Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value overnight I was impressed by the hotel - clean, comfortable and everything as advertised. We were pretty tired after cycling 600km beforehand so this was important. If I could criticise slightly the only bitter on draught (Boddingtons) ran out and there were no bottled bitter/ale alternatives. June 20, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by An average stay. Reception staff, bar staff and evening meal staff were excellent but the breakfast staff were poor. Breakfast kept running out of plates cutlery and food. The staff were not on the ball to stock up and several requests were made for missing items. The serving area was not cleaned up after customers had spilt items. The rooms were up to standard but we had to ask for towels as there was not enough in the room. We stay in several Holiday Inn express hotels and this one did not meet their high standards at breakfast. June 17, 2016

I found that the range of TV channels was somewhat limited and the interactive service was not available so that I was unable to use the alarm facility or access Teletext. Minor quibbles I know but they would have made a difference. Nonetheless I very much liked this hotel and would most certainly use it again. June 16, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Don't get the room by the stairs My stay was overall great, and everything was as you'd expect. Only issue was one night the noise from other guests coming up the stairs and slamming doors was annoying. Although you can't necessarily blame the hotel for that if you compare another well known brand they have a lot of quite effective posters in corridors asking people to be quiet late in the evening which I think have an effect.
