we were on a family vacation with our kids and grandchildren. we traveled up the east coast. we always rent two rooms in the hotels. our experience with the holiday inn express was great. could have some bacon added to the menu and biscuits and gravey for breakfast. staff was wonderful. very helpful. always had coffee available. very friendly and accomodating for all our needs. great experience.

This is our second time at this property. great location. great staff. received upgrade with our platinum status. pool was nice. room was wonderful. we look forward to the third time!

Walls are like paper. Pool is awful--terribly hot and stuffy. Jacuzzi tub did not work properly. Security doors propped open. NOISY--could not sleep.

Swimming pool was not operating but I didn't receive any information before arriving the hotel. The front staffs said sorry but I felt they were forced. My children very disappointed with that.
Don't forget to check credit card statement. I found that they charged mistakenly $50 in credit card account. I should contact with them to get refund.

The HIE Branford per-night rate is about twice the HIE 20 miles away in Meriden. I'm sure there's a reason (location) but both hotels are similar and I stayed in Branford this time only because I had sufficient rewards.
The Branford hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff are pleasant and helpful. We had some trouble with the key cards but not a big deal - those things happen from time to time.
The internet was choppy on this visit but normally it works well. Noise insulation between rooms could be better but I've also had worse.
Overall, Holiday Inn does a good job and the IHG credit card and rewards program is a good value.

I have stayed at many Holiday Inns - and have always been happy with the service at the chain - but the staff at this particular location were especially attentive, friendly, and responsive. I'd gladly stay here again.

Broken lamp in the room, also missing a bulb.
Internet that bogs down, with the front desk just giving the ISP telephone number even though their connection wasn't working either.
Lots of wear and tear.
A different set of names on the management business card rack almost every time we visit.
On the other hand, the bedding is better than a couple of years ago, and the place was clean.

Pool was not operational during our stay. Breakfast was great and the staff were very nice. I would stay here again if I knew for sure the pool was working.
