Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Improvement Needed As reported to reception attention to the window in room 28 is in urgent need of attention. The problem made the room very cold, in addition the bed was very uncomfortable because of a big dip in the middle of the mattress. January 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Recent stay A fine hotel and what you come to expect for the group and cost. A clean and tidy hotel of the modern type that I have stayed in previously and seems to be their corporate style. The breakfast was hot and of a reasonable choice. Choice of beverage at bar was restrictive but my pint was good. Staff were all friendly and attentive from start to finish of stay. I liked my double bed and the room accordingly looked spacious, it was very clean and tidy. All linen and towels were clean and good repair. Would stay again if in the area at this hotel, January 10, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1st class Hotel and Service We have stayed at a few hotels over the last twelve months, both in the UK and Overseas and this Hotel in Braintree rates as one of the best, even against the 5* in Spain. We only had the one night there for New years Eve and it was very busy which was great to see, as we have seen this Hotel since it was first built. From our arrival until our departure it was very good and excellent value for money. We had read the Reviews before and I saw someone had made comments about the Breakfast, but lets be fair about that, unless you wanted to eat just for the sake of it, there was ample food and it was included in the Rate for the room. Our previous Hotel stay was in November 14 at a Premier Hotel, where the rooms are not as good as at this Hotel, you pay more for the room and then a lot more for Breakfast. So well done all the Staff. We will be back. January 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel very helpful staff I recently stayed at this hotel over Christmas for 5 days and was very comfortable, the staff were very helpful and overal a good stay. The only down side was the breakfast could be improved. I had one bad night when a wedding party retured to the hotel and were very noisy, this is not the hotels fault just very inconsiderate other guest. I will be revisiting this hotel. January 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dog Friendly Everything at this Holiday Inn Express was as you would expect for this brand of hotel, comfortable, good quality, and accessible. What made our stay exceptional was the way the staff went out of their way to accommodate our dog. There are 'dog friendly hotels' and 'dog tolerant' hotels - this is definitely a dog friendly hotel.
