 am (on a Sunday) although the breakfast room had upwards of 5 families in there, the staff came and turned EVERYTHING off and took absolutely everything away within 2 minutes. While I can appreciate that the cooked food can't stay out there any longer than 3 hours, it would have been nice to have had another tea and maybe a pastry.

That said, the staff were great and room was clea, my overall experience was good but I would never take the breakfast as a freebie the variety and quality of the ingredients were questionable.

Never staying in. Holiday inn express before, and didn't have great expections, so the stay exceeded my expectations. It's was all good. I couldn't sleep as the hallway light was shining brightly through the crack in the door. However was still good, the staff were EXCELLENT.
