We have stayed at this location frequently since April of this year and have always been pleased with the service and hospitality. The owner Sanje and his staff have answered any questions that we have had and taken care of our needs. In addition, they have provided information about the surrounding area (restaurants, etc.) Sanje has taken the time to show an interest in our travels and activities. We already have future reservations and would definitely recommend this location to others.

This hotel really changed my opinion of the Holiday Inn Express brand. After looking at several hotels further away from my destination I decided to stay here because they have a few smoking rooms. Having said that, the room next door, which we reserved as well didn't smell of smoke so you non-smokers can still stay here and not be bothered with the worry of the smell. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room clean and large enough to move around in. The bathroom was bright and very clean - not even any dust in the corners. The shower gel/shampoo and conditioner were from Bath and Body Works and the perfect light refreshing scent. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked refreshing and well kept. The choices for breakfast were many. You can't beat fresh pancakes and the warm cinnamon rolls were the best!

lack of enough help. desk staff running around hotel doing everything else. Desk staff incompetent and promises but does not deliver. i called multiple times to cancel my second night and to ask for a receipt for my first night to be e-mailed to me. i spoke to Rob twice. Twice he promissed. but he never did anything.

This hotel is convenient to the interstate yet in a quiet location. It sits next to a bike path and there is a restaurant next door. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner and is in need of repair (above sink and towel rack).

I arrived very very late, and the lady at the front desk was wonderful! I over slept the breakfast, but the room and bed were very comfortable, One of the nicer places I have stayed during my travels.

This location not up to typical HI Expresses.
Night mgr was only one on duty so I had to come downstairs to get linens (which should have been in my room to begin with). He was very helpful and said he was sorry, but should not have that situation.
In morning, front desk guy was multi tasking taking care of breadfast area, front desk, as well as taking smoke break in front of hotel at main entrance (smoking area should be away from main entrance). I also hoped he washed his hands after smoking and then putting out new food on buffet.

We stay at a lot of HIE (Platinum) and often book at the last minute depending on how far we have driven, so showed up without reservation. Desk staff was friendly and courteous, offered room upgrade and discount, directions to grocery store. Room was clean with plenty of towels and supplies. More cable channels than I'd seen at other HIEs. It is a new hotel, which was also nice. Clean throughout: hallways, elevator, pool. Surprised to hear other reviews so negative: not sure how to account for that. Did not stay for breakfast so cannot comment on food.

We had an excellent experience at Dayton West. We were traveling with no firm plans for when and where to stop. Using the IHG app on my phone we were able to make reservations once we knew where we'd end up. The staff was welcoming, the beds comfy and breakfast was great.

Never before have I had a bad stay at a Holiday Inn Express, and never again will I stay at this one. Upon arrival, noone was at the desk so had to wait to check in. The room smelled musty ....later we found the window was open - on the first floor....so never mind the safety issue, guess we know now the open window was an attempt to air out the room. Trying to relax was impossible as the bed was awful. New bedding does not replace a comfortable bed. The chair in the room was frayed and dirty ....so no relaxing there. Horrible horrible stay. Next time we travel we will look to another hotel. Definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was the worst H.I. Express we have ever stayed at. A/C was not operative, two (2) bulbs burned-out and needing replacement, room was "musty" smelling, tables were not cleaned at breakfast, and pool was "ice cold" not heated. Very disappointed! Will not return!

HIExpress is always our first choice when we find an affordable rate. To be honest, the cinnamon rolls rank high on our list for choosing it...and they were up to par at this hotel, :) However, we were never able to get comfortable from the moment we opened the door to our very musty smelling room. No matter how we set the fan/heater/air conditioner, the room was very damp. Therefore our bedding was damp, our clothing was damp. This may have been in part due to the lack of any exhaust system in the bathroom. Our final morning, we headed for home to take our showers and get DRY, rather than attend the final session of the conference for which we were in Brookville.
A minor inconvenience upon arrival was that the rate at the desk computer, was higher than the rate we signed up for online. Fortunately we had a printout of the lower quote and it was honored...with a bit a hassle, since the new employee was a bit unfamiliar with that particular situation. Later that night, it was a disgusting to arrive back at the hotel to find the desk clerk right outside the front door having a cigarette.
We won't abandon Holiday Inn Express based on this experience...as long as the rate is good, and the cinnamon rolls are on the menu.!!!!

Room apparently had not been used in some time. Ceiling above air conditioner unit was stained and peeling from water leakage. Towels had not been cleaned of stains and generally looked dirty. Breakfast items had run out by 7:30 a.m. and milk was presented in an open pitcher. Butter and margarine were not refrigerated.

Wife and I checked in about 1800 hrs, July 1, 2013. We had driven from Kansas, going to Maryland. Having stayed here before we knew it would be great. "Jay" was on duty and greeted us. He immediately noted my platinum status. Talk about being treated as a visiting VIP. There is no doubt it was the best treatment from our four stops this trip and possible the best in my seven year as a Priority Club Member. A special thanks to "Jay", and the Holiday Inn Staff at Brookville, Ohio.

While traveling from SC to Michigan my wife and I stayed here as just a place to sleep. We had stayed the previous 5 days in a different holiday inn express and it was amazing. Not so much for here. It started off by me standing at the front desk of the hotel waiting to check in at 8 pm and no one is around. I waited for over 5 min to find the worker to check in. Didn’t speak English well and couldn’t help us with finding a place to eat in the area. He knew of a few places but no directions or a map or anything of how to get there. So we get out keys drive around to the side of the building and I notice that all of the hallway windows were open which it was 80 plus degrees outside that night. Nice so no ac in the hallways ok we get to the room which I had booked 2 nights before so they knew I was coming and the ac in the room was not even on. It’s real hot in the room and all I wanted was to relax in ac after driving 11 hours that day. So i turn it on and thankfully it did work. Room was ok but the shower head was not clean and very little pressure and the fact that it was hot upon arrival. So my wife and I leave to go to dinner and since we got no help from the front desk on choices we were on our own. Come back and I wanted an extra pillow so I stop at the front desk and again he is gone and me asking for an extra pillow was way too much work for him to do. I did receive my pillow but with hostility. Breakfast time its 8 am and getting hot outside we go to enjoy breakfast but wait its 81 in the lobby/dining area said so on the thermostat on the wall in the lobby, they had both front doors open which leads me to my next point, the place looks like garbage from outside weeds in all the landscape beds, bugs in the light covers of the hallways you know probably from leaving the doors and windows open instead of turning the air on, very bad curb appeal and they must not believe in ac. Also all the areas of the halls were dirty, dirty around ice machines/vending machines cobwebs dust bunnies. Overall not clean and very uninviting. The point that makes me most mad is the fact that I spent 25 more a night than a great location in North Charleston a tourist town. This location is near northing. Very unhappy with my stay here.

I am thankful that we only stayed one night at this Holiday Inn. We noticed upon pulling up the lack of care to the outside of the building with weeds growing through the rock beds, things just didn’t look kept up. We also noticed right away that the windows in the hallways were open, which seemed odd since it had been near 90 degrees the day we were there. Things didn’t improve much once we were inside. The lobby was hot (no AC on), and not exactly clean (dirty floors, bugs in the lights). I believe it would be fair to say that there was a lack of care for the facility overall. I was very nervous checking in and heading up to our room. The hallways were again not air conditioned (the windows were open), and when we opened our room, the ac was not on in there either. The room, overall, was clean, but much of the room appeared to be old/outdates (carpet, drapes, headboard, desk, chair). The bathroom was clean; however the shower head needed some work as the water pressure was very poor. The next morning we went to the lobby for breakfast, which I would compare to other Holiday Inn Express hot breakfasts that I’ve had before, so nothing too exciting or fabulous. However, sweating while eating, I would not compare to any other hotel experience I’ve had. The AC was still off in the lobby and the forecast for the day still being near 90 degrees and humid, both sets of automatic doors to the outside were propped open to let in hot muggy air causing the lobby to be uncomfortably warm. For the price of this hotel I expected much more than what we got. I was extremely disappointed in the care of the facility and our overall experience at this Holiday Inn Express, (especially for the amount of money we spent on our night there). I would not stay, or recommend others to stay at this hotel.

I always stay at HI and have been a Platinum member for a number of years. I have stayed at this unit several times and have alway felt welcome and comfortable. Something happened -- different people/management? -- and I don't know whether I'll go back.
The desk clerk visited on the phone and left me wait for no reason other than his interest in his phone call. i asked for the best rate and it took him over 5 minutes of searching the computer to come up with the best rate -- i then asked if AARP was considered and several minutes later he said that was better. this has never taken more that a few seconds anywhere else. After being at the desk longer than i have ever been (totally without any interuption except the initial phone call i came in on) I finally got my room - it was ok. The next morning I went for breakfast. The "server" or whatever you call him was leaning on the door watching TV. I cleaned a table for myself and selected a biscuit from the 5 that were there. It was cold and stale. I took another and it crumbled into a hundred pieces. I took the last spoon a gravy and sat down. The crumbly biscuit was ice cold on the inside -- obviously a reheat from some time previous. Neither biscuit was fit to eat. I dumped it and ate at McDonalds. i have NEVER disliked a Holiday Inn as much.

The best around the Dayton area, We have visited before, and we will return next year. We love the staff attitude, and the cleanliness of the Inn. We would recommend this Inn to anyone traveling through the Dayton area

Only seen one person (same person) at front desk for check in & out and wasn't overly friendly! Wasn't greeted as a priority club platinum member! Location poor, reality nothing around as in (entertainment/restaurant)! I do not believe this Holiday Inn Express worth 15,000 rewards points!

I only recently started traveling on business and the Holiday Inn in Brookville was a pleasant surprise. It was comfortable and clean with a very helpful staff. I'm sure the next time I'm on Interstate 70 again I'll drive a few extra miles to stay with them.

Only issue here is that attendant had a difficult time in getting me the correct room key / card. Tried twice and yet only one of the two cards worked. I only needed one. But more serious than that is the next morning I see my door unlocked. I did have the inside clasp or lock engaged, yet it is startling when you get up and see your door ajar. No explanation...
