Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for visiting Boston and great staff. Stayed here for 2 nights on a short visit to Boston. We were traveling with a baby, so booked a crib for our room. At check-in, we were offered an upgrade to a one bedroom suite even though, I assume, they needed to move the crib from our booked room to the suite. It was great that they were willing to go to the extra effort for us! The staff were very nice, especially Mark and Janelle. They gave us plenty of recommendations and directions. The one major drawback of the hotel would be the lack of on-site parking. There is an overflow lot nearby but it is across a busy highway and looks like it belongs to a closed motel or auto mechanic. Since we took public transportation everywhere and left our car in the on-site lot, per Mark's recommendation, it wasn't a problem for us. Overall, we had a great trip. Not really close to anything you would be in Boston for, except that it is a 1/3 mile hike to the Lechemere Station on the green line. Or you can try to figure out the bus network which is all around. Does give you a discounted access to Boston. Hotel is renovated recently and really looks great inside and out. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent room Room was great. Nice and quiet even though we were a couple of doors down from the elevator. Food selection was reasonable but the meal area can get a little crowded. Hotel tried to accommodate early check-in (a couple of hours early) but could not do so. Refrigerator and microwave is a big plus. Good location within walking distance to shopping centers, supermarkets, and T station with direct service to Boston. August 9, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, Terrible Parking This is a standard Holiday Inn Express with two fatal flaws, however. The parking situation is awful with a tiny on-premise lot and an "overflow" area in a weed-infested lot in front of an abandoned building across a busy 4-lane road. If one comes with a car, be prepared. The other negative is the lack of towel racks in the bathroom. It was a bit humorous to read the card encouraging the good environmental practice of reusing one's towels by "hanging them on the towel racks." On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. August 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasing Stay Clean and updated room with comfortable mattress. All aspects of the room were excellent. Only downside was the location on the road; we could hear cars starting in the early morning hours. Not so noisy that it would wake you from a dead sleep, but evident flow of cars. Free breakfast was a nice perk, however it was very crowded in the breakfast room. Pick your time wisely. August 3, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Time in Cambridge, Mass. Since this was my first time in Cambridge (business and leisure), my experience at the Holiday Inn Express was very good. The hotel staff was wonderful--very friendly and very helpful when it came to directions and/or suggestions. The General Manager, Mark was excellent in taking care of a small issue I had when I arrived. The only thing that I think could be improved in the future if possible, would be the parking. There are so many rooms but not enough parking spaces for the guests. If you arrive too late and there are no more spaces, then you have to park across the street (a very busy highway) in a very dark, empty parking lot. The neighborhood did not seem as safe as I may have wanted and I know the hotel has no control over this, however, being a woman, parking alone at night can be unsafe. Although the hotel did accommodate their guests by having the extra parking lot, maybe they could offer a valet service to find a parking space when needed. July 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All around great hotel and value I would recommend this hotel. It's walking distance to the science museum where the Boston Duck Boar tours depart, and to TD Garden. There is a gym, small shopping ctr, and several pizza places within walking distance. It's a great city neighborhood for jogging. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast has many choices. The only slight drawback is the parking lot is small, so if it's full, you have to park across the road. It wasn't an issue for us. All around a great value for a Holiday Inn Express. July 30, 2014

The room is comfortable, very clean, and especially very versatile, with a nice table that can serve as a desk or dinning table, a nice-sized fridge, a microwave, air conditioning... All we needed was there! Very comfortable beds (I like quite hard mattresses). The staff is sweet and helpful and checkin and checkout super fast. Breakfast was just right. Good quality items and quite a decent choice. We will definitely be back there next time we visit the area, hopefully soon! July 29, 2014

Recently refitted rooms and a good selection for breakfast make this an excellent value. Rooms are clean with modern furnishings, Flat panel TVs, free internet... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value and Great Breakfast While attending a wedding we decided to stay two extra days and we were pleased with the hotel. Rooms were clean and modern. Rooms provided microwave and minifridge which is always a plus when traveling. The hotel also provided a convenience store for snacks, pizza and drinks. Breakfast was a great bonus! I immediately felt at ease and knew I could trust the information I got when I asked for directions. I would not hesitate to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge Massachusetts again. They made our stay very pleasant. I asked the front desk person about restaurants and he gave me directions and even printed a map and highlighted the route. I never expected this in Massachusetts ! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff!! :) We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express Boston - Cambridge. From the time PHIL greeted us the first day and gave us some Boston tips, we knew we would enjoy our time there. The room was clean, quiet and a good size. It was very convenient to the "T" and all points in Boston. We spent one night, then went to spend a night in Gloucester, before returning for two additional nights. KAITLIN made sure we had the same room waiting for us at the end of the week and that it was available before the normal check-in time, so we could make the most of our remaining days in Boston. She greeted us with a smile morning and evening .. I think she is there all the time! We also met the manager (MARK?? .. sorry I forgot to write your name down), who helped us out with a map to find our way to Fenway Park on the "T." Great experience .. would absolutely stay there again!! :) We had a terrible experience at the HI Express-Galveston 2 wks prior, where I was told I should not expect service at a HI Express, this Boston-Cambridge hotel restores my faith in the brand. Jimmy took great care of us not only did he accommodate us immediately, but the level of customer service that we received was second to none. I am active-duty military and I have yet to receive the treatment I did at this location. Jimmy offered us an upgrade on the room so that we were able to settle in a bit early. The front desk staff are awesome, knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. Breakfast was very good and the variety was nice over a long stay. Cinnamon rolls were my favorite treat along with the nightly cookies. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and caused me pain. The housekeeping staff were friendly but the ones on my floor did not speak English at all which made it difficult to communicate our needs. The room was clean upon check-in but not up to par during our stay. We would definitely consider staying here on our next trip. July 14, 2014

We were a little surprised at the neighborhood but it was fine, since we were not planning to walk around it the next morning. If so, I would have preferred a Boston location. July 10, 2014
