Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Summerof2012 Our Summer at The HIE
Due to an unfortunate circumstance, we were forced to move out of our apartment for an extended period of time this summer. The Holiday Inn Express was the closest hotel to our neighborhood, so we decided to book an extended stay. We spent most of the summer staying at the hotel. The overall experience was incredible. We are forever grateful to the hotel and the hotel staff for making our stay so comfortable and pleasurable. We will always remember the summer we spent at The HIE!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by memmv Very nice but...
The hotel was very clean and convenient to the Park Slope area. Staff was very helpful. Big concern though-when asked to call a cab for my daughter and son-in-law at midnight, an indie cab showed up and they were way over-charged. Call your own taxi!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cs78 Clean room
Nice room, small (like all NYC rooms), but comfortable and clean. Staff was helpful and polite. Continental breakfast had a pancake machine, one push of a button and you had hot pancakes. There are some good restaurants within walking distance, ate at one named Palo Santo, very good. Checkout was quick and simple. Would recommend staying here.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ipig2008 The worst hotel
I was arranged in a room next to an ice machine and so noisy that I could not sleep well. The front desk was not help me to solve this issue at all. Overall, it was my worst stay ever. If there are other choices, I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ParentsVisitingDaughter Visit to Brooklyn for Easy Access to Manhattan and Brooklyn
We chose this hotel to be close to our daughter in Brooklyn. We wanted to be able to travel to see her neighborhood plus travel to Manhattan to see sights and a show at the People's Improvisational Theater (The PIT). We took a cab to the hotel. The front desk called cars for us to get around, very nice to work with them. Very friendly and helpful. room was clean and comfortable, size about what you expect for NYC. The hotel is just a block from a subway stop; the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is a quick car ride away. Had brunch at Flatbush Farm and late lunch at 200 Fifth, just short walks away. Front desk watched our bags after we checked out, no problem. The breakfast food was typical for Holiday Inn Express, not fancy but most people would be able to find something to eat. I would stay here again. We did not worry about the parking lot since we taxied.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lindarama Good Place to Stay
I have rental property in Brooklyn so when I come to town to check on it I stay at HIE. I like this one but not the one on Butler Place. I prefer the Union Street location because it just feels better and the noise level is better. The only thing I can think of for improvement is the elevator service.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jazzedjim68 Decent for price
Overall, we had a nice experience at the hotel. Two adults and a child sharing a room with luggage made for a tight stay - meaning a little tough to relax in the room. The breakfast is what I expect from all HI Express locations. However, the juice machine was broke during the entire stay, and little was done to alleviate that issue...also their staff handling the breakfast area was a little lax in their care (slow to fill empty items and clear trash).
It's location ( in the park slope district, and a very close subway station) did make it ideal for work and leisure.
Staff working the front desk was GREAT!

Don't let the area fool you this hotel is very clean and up to date the staff are extremely nice. My room wasn't ready so I gave the woman at the front desk my number and went to grab a bite to eat I called about 45 mins later and I didn't have to tell her my name she knew who I was and told me my room was ready. And the . gentleman attending to the breakfast area was very nice and made sure he did e everything to make sure I had a great experience I recommend this hotel to everybody
