The location seems Like it fronts on a poor, industrial side street area , and it gets worse from there. The lobby was old, run down and about 90 degrees when we arrived. The clerk was friendly. My room was tiny. That might be the usual for the area, but that's where the acceptability ends. Instead of a closet there was a small wardrobe that looked like it had been taken from someone's trash. The small dresser had an area worn to bare wood and matched the wardrobe. The door didn't fit, a drawer didn't close well and when I pulled out the desk chair it looked like it had been shredded by a lion. The toilet had a dark gray ring around the inside of the bowl. The sheet had creases in it when I pulled the cover down. The room looked out on the back of a block building and the hotel dump area filled with old mattresses, box springs and other items of furniture. My mistake was not complaining immediately, but after a 14 hour day of driving all I wanted to do was sleep. I'm including pictures confirming everything I've described and I'm forwarding them to Holiday Inn Corporate offices as well. This place has the look and feel of a converted, short stay motel with almost no upgrades. The included breakfast was up to standards. Whoever is responsible for maintaining, reviewing and correcting problems before a guest opens the door should be severely reprimanded.

The room was tiny, but it had everything that one would expect in a hotel room. It was perfectly clean. The hair dryer broke the second I turned it on and smoke started coming out of it. The staff was extremely nice and had the entire hair dryer unit replaced in the bathroom within 20 minutes. The staff was also really helpful in answering my questions about the city and calling rides for me. Overall, this was the least expensive hotel around, and although the room was so small you could hardly turn around in it, I think it was comparable to other hotels in the area since space is so expensive in NYC.

I have stayed here for business and always return. It is clean, the staff is very accommodating and beds are good.
Kudos to Manny, the gentlemen at the front desk!
The breakfast is average for an included in price breakfast.
It gets the job done.
Oh, the location itself is just OK, but it is very close to the Park Slope section which is very nice.

We stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels all over the US. This staff was particularly professional and helpful not only for check in, but for information on getting around town and to our destinations. Precious was our helper and we really appreciate all she did to make our stay a great experience. The rooms and beds are much smaller than in other locations, but who cares? We are near New York!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Kaleigh13 good service uncomfortable situation
The staff was amazing and we are very grateful for that, but they gave us a room that was already occupied and it was an uncomfortable situation to be in. Also, the military rate made it more expensive to stay there which was just abnormal.

Booked a non-smoking room and upon checking in we were told there were only smoking rooms. After complaining, they told us that only the hallways smelled like cigarettes, but not the rooms. The room smelled of something else. I could not sleep, my throat started to ache and my son developed a running nose do to chemical allergies. We were offered a better room for the next day. We instead decided to leave and change hotel. Room Tv was old and discolored. The breakfast service was poor, with cramped space and minimum food choices. The facilities were outdated, and in need of refurbishment. We only came here because we got a rate from Pratt Institute. It was terribly located, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
