Hotels were either booked or required a 2 night minimum in Ventura, so we looked into staying some place in Camarillo. Glad we did!
The place was sold out due to a soccer tournament but the staff still kept their cool and very efficient. Check-in was fast and friendly. Rooms were clean and surprisingly quiet!
The hot breakfast in the morning was pretty good! It was pretty busy in there, so we just grabbed what we needed and left. A lot of variety for everyone of all ages. Husband was happy about the vanilla creamers for the coffee.
Overall an excellent stay...will definitely book at another Holiday Inn Express!

During the 2 week vacation in US, I stayed 4-5 holiday inn express and this one is the worst.
First of all, the facility in the room is very old and apparently needs decoration.
However, this is the not the key issue I want to complain as I can understand some HIX might be built long long ago.
What do make me upset is that when I was check-in the lady at frontdesk is extremly extremly cold. I believe that this attitude is not only towards me and it must be her usual behaviors. She finished the whole check-in process like a robot, no smile, no greetings....
I can not blame her too much as she has done what she should do -- assign a room, credit card pre-charge, welcome points deposited.... However, if she could have smiled a little or have a nice chat with we four foreigner travellers which have had a long drive for whole day(as the later HIX front desk do), the stay experience will be much better.

This location is convenient and clean. The staff are friendly. Just wish they would have had some fresh strawberries offered at breakfast since this is directly across the street from miles and miles of strawberry fields. More healthy breakfast choices would be welcomed.

The hotel beds are harder than sleeping on a slab of concrete. The mattresses are all Extra Firm which is fine if you are 90 years old. I have never had such back and neck problems until I spent 4 nights of misery on these "beds" as they called them. It was a form a of torture. Save your money and time and go ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Room was clean and quiet. Staff was very helpful. Our daughter and family were arriving late so we requested if we could be on the same floor and they were nice enough to do so. Breakfast was fine. Only one problem and we forgot to inform the front desk. The tub didn't drain fast enough and we were in about an inch of water when we showered.

A very nice hotel, nice room, pool,bed, breakfast. Great staff
Two areas for improvement, some free weights in the exercise room, just has treadmills. Internet access code changes on Friday, is there an automated way to notify guests, maybe a text message to their cell phone or change it that code changes on Saturday early morning since most business travelers aren't staying over weekend

I absolutely love Holiday Inn. I'm a little torn as to how I feel about this place. Let's make it easy…
*Mix up with my reservation. It was $20 more than it was supposed to be. Probably my fault, but after 20 minutes, the clerk fixed it. I made reservation the IHG website and he said my club # wasn't on there. A bit of a hassle.
*The walls are paper thin. A youth baseball team and ALL their family members were staying there. I have 4 sons, so I know how it is.
*Breakfast was over run by the amount of people. The poor lady was having a hard time keeping up.
Pool/Jacuzzi was a playground.
*Place needs renovation
*Mattress not comfortable
*Towels were a little "scratchy"
A Balcony! It was great to step outside and enjoy the fresh air! (This is a HUGE plus!)

Really good staff and helpfull really would like a little beter cooked breakfast maybe a little more variety. Over all verry clean and relaxing after a long day at work. Also would like a little bit more variety in movie Channels and more spanish chanles.

My Wife and I loved our stay. We will be definatly coming back. The rooms do need some improvement but can't complain we felt right at home. Breakfast had great choices. Mayra from Front Desk saluted us with a warm smile and every time we walked by greated us with a Hello, and asked if we needed something. She is a perfect asset to the Holiday Inn Express.

Arrived for a week long stay on business. Greeted by teenagers arriving for their soccer tournament. Was politely advised by the mgr on duty that they have put all the players on one end of the property and other guests on the opposite end, NOT!
My IHG profile denotes top floor/quiet section of property-I was given second floor and sandwiched in between the floors of teenagers. Staff obliged my request to move two days later but the room I was assigned had me sleepless again due to water pipes in the walls clanking in the early morning.
I expressed my disappointment but the staff could only say 'We're sorry' and did not offer any remedies nor at least comping me a night or two.

Overall, solid place to stay multiple nights. Wish they had tea in the room, rather then just coffee. Would be nice to have access to the breakfast room for meetings after breakfast.

Was a little disappointed. The room carpet had ripples in it, and was tripping some, and the Bathroom......OMG.......sooooo small........to get to the sink, you had to close the close the door, in order to get to sink..........
Then the king bed was sloping, or angle..........was not level...........thinking its OLD !!!!!
The bar was great, the servers was working their butts offs..........all by them selfs.........running..........and NO help.....mmmmm both ladies did great.........
Last, I had to ask for an UPGRADE.......why.........almost ALL locations i use.....have an upgrade already for me.............:(:(

Super Staff, very helpful and eager to assist.
The girl I the breakfast room though is so eager to clean up, that she comes up to you and asks if she can clear the table. Maybe she can just wait until the guest leaves. More relaxed !
Also, I don't like scrambled eggs, my problem!
Maybe have those little cheese omelette as alternative

I came in for an interview and had a lot of books and luggage to bring to my room. I know this is a Holiday Inn, but on my way out in the morning in my business suit, I saw THREE staff just standing at the counter NOT BUSY chatting and staring while I lugged a cart out to my car by myself, and was having trouble. You would think one of the three would offer to help even though it's not "required" of them. Nope. Older average looking hotel, probably wouldn't stay here again.

Would have to say that besides the excellent condition of the hotel. The staff from the GM Chris all the way to the housekeeping staff made our stay very enjoyable. You can see that they enjoy their jobs.

stayed there a couple of nights. rooms don't have the most practical design I ever seen but they're acceptable. Bathroom door blocks mirror, water sink is chest high. Very reduced quarters. On the other hand the staff were very polite and nice. Everybody greeted me with a smile and a good morning. Mayra from front desk was super nice and helpful.

My husband and I had come down to California for business, we decided to stay at this hotel, the staff was absolutely wonderful! most helpfull people troughout our stay would have been esmey and myra very lovely girls and helpful!!! the breakfast was fantastic! you guys could add a couple of more items but cant complain. we had forgot our laptop at home and the business room was execellent! My husband and I extended our stay about 5 times and myra upgraded us to a suit which was absoloutly beautiful and very comfy. We can not wait to go back, we felt right at home with all the great housekeepers and front desk agents esmey and myra.

We stayed at 15 Holiday Inn Expresses the last 3 weeks, I think the older hotels 10-12 years old should not be called an express! My opinion! A breakfast change up, would be great! Staff, great job!

Room smelled funny, I think carpet needs cleaning. Everything else was acceptable.
All considered, it was disappointing. The hotel is far from what we know as Holiday Inn Express. And, we are Gold Elite and Platinum Members.

They acknowledged me as a Platinum Member which is nice and the room is very spacious. However, I didn't really enjoy my stay in this place.
We checked in and were given a room on the 3rd floor but then we were unable to connect any of our devices to their WIFI so my brother went downstairs and told the front desk. The lady told him that we can either move to a different room or use the business center. He went up to tell me about the options and I told him that I'd like to see the room. We went downstairs and the lady was gone so we talk to the guy named "Noe or Joe, either one" who was there at the front desk. We told him that the lady offered us a room change and we'd like to see the room before moving. That guy was extremely rude, didn't treat us with respect and I don't see any reason why he has to act like that. He wasn't suppose to treat hotel guests in that manner.
We did move to a different room and we can connect all our devices to the WIFI but I'm just not happy with the way I was treated. Luckily, I stayed there only for one night.

Property needs work. Most outdated HIE hotel I have stayed at in years. Breakfast was absolutley horrible. Limited selection with cold eggs, undercooked and greasy bacon, stale biscuits and no gravy.
