Booked a non-smoking room and upon checking in we were told there were only smoking rooms. After complaining, they told us that only the hallways smelled like cigarettes, but not the rooms. The room smelled of something else. I could not sleep, my throat started to ache and my son developed a running nose do to chemical allergies. We were offered a better room for the next day. We instead decided to leave and change hotel. Room Tv was old and discolored. The breakfast service was poor, with cramped space and minimum food choices. The facilities were outdated, and in need of refurbishment. We only came here because we got a rate from Pratt Institute. It was terribly located, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Not up to par for holiday inn express. Room worn out , desk chair fabric ripped and torn. Service was fine but I would not stay at this property again.

When I arrived my door would not lock. It took someone 30 + minutes to come and fix my door. I had left my luggage at the front desk and they told me they would bring it up. They tried to take it to a different room so it was at least an hour before I had my luggage. The staff appeared very disorganized but very nice.
On top of this, the room was very small!

Been a Priority Club member for 25 years and have stayed at lots of Holiday Inns & Express. Reserved a King Whirlpool room which was nice and on the 5th floor. TV didn't work so were moved to the first floor which is actually a basement; musty odors and lots of street noise. That room was a double bed & no whirlpool. Also, no desk or chair, no wifi signal & TV was locked by parental control with no instructions on how to unlock. At checkout (Sunday# I requested a rate reduction & was told to call the manager Monday. Did that for two days and only got voicemail. On the 3rd day we connected. Manager was sympathetic and understanding and offered a $100 credit which I accepted. Good save on his part because without such a concession I wouldn't have returned. Front staff is very good, Breakfast is decent but crowded. Only about twenty parking slots # $24 ) but we found nearby street parking

I recieve an excellent service in the front desk. They atended all my doubts with care, patient, respect and efficiency.
Room was very clean y comfortable to rest.
Definitely, i would like to reserve in this hotel again.

The size of the room is extremely small; It is suitable for small people or a single person. The noise filtration or lack of it is a deal breaker. We could hear all the happenings in the hallway and it just so happens that some guests decided to start the noise at 230am. The variety of the breakfast choices were good. What made the stay worthwhile was the amazing staff. They were all so eager to assist and were right there when they were needed.

The first room was nasty and upon checking in we discovered a towel soaked with what smelled like urine on the bathroom floor. I requested a new room and this one didn't have the tribe soaked towel but was just as run down.

and much of what I expected at a hotel was in effect, but....
I was in room 612. The shower did NOT work (the plug that you pull out that changes the water from the tub to shower was in operable. And all day....highlighted mostly at late night/wee hours, some kind of water/plumbing system noise was a steady inconvenience. It was non-stop. THAT was not a good thing. I requested a 2nd day after I checked in....but I got a business call, had to leave and was too upset and pressed for time to complain. So I left about 4pm on my second day.

Always nice to be greeted by the wonderful staff but, this time, Stein made it really special for us! If I could sing, I would sing his praise. By the way, there's a rumor that Stein really can sing! Serious.
Always special to visit this hotel! It really doesn't feel much like work. Isn't that what it's supposed to be like? Home away from home!

We stayed at the holiday in express in Brooklyn between the 21st and 23rd of August and from the time we checked in the staff were helpful and very accommodating we arrived early and got an early check in which with most properties is hard to get at no extra charge, the rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean, they have a complimentary breakfast that is far much better than the one I have had at other hotels , we definatley enjoyed our stay and will be back

Disappointed in size of room, lack of closet necessitating the use of an armoire that was awkwardly situated. I realize the difficulty with property values in this particular area, but this room was almost ridiculous in its size. The room had two double beds and indicated it could sleep 4. There is no way 4 people could stay in that room comfortably. The one bed was situated right up against the air conditioning/heat source. If the air was on, that person froze and if the air was off the room was too hot. We had to barricade the air conditioner with pillows around it to force the air upward and away from the bed.

This is an establishment that understands and embraces quality customer hospitality as their mission. Cheerful and helpful staff great you at the front desk and continues throughout all of the staff. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Common areas are also clean, well maintained and attractive. On-site parking is a plus and the rate is reasonable. Location is close to Barclays and subway lines. Short walk to 5th Ave and most any dining experience one could want. No worries. You'll be happy you booked here.

I'm retired and needed a place to stay for two nights while my place was being painted. I was able to stay in an area of Brooklyn that I used to live in and had a chance to visit people and eat out in places that I otherwise would not visit. The area may be strange to some, but it was a plus to the area to use the old factories for hotels. It puts you close to the great eateries of Park Slope and you don't have to go into Manhattan if you don't want to. The price was ok in comparison to spending plan fare to get out of town. The room size was just right for a short stay and one person. I like the "newness" of the place. For me, the lack of close transportation was fine because Seniors need lots of walking.

Staff was very welcoming and engaging.
the room smelled of smoke and I was asked NOT to smoke in the room....that was bazaar; additionally the noise level of the other guest was beyond average in volume; lastly, parking was none existent.....street parking is okay if know the area.

I didn't expect much when I arrived being that the hotel is located on a block full of warehouses. That all changed as I walked through the front door. I was greeted by a nice man right away and was offered a bottle of water. The reason I mention a bottle of water is because it was in the 90's and very muggy and it was the best water I ever tasted if you know what I mean. I arrived earlier than the standard check in time but was not told that I had to wait for a room. Quite the opposite. The kind man got on a radio and checked to see if a room was ready which one was. I took a spin on the Prizewheel they had at the reception. I won 2000 IHG rewards points. I had many questions for the staff and they answered all of them with a smile. The hotel is just a few blocks from many choices of restaurants and subway lines. I would reccommend this property to anyone visiting the NYC area. Great staff made me feel at home!

I visited NYC three weeks ago and although I have nearly always had great experiences with Holiday Inn Express, this hotel was exceptional. Staff was very knowledgable about the area. Two staff members, Alex and Marilyn, were especially helpful, although the entire staff was great. Marilyn helped me when I was having some difficulty with a new digital camera and Alex assisted me with parking and becoming familiar with the neighborhood. Excellent hotel!

I had a wonderful experience here. The neighborhood wasn't my favorite, but the staff and hotel comfort made the experience simply perfect for my needs during my business/ interview trip. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area!!

Every staff member my husband, son and I encountered was so friendly and accommodating. On 7/16/13, we arrived at 12:30 and was greeted by the manager and front desk lady. Although check in was at 3, there was no issue with us checking in early. The lady checking us in was very quick and efficient, and as stated earlier extremely friendly and accommodating. The manager even assisted my husband with our over sized cooler and then gave us some restaurant tips, getting around advice, etc.
I will definitely stay here again next year - clean, comfortable rooms; friendly, accommodating staff; close walking distance to subway; better economical value than hotels in Manhattan; $26 parking.

I had booked a non smoking room but was checked into a smoking room. The next room they moved me to had no privacy curtain, just drapes. I was told someone would bring me a curtain, never happened or heard from hotel staff about it. So I paper clipped the drapes together. The phone in my room rang 6 times @ 2 am, person on other end did not speak. I called the front desk to be told I had not gotten any outside calls, it was coming from another room. Creepy. Wide awake I realize how hot my room is because the drapes are blocking the a/c....At breakfast, I ask for skim milk and am told "use half and half" not a huge deal, but just the icing on the cake after a bad night. I was promised extra priority club points for my experience, didn't get them and having a hard time getting anyone from the hotel to call me back. Maybe after this review someone will...

I have been to many other Holiday Inn Expresses and they were by far the nicest staff members I ever had to deal with. They were also very professional. We enjoyed our stay in Holiday Inn. The staff was most helpful when we asked for directions to go to some eating places. However, we find the location a bit out of the city. Transportation is not as good.
Maybe the hotel can look into providing some kind of shuttle service to town and thus facilitate the mobility of the guests.
We would like to thank the staff for good and attentive service while we were there.

Although the neighborhood is a rather industrial type neighborhood, the hotel is clean with friendly staff. Could have used two queens instead of two double beds but they served the purpose and were comfortable. Air conditioning was tough to regulate for a single night stay. Three block walk from a decent street of local type shops and restaurants. No on-site workout facilities was not an issue. Love the breakfast.
