Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just one big disappointing This hotel is mainly OK for stuff, service, equipments, so on. But, at the moment, room cooling system is broken and even if you set target temperature low, it never cools your room at all. One Sunday, I was staying in the room whole day and around 4 to 5 pm, I felt hot and found room inside was 26.5 C but as I mentioned above cooling system doesn't work at all. Because of weather in UK and location of this hotel, after 8 pm or before noon, it's OK if you open window, but most heating hours it doesn't work as it's hot outside as well. So, if you have plan to visit here in Summer season, and think you might stay in the room around 4 to 5, 6 pm, if you don't like hot room over 26 C, I recommend you to check in advance if cooling system has been repaired or not. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice business travel I went to Cambridge for a business travel and I stayed in this hotel. There were a problem with air conditioning but for myself it was pretty enough. The only bad thing was that the hotel is far away from the city centre and from the bus line so every day I had to take a taxi. July 17, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Recommend only with serious reservations Booked in April, arrived 1st week in July after an 8 hour journey to be told our room had been double booked and in fact, given away to someone else, who was booking in (having arrived just after we did) as we were being told this. It took 1 1/2 hours to find alternative, an other half hour plus to get a taxi and we were sent to what could only be described as a dive in the city centre - the hapless and hopelessly unprepared, inadequately resourced night 'manager'' didn't even think to put the fare on account, so I was charged for this - although that was paid back later. So we went to bed at 2 am, but had a taxi booked to take us back next morning. It arrived late. Ok - so, redeeming features. We presented the day manager with photos of the place we were forced to stay with broken windows, lethal electric socket and cable tangle, stained toilet and shower...The staff at Holiday Inn Express were apologetic. We were there for three nights in total: drinks on the house, dinner one night and room rent rebated. By the time we booked out after our third night, I was in no doubt that the managing staff present were genuinely embarrassed and concerned and had done everything in their power to make it up to us. No complaints there at all. It would have been great if the whole thing hadn't happened in the first place, and I still don't understand why it did. It would be good to have an explanation of why it came about; I dont blame the staff 'on the ground' for this, and I really do appreciate the attempts made to make it better, so thank you folks! (You know who you are...). But something from the higher management might be good... July 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than I thought Staying in a hotel next to a business park might not sound that appealing, but I chose the locartion as it's close to a couple of Park and Rides - with free parking and CCTV security - into Cambridge. The hotel has free parking, the rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable with free WiFi. Dinner was very good, service fast. And all at a very good price. July 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second home I've been staying at this hotel since about the day it opened. I haven't been for a couple of years, however, but now am working back in the area. They've lost the pool table, which is a shame, and Martin and Louise. Otherwise, not much has changed. It's quiet, there's always tons of room to park for free, although you may have to get creative in some spaces. It is isolated. There isn't anything else you can walk to (except a gym) and a taxi to and from Cambridge isn't cheap. However, rooms are good, clean and silent. Ignore the airport next door, there's only 3 flights a year from there. June 17, 2013

So we did not have the breakfast. The room is also very small and can hardly move once put down the baby cot. June 15, 2013

Stayed for two days and on reaching hotel did request an iron but it was not available immediately, so I said please drom either at night before 10:30 or next morning before 8:15, but nothing materialized. Had to go to work in a slightly crumpled shirt :) Next day morning, at the breakfast had to wait for teh scrambled eggs tray to be replenished, and when helped myself to a portion of that, found a hair in the scrambled egg. Its a good location, with a lovely view over the lake, but the frequent train noise can cause disturbance. June 10, 2013

We had a problem with the window not shutting properly - the Manager acted straight away and was very good sorting it out - he even gave us a complimentary drink at the bar that night for our inconvenience - lovely gesture! The room and beds were really comfy and spotless - very contemporary. The bar, lounge area with lovely leather sofas and breakfast was fantastic! Thank you June 3, 2013

The choice for breakfast was very poor compared to other Holiday Inns I have visited. The one evening meal we had was very disappointing and poor standard and value for money.(Small pot of chips and peas and a overcooked piece of frozen fish) I can now understand why there were very few people having an evening meal, compared to other Holiday Inns I have visited. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Attended Newmarket races over two days and needed an overnight stay. The location of this hotel was perfect as it took no time at all to get to the racecourse. Hotel staff were very welcoming and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and was exactly what we expected. Evening menu was limited but the snack we chose was well presented, edible and piping hot. Hadn't expected to get an evening meal of any description, so that was a bonus. Breakfast was ok with a good selection of 'cold' items and everything very fresh. The 'hot' food was only warm, and a choice of just sausage, beans and scrambled egg. However, in the small space provided for the breakfast area, it was more than adequate. Would have no hesitation in staying here again as it more than met our requirements, and therefore would recommend. May 23, 2013

But even Holiday Inns have a range, and this was a good one -- helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast (though slightly less choice than some others). This hotel does what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express and it has the added benefit of friendly staff. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff and Relaxed Atmosphere We have stayed at a few Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express both at home and in the USA and this hotel is one of the best. The staff were very helpful and courteous without being over the top and intrusive. The rooms and public areas are clean and tidy. Although the hotel is next to Cambridge Airport there was very little noise. All in all an enjoyable stay and we will be back the next time we visit Family in the area. April 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed unlike other hotels We stayed at the Cambridge Holiday Inn at Coldhams Business Prk for one night. We received a warm welcome. When showed to our room we were pleasantly surprised. The double bed was very comfortable (not too hard). The room was spotless. The bathroom was also sparkling clean. We had a lovely stay and in the morning, we hadn't expected a full English breakfast as the price was so reasonable. However, the breakfast was very good for what we paid. There were continental items as well as hot items which provided a hearty breakfast and a good start to the day. The only negative comment is that the bar prices are too high compared to local pubs and also we resent having to pay for film channels and wifi. Apart from that we highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value for money, I requested a quiet room as my husband has trouble sleeping and they gave us a room at the back of the Hotel overlooking a lake, it was very quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fine. Hot and cold buffet. We will definitely return to this Hotel when we next visit Cambridge. April 5, 2013

For travellers, arriving by car the spacious carpark is very convenient and free of charge.Because parking one`s car in Cambridge is normally very difficult and expensive. The hotel is situated in a quiet area, so it is possible to open the windows at night. For nightbirds the way to Cambridge town is not far, but you will need a taxi or the bus. ( 10 minutes walk to the busstation in Mill Road) . The served food in the bar was tasty and very good. Only the breakfast was very poor and this spoiled a bit our good impression of the hotel. The scrambled eggs were tasteless like they were made of eggpowder. No bacon, no boiled egg and only some lonely slices of cheese for spreading. The choice of fruit consisted of tinned peach and some apples in a bowl. The bread consisted of toast and very soggy rolls. The coffee came out of a coffeemachine, but that is a matter of taste. With a bit of effort the breakfast could be improved and that would enhance the image of the hotel very much. March 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I use this hotel because its close to the area I need to visit. In the past its been fine to stay here, but this visit was not one of the best. When I checked in they told me I had no reservation, then they found someone had checked in using my reservation, they did not seem to mind and gave me another room. The first key they gave me did not work as did the second key, the room was cold as it seems the heating was turned off. Breakfast was difficult as both coffee machines where not working and one had leaked all over the floor so it was difficult to walk in the breakfast space. Not a good experience. March 13, 2013

Very far from the city so it is not easy to in/out unless taking taxis that are very expensive and at the end the low hotel rate is increased by this extra costs. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Late check-out great but room card access key had to be changed We stayed at Holiday Inn Express, Coldhams Business Park, Cambridge on the night of 22 Dec and again on 30 Dec 2012. On 22 Dec, our flight into Heathrow was delayed by more than 4 hours. It was 1:30 am on 23 Dec by the time we arrived at the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at the ease and speed of check-in, and within a few minutes we were already in our room settling-in for the night. When we stayed again on 30 Dec, I requested for late check-out on 31 Dec since our flight was at night. We were very happy that we were allowed to check-out at 2pm when normal check-out time is 12 noon. However, when we returned to our room at 1:30 pm, our access card could not unlock the door. We had to return to reception and had to wait a few minutes to be attended to since there were others there ahead of us. We were told that the access card would not work after 12 noon and we had to be given another access card. This was done promptly but because of the queue, by the time we returned to our room it was alreeady 1:40pm. We therefore had to rush to finish our packing in order to check-out by 2pm. It would have been better if we could had been informed about the need to change access cards at the time we asked for late check-out. This would have made the overall experience much more pleasant.
