We have been making frequent trips from Florida to Ohio and have been in search of a good stopover. The Calhoun Holiday Inn Express fits the bill to a T. The facility is clean and well kept. The pool and fitness center are great. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. For this picky eater and coffee snob, there could have been a better selection of fresh fruit and the coffee could have been hotter...otherwise, a perfect stay.

Upon arrival, desk clerk insisted this was our "free night" of the year, although I had a confirmation that it was paid for with points and cash. Also, room requested was for double beds, and we were given a room with one king. All this, and the hotel was not nearly full. The next morning another male clerk was almost verbally abusive about my complaint. Will never stay at this HIE again.

This is a typical HI Express. Good location, clean and comfortable, but the staff makes it better than most. They will go out of their way to make your stay great!

Great stop on our way home from Florida. Comfortable bed and nice clean room. Great service at the front desk. We have stayed at several Holiday Inn Express hotels. This one didn't serve pancakes at breakfast. The breakfast area was dirty and no hot water to make oatmeal. We asked one of the breakfast workers. She could not speak English and had to go get another worker to help us. We wish our experience at breakfast could have been better and topped off a great room:-(

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few summers and have always found the rooms clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

Everything was just right except: 1) it was very apparent the floor was not vacuumed (grass clippings, Pringles lid), causing me to wonder how often it actually is vacuumed and 2) the sheets smelled musty causing me to wonder if they had been changed since the last guest slept there. Not a good feeling in the middle of the night. Pool was small but serviceable even for laps. Everything else seemed clean. The check-in clerk was outstanding. The check-out clerk seemed confused what to do with my comments after she said “how was your stay?” and I told her the above. Skipped it on the return trip.

This hotel is getting dated. It doesn't have a "fresh smell and needs to be updated.
The elevator is slow, the front desk is so,so but the breakfast is typical "really good" HI Express type of breakfasts.
Stay here, if you are on your journey thru Georgia on I75 for the night, but not longer and use your points for a cheaper rate.

My family and I had been on a week's vacation and stayed in 3 different Holiday Inn Express. Our first two places were amazing. Then we arrived at Calhoun, when my husband went to check in he was informed that we had registered for 2 rooms instead of one. He tried to show the staff, named Rita, that our registration on his phone was for one room, but Rita refused to even look at the confirmation. After several minutes of my husband saying we did not book 2 rooms, a second employee finally intervened gave the second room to the family behind us that did not already have a room. So we thought this would be end of our troubles until we entered our room and saw that it was a king bed in a smoking room. We had reserved a standard non-smoking room. We are a family of 5 with three young children under the age of 6 so sleeping in one bed was not going to work. Plus I did not want my children subjected to a room that spelled horribly like smoke! My husband went down to fix the problem and the only solution that was offered to him was to give him a roll away bed for free-- a total compensation of ten dollars. Needless to say our night was not restful or relaxing as the smoke smell was very prominent. We woke when breakfast started so that we could leave the room and the smell. This experience was very unpleasant and was even more disappointing since my husband is a Priority Club member.

Had a problem with the TV remote. I could not get the programs on and called the desk for assistance. She tried to tell me how but the screen was saying satellite problems. The desk clerk said the direct cable person was there that day. I asked her if she could come and fixed it but she said that leaving the desk was not an option. I used the reset button and continued to get the channels to come up. No luck, same saying about satellite problems. She (desk clerk) returned the call and told us to move to another room for TV reception. We agreed. That TV came on and was running as usual. The desk called and I told her everything was ok. She let me know that they went and checked our first room on the TV and said she got the TV to come on without any problem. Sounded condescending and made me feel uncomfortable that I was not capable to correct the TV issue. I thought she couldn't leave the front desk.

we had a pull out sofa but no extra linens for it and when we asked forextra blanket, there were non. I understand they had a full house
and were probably short of everything. Thank goodness we had
couple of blankets that kids brought from home. However, we survived the night and overall it was comfortable stay.

We stayed for just one night but it was the most comfortable bed I have slept in at a hotel. Very clean and not too noisy. Would definitely stay again.

the children on the same floor were slamming doors and playing in the halls until well after 10:00 PM. For the price of the room I found that the bathroom was not in the best shape . I did call for the tv not working and someone came up quickly to attend to it. Other than that our stay here was not the best. I would never stay there again

And you were very accomodating to get us on the main floor as we requested. Thanks for doing that. The stay was great as usual. We usually stay there once a year when we're returning from a visit to Florida, and we always take in the Outlet Mall. Good planning.

I was not welcomed as a Platinum Member. It was average for a Holiday Inn Express. Staff was not especially friendly. Comfortable, clean.

We were travelling back to Tennessee and stayed one night at the HIE and we were pleased with the service and we were able to relax after a long drive north.
Would definitely stay again.

Not impressed overall. Obvious concerns with room (hairs that weren't ours, etc). Hallway outside of our door very messy. Didn't seem up to normal Holiday Inn standards. Only outdoor pool.

We stayed just one night while visiting family. Property is conveniently located just off the I-75 exit near a number of restaurants so that was great. The manager was friendly and courteous--he did not acknowledge our Priority Club membership, but that isn't a big deal to us. Our room was extremely clean, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint was that the walls (and floors) seemed poorly insulated. We heard at all hours the footsteps of people in the room above us--I think their floors may have been uncarpeted, or that's how it sounded. And at around 1 a.m. we were awakened by the voices of people coming back to their rooms and talking inside their room. As a result we woke up a number of times throughout the night and early morning. If we stay in this property again, which we likely will, we will request a 2nd floor room. We were happy with this property otherwise.

Requested a non-smoking room, was assigned to a room labeled as "non-smoking" but had a very heavy odor of smoke. Went back to front desk to request a "real" non-smoking room and the lady at the desk appeared annoyed that we wanted to change rooms. The second room was only slightly better.
Breakfast was good except for the small fruit fly type bugs that seemed to buzz around our table.

We didn't stay for breakfast but left to beat Atlanta Traffic. Awesome Holiday Inn. The room was clean, close to everything and a great value for our Priority Club Points. Would stay again if we return.

I did not find the staff very friendly. Was charged extra for a two beds rather then one. No extras for being a member of the Priority Club.
Totally unlike the previous Holiday Inn Express, which was great.
I will not stay at the Calhoun Holiday Inn Express again.

We had an excellent room with two very comfortable double beds. The new flat screen TV's are marvelous too. Our breakfast was exelllent with many choices. We definitely stay here again.
