The hotel is close to, but not in, Canterbury. To get to the hotel you need to exit the A2 at the service station and go down a short lane to the hotel. The only exit from the hotel is back onto a fast, busy road via a very short sliproad. The hotel is in a constricted space next to a busy road, and does not have much of a presence as you approach. But once you are inside, the hotel is well up to the normal standards of the chain.

Staff as always pleasant and helpful. Room very clean and comfortable although on a personal note the bed could do with being a bit firmer, the toilet a bit higher and not such a high step into the shower.
The breakfast was plentiful and kept being filled up with fresh warm food.
Noise level from outside is a problem here being next to the A2 but after a couple of nights we found we did not notice it too much.
Good access to all local amenities.

The hotel was much less crowded than on the occasion of our last visit. With fewer guests we had much quicker access to the breakfast bar and better service for the evening meal.
Service was good last time.

On arrival we were welcomed by cheerful friendly staff. Lovely quiet, comfort and very clean room, breakfast and dinner good. We enjoyed our stay and thought the Holiday Inn Express very good value for money and would highly recommend it.

Good location for travellers to Dover to rest overnight before sailing. The food and choice is good and the staff are excellent. The rooms are en-suite and very comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and TV although I could only find the channel listing and not the actual programmes

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Canterbury. Whilst the location of the hotel is not the most attractive, in every other respect our stay was excellent.
