Overall the hotel is good. Clean rooms, mostly friendly staff and nice breakfast.
However, both my husband and my daughter are light sleepers and I thought I was making a good decision requesting a room away from the elevators. Turns out we werre right across from the ice machine and two windows facing the road. The road noise was very loud. I even tried to muffle the noise by keeping the fan on all night, but that did not really work. We knew we would only be there a couple of nights out of an 11 day trip and they were really booked up so we did not request a room change.
Bottom line, if you are a light sleeper request a room away from all of that noise!

As we arrived at the Hotel, they couldn't
Accompdate us since it was early. They asked
If we wanted to store our luggage and they would
Take care of it until we got the room. We proceed to go to our meeting and we return late at night. They had the room ready for us to get right into bed. We found a letter for thanking us staying at this
Particular hotel and an apology for not being able to accommodate
us wit a room earlier.
Also since the hotel was full and there was no more parking, they allow us to park in front of the driveway without of course
blocking the way. The breakfast in the morning was excellent.
I will return to this location.

My son and I spent four nights at this hotel and it was outstanding. We were just three block from the subway station so we didn't need a car. The staff was pleasant and tremendously helpful.
My only complaints were mechanical in nature: It was a little difficult to control the room temperature from the wall unit and the toilet didn't seem to have enough water pressure to flush very well (we were on the sixth floor). Also, the dining area was rather small for the number of guests who all seemed to come for breakfast at the same time. It was hard to navigate through the crowd. The design could be improved.
But those were minor inconveniences as far as we were concerned and overall it suited our purposes. We were on vacation and the price of this place was a bargain. We will definitely book here again.

Modern, clean hotel in convenient Cambridge location. Friendly staff. Overflow parking lot across the street appears less safe than the lot behind the hotel. Breakfast buffet is convenient and basic although the automatic pancake machine rocks.

We stayed here with our daughter and our two grandchildren on a recent trip to Boston. The rooms were clean and comfortable and looked as if they had been recently renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a wide variety of breakfast foods. However, as with many hotels that offer free breakfast, the breakfast space was inadequate for the number of guests. Finding a place to sit down was difficult every morning.

Friendly people, good breakfast, fridge in room and wifi works, so they make their promises to be real!
Price higher than our normal rates, but great value and walkable distance to subway to go to downtown Boston.

The room was good with a large and confortable bed, free space and all the needed supports. Staff people provided a lot of information on Boston visit and the needs we have. Breakfast in line with Holiday Inn but with a nice and large breakfast room. It was in Cambridge at a few minutes from the train station, easy to go to the center of Boston.

Our stay was short, but good. The strong points are a helpful staff, a clean room, free breakfast and free parking. Walking distance to the T is good.
For those interested in a good place with good service, this is it. For those who love "amenities", maybe not. No pool, nothing fancy-- just good service and good value.

The rooms were new and clean which was very nice. The staff was very friendly. The location was close to the "T" which was great but otherwise a bit out of the way. The internet was horrible to the point I could hardly send emails and the signal would keep dropping. Being a business traveler, a reliable internet connection is a must.

The front desk staff - Janelle and Dana - were very helpful. Their restaurant suggestions were excellent. Great way to start the day with a newspaper and fantastic breakfast selection. The main parking lot was very congested but ample overflow parking was provided. A pool and weight room would be a great asset to this property. I would suggest this property to friends and family.

I would recommend this hotel but for the manager; he is totally unreliable. I made a reservation at the a promotional rate. When he gave me the bill it was for the regular rate. I told him that the bill should be for the promotional rate. He first said that I was billed at the promotional rate. After I insisted that it was not, he checked the reservation and then concocted a story to cover his behind. He said that I was offered the promotional rate but I chose a reservation upgrade, which was a total fabrication. Though the confirmation I had clearly indicates that my reservation was at the promotional rate the manager still denied it and made up a story to justify himself. I later on called the Holiday Inn Guest Relationship, they were infinitely nicer and much more reasonable. They verified my account of this event, and then reimbursed me for the overcharge and apologized.

Our trip to the Boston area was our big family vacation and first to the Boston area. We were more than surprised at the hospitality of all Bostonians including the staff at this Cambridge HIE. After driving up from NYC we were amazed and taken back by the hospitality of everyone we came across in Boston and cant wait to go back. The hotel was spacious, family friendly, clean, and close to things nearby including a grocery store, liquor store and subway line. The location made getting around to all the touristy areas easy and less expensive than staying in downtown. The added bonus was free parking and the breakfast you get at HIE.
Dana at the front desk was more than helpful, she went out of her way to be a great host and helpful for our tourist needs. She is a huge asset to this hotel.
I highly recommend this hotel for any visit to the Boston area and would stay there again.

the a/c fan was too high in the room and could not control it well and could not redirect it from blowing directly on my husband (he froze and he is one to be always hot). The a/c in the halls and lobby/breakfast area was not working and one elevator was not working, very inconvenient and we were not happy with this.

We just got back from a week's stay and we were so impressed with the service we received. Renee at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a junior suite since we were staying for a week and that ended up being such a bonus. Our son just had knee surgery and with crutches the extra room was perfect. Simir (spelled correctly? and, I believe, the manager on duty) was so upbeat and professional. Even when the A/C went out downstairs for a little bit, his attitude was top-notch in the heat.
The breakfasts were plentiful and the workers kept the area super clean. Apples were available in the lobby to take with you during the day and that was a nice extra.
We did not have a car in Boston and the location for the hotel was really good as far as using public transportation. There is a hill to get to the station and normally that would not be an issue for our family. But, with a son on crutches, it was a bit difficult. We ended up renting a wheel chair for the week from a local vendor and that took care of that struggle.
Overall, our experience was wonderful and I recommend this hotel 100%!

Our family checked in for a couple of days around the 4th of July because the T was just a couple of blocks away. Greeted at check-in with a spin of the wheel and won 1,000 bonus points. Also offered us bags of snacks upon check in as Priority Club members. In the room, a personal note from the general Manager was waiting for us along with bottled water. We felt like the most special of guests. Staff was alos exceptional with helping us find our bearings in a new city, especially Jimmy at the front desk. The next morning, the business center computer was set to italian and after trying to assist without success, the front desk staff allowed me the use of their computer and printer to chart out our map for the day as we traveled to Philly. Parking is limited, but our spot was great. Parking lot secure and even good for a game of frisbee, catch and a little basketball ball-handling practice! From the 7th floor, we saw the fireworks perfectly on the 4th which was the highlight of the trip. Best trip ever!

We were very pleased with our room condition and how we were greeted by the staff. We always had plenty of clean towels and hot water. Will be returning frequently within the next 6 months for extended stays. It's the next best thing to home.

Our plane arrived very early and we were tired. We stopped by the Holiday Inn Express early just to see if we would be able to check in. The manager was so helpful and had us eat breakfast while he found a room for us. We were able to then rest and then go out refreshed and start our vacation. ALL of the staff at this hotel were very professional and helpful. This hotel was one of the cleanest places that I have ever stayed at.
I would absolutely advise you to stay here!!!

Last stop on a chorale road trip, and by far the best. Lots of "small" things that I appreciate: good towels, lots of outlets for electronic stuff, real desk-type working space, bathroom large enough to turn around in without bruising myself, bed reading lights, plus a wonderful bed, all added up to a great stay physically. But it was the staff that put it over the top: there for us when we arrived tired (and maybe cranky?:-), and every time we asked for something. Late night laundry? Best close place for Italian? Mid-night place that delivers (and bring it to the room!)? Close drug store for sore throat meds(!) ? 24-hour dry cleaners? Plus lots of things I probably don't know about. It wasn't just the service though, it was the attitude of caring about our comfort and well-being. I've stayed in "5-star" hotels with staff who were *less* professional and less caring than Ralph and Dana. They knew the area, the facility, and appeared to know (and like) the patrons. Ralph was especially gracious and friendly, always seeming to have an eye or ear on the "office" while being able to focus on taking care of the guests. I'll be recommending Holiday Inn Express to friends and anyone who is planning an event!

We've stayed at this Holiday Inn Express several times over the past four years when visiting my daughter who attended Boston University. This has to be one of the best hotel values in Boston, access to the Lechmere T stop is within three blocks, an easy walk. The staff is great, parking is free, and the rooms I've had have been very clean and up to date. You don't get a great view but all we've done is sleep in this hotel and eat breakfast, and spent the rest of our time in Boston for a $2 T ride. Excellent value.
