Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by an enjoyable break we were a bit apprehensive when we booked a holiday inl n express, as we were nt sure what to expect, we were definately not dissapointed, our room was light and sunny, clean and comfortable,and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful, on our 1st eve we had dinner at the hotel, and it was very nice, we stayed 4 nights, and breakfasts in the morning were always adequate and hot and plenty of it. most enjoyable. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Staff very nice The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel wasn't easy to find as it wasn't signposted very well. Drove past it once and had to go around the A2 again as it is hidden behind a petrol station. The bathroom toilet was dirty. Cobwebs in the extractor fan. Bedsheets were stained. Overall, the room was modern and clean apart from the above problems. September 15, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Location & cleanliness at Meals You have to access (in & out) the Hotel via a Service Area on one side of a dual carriageway. There are no alternative access points. The Hotel being just behind the Petrol Station. This should be mentioned in Hotel description as whilst just acceptable for overnight stop en route, certainly not a location for any longer. Evening meal was served to table by a Server with dirty finger nails which actually were touching part of our meals as he carried the plates. Very off putting. A number of us were cold because the air conditioning was on full blast. As 2 nights booked we abandoned 2nd & when asked why I was told that the Service area location was not mentioned because they were not on a Service Area! Staff member quite verbally aggressive during conversation. September 10, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, quiet room Room is quiet and clean. Good breakfast and variety. The mini croissants and danish pastry are delicious. Efficient breakfast staff. The wifi is too slow, 256 kbs!!! Emailing my business associates was impossible. Hope the wifi speed will be upgraded in the future. September 5, 2014

Suprisingly quiet for a hotel by a main road but coming back to it out of Canterbury involves a U-turn off the A2 after which the signage is not as obvious as it might be - we made it second time around! The hotel is next to a busy road which you can occasionally hear. Inside the hotel all is clean and nice, the disabled room was excellent. September 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good stop off hotel Good basic clean hotel for stop off on way back from France. We stayed in a family room - one double bed and one sofa bed - small but adequate for one night stay. The children could feel the springs of the sofa bed so we asked for another duvet to put on the mattress as a liner - no problem for the staff - they brought it to our room within 15 minutes. Good choice for breakfast - self service; eat as much as you like. This is the third time we have stayed here and would stay again for another stop off on way to or from France. Very good value for money and only short distance into Canterbury town Centre. September 1, 2014

Overall the hotel is understaffed, so although the staff are friendly, everything happens slowly as there is not enough staff members to see to the guests. It took about 1/2 hour to check in as the guy on the desk was dealing with so many customers, for example, not great after a long day..... So although the hotel itself was OK, and the staff were OK, do not expect an express service! Breakfast was also exceptionally poor. August 27, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent all round We stayed here twice in a week, firstly on a Monday then the following Saturday. At all times the staff were courteous, most helpful and welcoming. Every request was dealt with efficiently and with a smile. Both rooms were clean and comfortable and we slept well. There was lots of nice food to choose from at breakfast and the hot food was hot, not lukewarm or cold! Can't praise the staff here highly enough. August 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service from a hidden treasure Having eventually found this hotel - better signage would be helpful especially for those not coming from London - we want to thank all the staff for making our stay so pleasurable. We found the fan provided in our room so useful on hot nights. Despite having two coach parties to cater for one night the staff made sure we were suitably seated away from the rest, that our food was promptly served and we were comfortable at all times. Their friendly but efficient manner was much appreciated. There are not that many hotels where you can see rabbits playing outside the windows! If in the area we would certainly pop in again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value for Money We had a standard family room which was fine for a one night stay, our girls shared the sofa bed which made the room a little small when it was in use but not a problem for one night. The hotel is next to a main road however our room was quiet. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise much better than we were expecting, a help yourself buffet which included sausages, scrambed eggs and beans, fresh fruit and warm pastries. The chef kept bringing out plenty of food for the busy restaurant. If we needed to be in the area again we would use this hotel again. August 12, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by room 115 excessive noise The Holiday Inn Express at Canterbury is as you would expect from a Holiday Inn hotel, fine if you are staying one night on the way to somewhere else. However if you are given room 115 and want to be able to sleep at night I suggest you demand to be moved. The room has a refrigeration / power unit situated 6 ft away from the window which hums loudly 24 hours a day and makes sleeping difficult and having the window open impossible. In fairness we asked to change room for our 2nd night which they arranged but there was not a hint of an apology from the manager at reception for the disruption. August 3, 2014

All the staff were helpful and pleasant, and the choice and quality and service of food for dinner was excellent. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 1st bad expericence we stay in hoilday inns on a regular basis,what we normally get is a very good standard at a great price but on this occasion there standards fell well short this included cups for tea/coffee had to to asking 2.when we rang to reception to ask for something it took ages to answer the phone tea spoons 4.requested the use of an iron it was delivered but did not work 5.there were no free papers 6.the bed was too small 7, our door key did not work and we had too go back twice to put it right 8. breakfast kept on running out of hot products all in all not good August 1, 2014

Zimmer klein und laut, leider auch nicht klimatisiert. Das Frühstück typisch für Holiday Inn Express - es reicht zur Sättigung. Die BAr ist nett, das Personal sehr entgegenkommend. Although check-in was not until 3-00 p.m. and we had to get ready for a funeral 10 miles away for 3-15 p.m.,they checked us in early as to avoid any rush. Spotless accommodation & would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Express to all . July 26, 2014

We needed to know a good City centre car park, the reception gave us a map and looked up the post code for the car park, this proved very useful. Overall a very good experience. July 23, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Schöne Lage, um Ausflüge zu machen Wir haben das Hotel gebucht, weil wir mit 2 Kindern ein Hotel haben wollten mit Frühstücksbuffet. Zimmer waren gut, Frühstück war gut, Mitarbeiter waren nett. Lage direkt an der Autobahn war leiser als erwartet, gut abgeschirmt. Einzig negativ war die Zufahrt, wir mussten lange suchen. Würden das Hotel auf jeden Fall noch einmal nehmen. 10 Minuten bis zur Innenstadt. July 11, 2014

Express before and this was in line with what I expected on the way back from France at beginning of July The only downside of the stay was that our room (201) was directly above the kitchen and we had to put up with the noise of the kitchen extract fans from early morning. Also the room was strifiling as it was quite warm outside and we couldn't open the window because the smell of cooked food which was coming from the kitchen was drifting across and into our bedroom window. Liked the flexibility of breakfast so didn't feel we needed to be up too early while on holiday. July 8, 2014
