We stayed 2 nights. The rooms were pricier than most other hotels in the area. The room was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Location was good. Near most major highways into and out of the Brownwood. Across the street from Wal-Mart and 2 doors down from a great barbecue restaurant. Breakfast was good but no fresh fruit. Good experience overall and would definitely stay there, again.

I went during a sold out time...couldn't get the IHGRewards team to get me a room here 2 weeks in advance for a Platinum member...(due to hidden restrictions that only IHG Case Mgrs have access to) luckilty an earlier IHG Case Mgr tried anyway and then told me the hotel would call me when an opening occured...that never happened even after the opening became avail. Luckily that morning I planned to arrive I noticed the 1 opening myself and snatched it up for a high price. Glad I did. Underwoods cafeteria calmed me while the sweet holiday inn express staff talked to me and the kids. They greeted me with good morning and asked me what i needed. it worked out nicely but last last minute. oh an platinum got me a nice soda! YES!

Not only was this property clean and well kept, the entire staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate guests. It was clear that these folks functioned as a team, and everyone felt the responsibility to make sure guests were comfortable. Very rare these days, thank you.

I have stay here numerous times, but this is the worst experience at a Holiday Inn I have ever had. The food for breakfast was awful and the coffee was never fresh. The shower curtain was falling off the wall and the towels were so old you couldn't dry off.

I always stay here when work sends me to Brownwood. I've been coming here the past few years and we have always been welcomed by the staff and made to feel at home. My rooms I have stayed in have always been exceptional w/ no issues. I rarely eat the breakfast in the Hotels I stay in except Brownwood. I've never had any issues with the selection and I'm pretty picky w/ my coffee as well. I can drink their coffee and enjoy it. From my experiences here, the employees have always been attentative and have a genuine caring attitude to us whether in uniform or plain clothes. Normally we don't get that warm friendly feeling in uniform when we check in but Brownwood has always welcomed us.

This is a great property in the middle of nowwhere. I have stayed here many times in the past 7 years. This past visit Aug 30th for 2 nights was very nice, except for the pool. On this visit I thought the pool was a toxic dumb. It had not been cleaned in Lord knows how long, green scum on the top of the water and garbage and filth in the bottom of the pool, I have NEVER stayed at a property with a pool in this condition. Other than the pool it was a nice stay. My next stay will be in late NOV so no need for a pool but next summer I will not check-in before I take a good long look at the pool.

I reserved 7 single rooms, 4 non smoking 3 smoking. When I checked in was informed that the hotel was all non smoking. I should have been notified of the change before check in.
Told them I was a priority club member, never received anything.
Informed that the rooms was tax free on check in, provided proper tax free forms. On check out was charged state and city taxes, had to return to hotel putting my work on hold to get the mistake corrected by the manager.

Hotel looked dirty and old. Carpet in my room was loose and bunched up in places so that you could actually trip over it.
Hotel just needs complete updating.

The clerks were unable to split the room charges between the two people in each room we had, then we were all overcharged. Some by 250 dollars. The manager did give me extra priority club points though. The staff were extremely nice but could not figure out how to split the rooms causing us about an hour delay before we could leave and they still were unable to figure it out. We had to leave with our credit card info written down on a sticky note for the manager.

We really enjoyed the comfortable beds as we had an extended stay and were exhausted at night. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We found the entire Inn clean from entry, to hallways, elevator, room, and eating area. The Cinnamon rolls are great along with the coffee!

The staff at this location have a lot to be proud of. I was so impressed by the amazing customer service when checking in. I was further amazed about the integrity of the staff when I phoned back to the hotel to find that someone found my phone charger. In addition, the staff found a way to mail it to me. Understandably, I had to assume the charge for my carelessness. However, the staff were extremely professional and reminded me of the good that exist in people!!! Honesty and integrity of staff in today's work arena is priceless and these staff deserve the highest praise!!! It was evident that they work as a team and that they care about the outcomes for the customer! Everyone we encountered was AWESOME!!!
Thank you beyond what I can express!!!

I've never been disappointed---and I've stayed here A LOT. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is polite and the breakfast is good. The location is perfect--right on the highway, yet there is no road noise.
It's where I prefer to stay when visiting Brownwood.

The hotel was fine, the front desk staff was super friendly, the only thing about this town is that your options for supper go down greatly after 9:00 PM. Eat before 9:00 and everything is fine.

I had a confirmed reservation for the end of the week. Due to sickness I needed to arrive 3 days early. I went to the hotel and was assured that there was a room for these 3 earlier days. I stressed I needed to keep the original reservation. We were notified on the day of our original reservation that we were to check out. They were booked solid and I was left out in the cold to scramble for a place to stay. This will be my last stay at Holiday Inn Express Brownwood.

Great Hotel, Great Room... the good news is that the Oil Boom is bring great business to the area. The results are that hotel prices are just as strong as they can be. It's really "what the market will bear" scenario..
Manager's Welcome reception, that helps offset some... :-)

We have stayed at this HI Express many many times (50 plus times) and have always been satisfied but the ownership and management have changed and it is horrible now. The last time we stayed it took them 1 hour to check us in. They have scraped the bottom of the barrel for their front desk staff. We will not be staying there any more as we have had nothing but bad experiences each time we have stayed there since management change.

I ended up being delayed from the airport due to the airline loosing my luggage. The staff at the front desk were amazing!!! They gave me complimentary toiletries and arranged for the front desk to call my room when my luggage arrived. This helped relieve a lot of stress as I had an interview the next morning.

This was one of the worst stays I had at a hotel. I could hear the guy in the next room on his phone talking to his wife and I could hear her part of the conversation. I could also hear people outside and in other rooms, I might as well have been in a bunkhouse. The breakfast was absolutely horrible. The biscuits were like rocks and couldn't even cut into them and the gravy was a watery mess. It would be better to not serve food than serve it poorly.

The service was great and the rooms were nice. The only drawback for us was the Handicap Accessible room, because all of the handicap rooms were only right sided grab bars.
Since my husband is partially right side paralyzed, he needs the left side grab bars. We could manage but it was hard on both of us to do so.
The lady at the front desk said she would mention this at their meeting since they were going to remodel the hotel.
So I hope they will add some left side grab bars for the people who have their right side affected from stroke, etc.
The food was great except I would have liked some eggs cooked instead of the omelet.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

I was very impressed with the staff, the room and the breakfast. Everything was very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing that was an issue was the WIFI it stopped working but they were on top of it fast.

We enjoy the stop in Brownwood while returning home. The Holiday Inn Express is well kept up and the staff is friendly and worksd hard to do their best for us. We always enjoy the stay.
