I stay at this property very regularly, and it presents an excellent value proposition for anyone visiting Cambridge or wanting to commute to London. Excellent staff, and good value for money however the only criticism is the quality of mattress are quite bad. I can virtually sleep anywhere, but if you could get new mattresses, this would make a 4 star property, a 5 star! Thank you November 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A great nights sleep The room was a little more expensive than we would have normally paid but was a nicer room than our normal hotel and with breakfast included it made it the perfect choice. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room is very clean and tidy and the little finishing touches in the room really finished things off nicely. The only issue we had was the breakfast was very hot and there was not much of it but apart we had a great nights sleep in a warm room on the coldest night of the year so far. Well done for making us feel welcome November 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not perfect, but given the price ... Very clean, friendly and efficient. Bedroom clean and tidy but the mattress was like a trampoline - terribly uncomfortable. We also asked to change one of the pillows from firm to soft as we were going out. A different pillow was on the bed when we got back but it certainly wasn't a soft one! Why offer the opportunity to choose your pillow if you don't have any different? Breakfast felt cheap - limited choice of hot breakfast and awful sausages. Cheap,boring bread and crunchy croissants. We'd have preferred less choice but better quality. All in all we know we paid a budget price so weren't expecting a luxury experience. We'd just have preferred it to be more consistent across the board. November 25, 2015

Dead easy to get to from the adjacent station but a bit awkward from the A505, for sat navs will tend to send you on the wrong side of the station and there is no Holiday Inn Express signage from the A505, so look for 'Council Depot' instead. Parking is ample. Check in was simple, friendly and welcoming. My room was spacious, clean and despite being next to the station platform, it was very quiet and hardly heard any trains!! Had a comfortable night's sleep but despite the bathroom being recently refurbished, the annoying thing in the shower was that the shower gel dispenser is set too far away from the showering area and too far up to use effectively with both hands. Breakfast was typical HIE, but being the first one down, it looked and tasted good. You could've got an excellent but I mark you down on the position of the shower gel dispenser and the non-existent mobile phone signal within the building and immediately outside it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ideal for Duxford/Christmas shopping in Cambridge Staff were excellent. I made a few comments about the room as hair dryer nozzle would not stay on and there was a smell of drains in the en-suite. However, ideal location for visiting Duxford, Saffron Walden and Cambridge. Room quiet despite being next to railway and main road. Comfortable room and good all-round facilities for price. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Duxford The hotel was easy to find, clean and reasonably quiet. The railway that runs to the rear of the hotel was the only down side for me. I asked for a room to the front of the hotel where the noise was minimal however the trains could be felt as they passed by a small vibration that reverberated through the floor however this was not a problem for sleeping. The hotel is about 1 mile away from Imperial War Museum Duxford and therefore is a great place to stop. November 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good room facilities and friendly, helpful staff Pleased with the facilities in the spacious room. Large bed, good TV and internet service, staff very friendly and helped when I needed it. Well-fitted out bathroom, pleasant lighting and air conditioning worked! Overall, facilities very good for this class of hotel. Hotel is close to a pub (other side of car park) where there is an arrangement to charge food to one's room. Food was good if on the expensive side. Good car parking. Close to M11. Only took me 20 minutes to drive to Cambridge on back roads avoiding the jams on the M11. Two moans - the pillows contained the foam filling that is not very responsive to one's head. I ditched all but one for sleeping purposes. And although I know Cambridge and area is inordinately expensive for hotels, the disparity between my Sunday night and Monday night price was huge. Sunday night was good value, but Monday night's price would have got me a room in a reasonably local four star hotel. November 1, 2015
