Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly, helpful staff The front desk staff were extremely helpful. The room was clean and the halls were quiet. March 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable The hotel was nice…kind of tucked away so my GPS had a hard time finding it. I got there kind of early after driving all night and asked to check in I was told the hotel was sold out so it wasn't possible however Im pretty sure this was not the case….After attempting to call the help desk because Im an IHG member suddenly a room became available….outside of that 20min of frustration the rest of my stay was pleasant….the bed was not very comfortable. The staff was ok as was the breakfast…Id stay again but Id hope for better service when I do… November 6, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mini vacay was mediocre The staff was very friendly and courteous, BUT that carpet in my room is horribly dirty with stains and it smelled! That's a serious cleanliness issue. October 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good overnight place to stay I was in District Heights on business. The room was good and I was able to relax in peace. Breakfast choices were run of the mill for HIE properties. I'd stay again. October 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, good service except... The shuttle service had a driver that was late to work, so I was a little late to the conference on the first day. The other four times I used the shuttle it was on time. The internet would not work on my IPad in my room, but worked in the lobby. I slept good and the room had a frig and microwave. October 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hospitality and Nice to stay Have good facility like Wifi, Shuttle service to metro. Like the hospitality served by the staffs. October 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by First Impression My husband and I walked into the room and it smelled odd also there was a very noticeable stain on the sofa. From that point forward it was downhill. The mattress was very hard and TV channels were limited The hotel needs updating and I don't plan to stay there ever again. September 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff but location was not the most scenic My overall experience was ok. I was a bit disappointed as the rooms were a bit dated. I stayed a Holiday Inn Express recently within the last month and the rooms were bigger and a lot more comfortable and I paid less than I did here for the night. I was also disappointed and found it inappropriate that 15 min before breakfast was over the dining attendant turn out the lights while people were still eating. The location around the hotel was under construction so it looked abandon. I would not recommend this location but I would recommend holiday Inn express as it is a good chain in general. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Experience Our stay In the Holiday Inn Express was very good. The staff was excellent. The room was clean and nice variety of breakfast selection. Timely complimentary shuttle van service. Would stay again when in the Camp Springs MD. area. August 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay I definitely enjoyed my stay here; clean rooms, comfortable beds, great customer service from everyone; adequate pool size and the privacy fence was a huge plus; lobby entrance felt very welcoming and warm and the breakfast was adequate; hotel is approximately 20 mins or less to DC, depending on your route. I would definitely stay again. August 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Room nice and roomy, however: Our room was nice and roomy, however the television channel choices were very limited and we had ants in our room. There were not enough ants to affect our overall stay but they were a nuisance. I August 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff was exceptional and bed comfortable The accomodations were very good. Location a bit difficult. August 8, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Good breakfast. Fridge had old food in it. Stairwell was stinky but the room was okay otherwise. August 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FRIENDLY... The entire staff was so helpful and courteous! My only suggestion is that you recommend guests to bring their own coins to do laundry with. Other than that, THE ENTIRE TRIP WAS A GREAT STAY! August 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 房间有点霉味 给我的是在一楼,房间有点味道,其他都不错,地铁口出来,让酒店派车来接的,否则还真不好找,退房也是让送到地铁站的。 July 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel but poor breakfast choices. I will stay here over and over and over again. I just can't eat the breakfast. The choices were poor and not all people eat PORK. There should be alternative like turkey or chicken breakfast products, more fresh fruite. Healthy heart, more time to stay. July 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rewards stay even more rewarding staff was so friendly & helpful, had a great time! July 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by house keeping the staff was great but housekeeping was very poor the 3 days I was there. the head of it needs to have a good talking to July 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Staff and Location Our experience at this hotel was an excellent one! We chose to stay at this particular hotel because its proximity to the metro. The hotel provides a shuttle, which we appreciated. Some visitors chose to walk, but we did not feel comfortable walking with just us women and no males. We were a little late arriving one night, and a staff member was nice enough to come get us anyway! Overall, the staff was amazing and definitely went above and beyond. The one negative that we had was the inconsistency with housekeeping. We stayed for a week. One day, we came back and one of the beds was made, but the other wasn't. Some days housekeeping would leave enough towels and the next day they wouldn't. We didn't complain to the front desk, so they should not be held accountable. It wasn't that big of a deal for us, and we took it in stride. I have no doubts that the manager would have addressed this if we had complained. I have already recommended this property to family and friends! June 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rude Front Desk Personnel When we made our reservations we requested an early check coming in from Florida (Auto Train). We were told by the reservationist no problem "he understood the tiredness of the long train ride, just to arrive at the hotel upon our arrival in Washington". We arrived around 2:00pm. First off the cuff was food thawing on the check in counter. Obviously pastries for the morning breakfast. I asked the Desk Clerk to move the food so I could have somewhere to sit my handbag and he said no; that check in was where he was standing and not where the food was placed on the registration desk. He also informed us we were early and could not check in until 3pm and asked my husband and I to leave and come back at 3. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. Our room had stains in the ceiling and dirty wash cloths; not good. June 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by very nice general manager even the location is far from down town, not similar to description. BUT the General Manager, very interesting and friendly guy, make our trip much funny. thanks a lot! June 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service. I and my sister enjoyed our three night stay, it was very wonerful. All the staff especially the staff that checkedus in, the kitchen staffs are excellent, helpful with a good smile, that is what customer service is all about, my first impression. June 13, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by needs work..great staff The staff was great. From the friendly maids to the counter people. Excellent people. Now the bad news...The internet dropped connection every two or three hours the entire 14 days I was there. The cable system had about 20 channels tops. I know for a sight seer vacationer its no big deal but for an extended visitor it was annoying and it made working from the room difficult if not impossible at times. The paper stopped about the 3rd day but the staff would produce one if asked. The breakfast was weak. Best thing was the coffee. The room had stains in the ceiling and just had the appearance of old and worn out. They are working hard and I talked to the manager a number of times as he asked for input during breakfast a number of times while I was there. That shows they care. With alittle work this could be a real good hotel but right now...not so great. May 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by consistancy is important. Consistancy is important. The Internet was always lousy. the cable system had far too few channels. the morning paper stopped being dropped off at the door after the second day of a 14 day stay. thee room was good. The staff attentive which made up for most of the inferior things. If your a traveler for a few days this is a fine hotel. If your an extended visitor or plan to work from the hotel stay somewhere else. Its pricey for what you get and where it is. May 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel Stay Whenever we visit our daughter who is stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, we stay at this hotel. It's not ideal to be in a hotel for the holidays but we have stayed at this particular hotel for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The staff (especially the front desk manager) made this stay wonderful! Everyone was super friendly and greeted us by name. There was a stocking filled with goodies and a card on our door on Christmas morning and the free breakfast was Excellent!! The room was very clean, spacious, and the beds/pillows are comfortable. This location is minutes from the base. We've stayed here three times and wont stay anywhere else. May 10, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't expect to much at this location This "Express" is a bit tired and not maintained at the level I expect. My stay was for four days. While there I discovered someone else's leftover food in my fridge, nail clippings by the desk, cigarette burn lobes in my sheets, and other minor irritants. My travel associate, (also a platinum member), and I were less than thrilled about having both been put in handicapped rooms. Every time you take a shower, in the wheel chair access able shower, half the floor gets flooded.....nice. May 1, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 4/14-20/13 Stay at Holiday Inn Express. During my six day stay I had to dispose of eight stink bugs, several were present during the room being cleaned by the maid. Also I normally returned at 5:00PM and on several occasions the room had not been cleaned yet, requiring me to talk to the front desk since the maid didn't speak English and had to go back out for 45 minutes until the room was cleaned. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Convienent I took a group of 12 teenagers and had 3 rooms. We were there to tour DC and found this hotel to be perfect for our needs. Becasue it is out of DC the price is very affordable. However the Branch Ave Metro Station is only 2 blocks from the hotel and they have a free shuttle to it. Within 20 mins you can be right on the Mall in DC super easy. One thing is the shuttle does not run late which we did not realize the first day. When we called for a pickup they told us that so we were going to walk but becasue it was cold, they still came to get us. We choose to drive our own car and park it at thestation the next day which was only $5 for the whole day. I will definitely stay at this hotel again no questions asked. Oh and the Staff was amazing. So incredibly helpful with everything we needed. April 19, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experience The room was priced at a good value for the area but they upgraded me and than charged me for the upgrade. I should have looked at the paper I was signing but I never had that happen before. It was still a good value at that price had the room been nice, it wasn't. Mattress was 20 years past its prime couch was uncomfortable room needs definite upgrade. The shower was terrible had to yank with both hands to get water to turn on than it was either scalding hot or ice cold and I had to stand in an inch of water because of a slow drain. Breakfast was on the lower end even for Holiday Inn standards, not one piece of fruit anywhere, some of us like to eat healthier. Forgot to mention there was two bus of teenage girls staying in the hotel when I was there and of course the best place to put them is on the top floor so they can dance on top of everyones head until 11:30pm. By the way I'm platinum elite priority club member I don't know how to make that show up at the top this is my first review it's a shame it had to be negative. April 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service but remote location If staying in Washington, but wanting to avoid city prices, this is an ideal hotel. It is 20 minutes from downtown DC on the Green Metro line (last stop Branch Ave) and you can easily walk from the station to the hotel in 10 minutes, or call the hotel who will send a shuttle bus if available. It has a friendly staff, prepared to go the extra mile (helping us with restaurant choices), excellent bedroom facilities, a good hot buffet breakfast, and we would stay here again. If you are not driving, however, there is NOWHERE to eat nearby. Red Lobster is 5 minutes walk away and we left there in disgust after waiting an hour for a table - do NOT risk it. The shuttle bus will run you to nearby shopping/restaurant areas, but we arrived too late to make this possible. This does not detract from the quality of the experience the hotel staff gave us and top marks to them for a very nice stay. April 16, 2013
