Convenient supermarket nearby, and quaint Cambridge neighborhood just behind hotel. Really appreciated front-desk staff recommendations. Room was clean and comfortable. You can park your car for free which will be difficult in Boston. I’ll definitely stay here if I will travel to Boston area again. August 27, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Deal While the exterior is bland, the accommodations are great. The rooms are clean, updated and well stocked. I liked the proximity to the metro and I liked the availability of the complimentary hot/cold breakfast. Breakfast offers a nice selection and even caters to the non beef/pork eater! The staff were friendly and helpful. Two recommendations are 1) have more exterior lighting and 2) have window shades that pull all the way down. August 21, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel for My Needs I selected this hotel primarily because it was a 5 minute walk to the subway / bus station and I wanted access to diffrent areas of Boston and watch a game at Fenway Park. That worked out real well. The hotel itself looks fairly new. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Lobby was small and had some A/C problems. Staff was excellent -- very helpful in all areas. Only down side (minor) was its location in that it was not really close to any restaurants except for a doughnut shop and a McDonalds. But with a short walk to the "T" finding a good place to eat was easy. Breakfast was a little crazy with more people than seats, but the food was very good. I am glad that I made this choice as it was just what I needed for my first time to visit Boston. August 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for visiting Boston and great staff. Stayed here for 2 nights on a short visit to Boston. We were traveling with a baby, so booked a crib for our room. At check-in, we were offered an upgrade to a one bedroom suite even though, I assume, they needed to move the crib from our booked room to the suite. It was great that they were willing to go to the extra effort for us! The staff were very nice, especially Mark and Janelle. They gave us plenty of recommendations and directions. The one major drawback of the hotel would be the lack of on-site parking. There is an overflow lot nearby but it is across a busy highway and looks like it belongs to a closed motel or auto mechanic. Since we took public transportation everywhere and left our car in the on-site lot, per Mark's recommendation, it wasn't a problem for us. Overall, we had a great trip. The highlight of our stay was the staff. August 10, 2014

Not really close to anything you would be in Boston for, except that it is a 1/3 mile hike to the Lechemere Station on the green line. Or you can try to figure out the bus network which is all around. Does give you a discounted access to Boston. Hotel is renovated recently and really looks great inside and out. Food selection was reasonable but the meal area can get a little crowded. Hotel tried to accommodate early check-in (a couple of hours early) but could not do so. Refrigerator and microwave is a big plus. Good location within walking distance to shopping centers, supermarkets, and T station with direct service to Boston. August 9, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, Terrible Parking This is a standard Holiday Inn Express with two fatal flaws, however. The parking situation is awful with a tiny on-premise lot and an "overflow" area in a weed-infested lot in front of an abandoned building across a busy 4-lane road. If one comes with a car, be prepared. The other negative is the lack of towel racks in the bathroom. It was a bit humorous to read the card encouraging the good environmental practice of reusing one's towels by "hanging them on the towel racks." On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. August 5, 2014

Only downside was the location on the road; we could hear cars starting in the early morning hours. Not so noisy that it would wake you from a dead sleep, but evident flow of cars. Free breakfast was a nice perk, however it was very crowded in the breakfast room. Pick your time wisely. August 3, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Time in Cambridge, Mass. Since this was my first time in Cambridge (business and leisure), my experience at the Holiday Inn Express was very good. The hotel staff was wonderful--very friendly and very helpful when it came to directions and/or suggestions. The General Manager, Mark was excellent in taking care of a small issue I had when I arrived. The only thing that I think could be improved in the future if possible, would be the parking. There are so many rooms but not enough parking spaces for the guests. If you arrive too late and there are no more spaces, then you have to park across the street (a very busy highway) in a very dark, empty parking lot. The neighborhood did not seem as safe as I may have wanted and I know the hotel has no control over this, however, being a woman, parking alone at night can be unsafe. Although the hotel did accommodate their guests by having the extra parking lot, maybe they could offer a valet service to find a parking space when needed. July 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All around great hotel and value I would recommend this hotel. It's walking distance to the science museum where the Boston Duck Boar tours depart, and to TD Garden. There is a gym, small shopping ctr, and several pizza places within walking distance. It's a great city neighborhood for jogging. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast has many choices. The only slight drawback is the parking lot is small, so if it's full, you have to park across the road. It wasn't an issue for us. All around a great value for a Holiday Inn Express. July 30, 2014

The room is comfortable, very clean, and especially very versatile, with a nice table that can serve as a desk or dinning table, a nice-sized fridge, a microwave, air conditioning... All we needed was there! Very comfortable beds (I like quite hard mattresses). The staff is sweet and helpful and checkin and checkout super fast. Breakfast was just right. Good quality items and quite a decent choice. We will definitely be back there next time we visit the area, hopefully soon! July 29, 2014
