If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel in Brooklyn this Holiday Inn Express fits the bill. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, clean room with breakfast included. I would suggest checking out all pricing options as it turned out the AAA rate was much cheaper than the Senior rate.

Nice folks among the staff. Helpful and upbeat. Willing to help with directions and food recommendations in the area.
Goofy television remote and slow elevator. However, overall comfortable stay and reason price for Park Slope area of Brooklyn.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brackish Excellent for a Short Stay
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express needing a great deal of rest, coming off of an extremely busy period. I was not disappointed, as the room provided an extremely comfortable bed along with a very nice bathroom for an entirely reasonable fee. The staff was helpful, the breakfast was welcome, and the proximity to Dinosaur BBQ was an unexpected boon.
My two qualms are relatively minor. The single elevator was essentially useless, taking forever to arrive and moving incredibly slowly. And as has been the case with every hotel I've ever stayed in, the bizarre proprietary cable television service is awful (though I was relatively pleased with the quality of my movie rental).

While we enjoyed our stay, the major problems we incurred
were a lack of response to specific instances, we asked several
times for a hair dryer which was not in the room, no satisfaction
also twice we complained about the card taking 10 to 15 swipes to
open the door had this problem for the entire stay
have a nice day

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bamanan Our hotel of choice when we visit family in Brooklyn.
Normally we have a great experience during our stays here. The staff here is wonderful and always extend a warm welcome when you check in. Although we usually make our reservatione well in advance, this time we gave short notice because we were trying to time our stay in order to maximize the time we could spend with our daughter and her family who are expecting a baby any day now. Our room was comfortable but the door did not feel secure because there was a huge gap around it because the door was warped. Two of the nights we stayed we had trouble with both of our key cards and had to make several trips down from the 9th floor to the front desk before we were able to get our key cards to open the door. Hopefully, this problem will be fixed before our next visit.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AlinJax It was a good value.
Came to a wedding in Brooklyn and found it to be just what we needed. Great access to metro, cabs arrive on time, within walking distance to some good restaurants. Breakfast was superior to the Hampton Inn. One computer in the guest office, and they had paper for printing our airline tickets. Beds were comfortable, but the rooms were a bit smaller than we were used to. Free WIFI was available and had good quality transfer rate. We,were able,to,store bags for,a while after check out. The one shortfall was e small slow elevator for the 9 floors. They have a sign apologizing for the slow service, but don't be in a hurry.

Looking forward to staying here again.

Definitely family oriented, as I stay there with my daughter almost every other week. Breakfast hits the spot, and the staff, Mallory, Shauna, Terrence, and one more woman cannot remember her name but they are fabulous. Perfect stay for any reason! Enjoy!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by thorsif Overcharged
This is a nice hotel in a good location with Dino BBQ and the subway station steps away, the only problem was I used my points to book a room which should have been free less $50 incidental charge but I was also charged an additional $125 for no reason at all, what burns me up is at checkout I was told it was no big deal that it would show back on my account but its a huge deal my money is tired up for a good solid 3 to 4 days for nothing. They need to know you can't just use people's accounts to balance the books during the night audit or for whatever reason you don't have authority to do that. Now as a Platinum member I deserve a free night for this indiscretion but all I will receive is a weak apology. Stay here but watch your account make sure that you are not being overcharged!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AngiePA Wonderful, friendly service.
My family and friends were all in Brooklyn for a wedding and the HIE was our headquarters for 3 days. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, the service received was wonderful The front desk staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They were quick to offer helpful suggestions about local eating establishments and how to maneuver NYC subways. Shauna, the breakfast attendant, was amazing. She continually made sure that ample food was available, all with a wonderful smile on her face.
I definitely would recommend this hotel for its convenient location and friendly service.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Humbug Very Disappointing
I am very disappointed in this hotel. They have one elevator for guests and employees and the hotel has 9 floors. Needless to say, after waiting for over 5 minutes to get a down ride in the elevator, we took the stairs. This was a regular occurrence - the elevator never coming to the floor. Count on using the stairs if you stay here.
The king bed bedroom was as small a room as I have ever seen. It was not IHG worthy of the high rates.
Bathroom - incredibly small with barely enough room for one person.
Water pressure - so low that the shower barely came on and the flow was just above a trickle. Water pressure for the toilet was equally horrible.
Breakfast area - so small and with so many guests, we were only able to use it once in our 4 night stay and had to go our for breakfast.
Our air conditioner went out on the last night so we had to move at 2:30 AM or we had to remain in a sweltering room. But they did credit my bill $25.00 for that inconvenience.
All in all, the staff was great but the building is not designed well at all.
We'll be looking for other locations to stay next time and it probably won't be IHG.

I was greeted by a friendly staff member at the desk, who answered all of my questions. My room was nice and clean. The hotel is accessible to public transportation, cabs, restaurants, and stores. It was easy to get around the city. Breakfast was great and the worker on Sunday, September 1st was very attentive and went the extra mile to make sure everyone at breakfast was pleased and have what they needed. I would definitely visit this spot again. Plus the price was very reasonable for staying at NYC hotel. Oh, the room has a refrigerator and microwave...a huge plus for me. And they had some nice things (mouth wash, lotion, q-tips, shower cap, etc.) in the bathroom.

Really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. Conveniently located to to several good restaurants within walking distance. Subway access right on the corner. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Terrance at the front desk could not have been more accommodating. Good clean safe hotel. The free hot breakfast is a plus. My daughter is attending college in Brooklyn now and this will be where I stay when visiting.

A team with welcoming smile, very friendly and has the listening of all our requests. Usually i book my hotel in Manhatan , this is was the first time I reserve in Brooklyn. I would recommend this hotel to all travelers in search of a good quality / price ratio. Easy access by metro, excellent restaurant nearby. For the tourists who want a different view of New York than Manhattan..

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by psulions Service less than desirable
It was discovered on the following morning after having slept in one of the beds that fecal material had been in the sheets of that bed. The person sleeping in that bed noticed it when they came back from the bathroom and the sheets were pulled back. I informed the front desk and housekeeping changed the sheets. I was told that the hotel was going to deduct a significant portion of the room charge as a result of this incident and nothing was deducted. It was disgusting that a hotel could have fecal material in the sheets, especially when a new guest was going to be checking into that room. I have a very poor opinion about the Holiday Inn hotel chain now and will no longer stay at your properties and will discourage others to not stay there either. I am a frequent business traveler who is on the road weekly and I have never had such a poor expereince at any hotel property in all the years of my travels. I will be discussing this issue with our corporate travel agent and recommend that our employess no longer use Holiday Inn properties. One thing is to have disgusting fecal material in a bed and then not provide any customer service as a courtesy is absolutely pathetic! I will also share this experience with friends who are also frequent business travelers. I am appalled by this type of service from a hotel chain and no compensation in return.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by walker64 Don't sleep near the ice machine
The room we were given was not what we had reserved. When I asked to change rooms, I encountered a lot of resistance. Eventually, the man at the desk said he had thought he was doing me a favor b/c the rooms were not all clean (this was after 5pm for a 3pm check in time on the reservation) ands he didn't want me to have to sit around the lobby and wait.
The room we were eventually given was as we had reserved, but was next to the ice machine, which they did turn off four out of the five night's we were there. The night that it was on, we were awakened multiple times and when they turned it off, people could not believe it, so tried to make it work anyway. (why not just post a sign?)
Other than that, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Most of the staff was friendly and accommodating ( including the man at the desk) although we did encounter some who were almost hostile.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by whodidit15 not the room i booked online
Ive stayed at this location several times, as well as many others and i always enjoy my stay. Its convinnient for my significant other and i, whenever we want to get away from our crazy roomates for a night. My only issue with this particular stay is that i wasnt able to stay in the room i booked online. Upon arrival at the location i was informed that the room i had booked was unavailabe. In fact i was told that it was booked well in advance of me. Because of this we were placed in a double occupancy room, and had to share a full sized bed as opposed to a king size like the one we have at home. This was also major inconvinence to us because we really wanted to soak in the jacuzzi after running around the city all day. Please take the steps necessary to prevent this from happening again, to myself or others.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PaulB25 Holiday Inn Express: 625 Union Street BK
I have been staying at the HIE 625 Union St. for about 3 months for business. The hotel staff is by far one of the best features of this location! They will go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and have a pleasant stay. The staff alone will make you want to keep coming back!
The location is absolutely amazing! There is something for anybody to do in Park Slope, whether it be running/ biking at Prospect Park, rock climbing at Brooklyn Boulder Co (two blocks away!), or visiting the many restaurants and pubs on 4th/ 5th ave. If you are a bar-b-que fan, go no further. There are 4 top notch BBQ joints just walking distance from the hotel. A newly opened Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is directly across the street from the hotel.
As far as the facility, very similar to most Holiday Inn Express hotels with the same amenities. For anyone not from the area, just be ready to deal with smaller footprint rooms, and this is common for any hotel in the Metro area. The one drawback of this hotel is that there is only one elevator, and the wait can be a bit brutal.
That being said, the hotel staff is great, the location is great. I will remain a loyal customer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GoMarlins12 Better than expected.
Best thing is location and friendly/helpful staff. They helped with all kinds of questions and gave free bottled water all the time. It was extremely hot. Located one half block from subway station, you can go everywhere for little money; I even got back to the airport for $7.50!! Plenty of places nearby to eat. The included breakfast is very, very good. Had to ask for a different room b/c bathroom was smelly, but was moved right away to a clean one. Noise is the biggest problem. Some nights were noisy with young adults partying and coming in and out of the rooms, slamming doors; one night a dog started barking at 5 am, but if you call, the staff takes care of it right away.
