Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cjbehr Great Value & Great Time
Recently stayed at this location for WrestleMania weekend. It was conveniently located less than a mile from the venue & a good launching off point for any other activities I had planned over the course of 5 days.
The staff is very friendly & the hotel is clean. It's in the midst of a remodel, but this didn't impact my ability to relax & unwind. If you need someplace to stay after anything in the Meadowlands area, I HIGHLY recommend this location.

This was by far one of the best hotel stays I have had. The rooms were completely new and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was great. It's a block from the metro to take you into Time Square. I will definitely consider staying here when I come back!

Clean rooms, friendly and very helpful staff, excellent hot breakfast with a lot of choices.
Hotel was under renovation but very little inconvenience and noi major issues due to the renovation. Breakfast area was inclined to get crowded due to small area because of renovation but this will make it better when completed.
Very quiet and comfortable.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buffalobon Not as good as expected
I stay at HI and HI Express hotels quite often. Unfortunately this was not up to the quality I expected.
I got in the room and tried the WIFI. It was down, so I reached for the phone to call the front desk. The phone was also not working... So I went to the front desk and they sent a service man. He said that the phones are new and had not charged yet... Not a great excuse in my opinion.
The repair guy fixed the phone but the wireless internet was not working. Thus to have any connection at all I needed to use a small cable that barely made it to the desk. The repair man said he would look for another cable but I never heard from him again. This made using the computer difficult as I often spread work on the bed and work from there.
In the morning I went to take a shower and found that there was no shower head... Just a pipe.
No, "Sorry sir," or offer to make it right by the hotel... As a Gold Level Priority Club member I am disappointed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GoHabsGo In a word... Spectacular
We've stayed at this hotel a few times with no issues, but this was the best yet. You name it, it gets a passing grade: parking, hotel staff, cleanliness, breakfast options, no bathroom issues (e.g. sink, toilet, shower), very comfortable bed, convenient little fridge and microwave, decent TV with many HD channels, etc...
All this, and just a few minutes from Manhattan... without all the Manhattan prices.
Very conveniently located, and highly recommendable.

The property is being renovated. I stayed in a non smoking room, however you could smell smoke in the room and down the hall from the smoking rooms. The front desk girl could have been more cheerful.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cali88 Great room, terrible price and service
Wanting to have a great New Years Eve, we decided to stay here despite the outrageously inflated prices; we were willing to pay the amount to have a relaxing and fun experience. We get to our room and try to relax in the short amount of time we had before dinner but we were soon called to say my card was declined. The room was already paid for but they were saying it was declined over the insurance fee.. Either way, we go downstairs to find out what is wrong.. and are given ATTITUDE. Finally I suggested that they just try to run the card again, maybe they put the numbers in wrong. The girl agreed, again with attitude and as if she was trying to "humor me" After she did it, it immediately went through. She HAD put the numbers in wrong the first time. After a few awkward minutes, WE apologized to them and went back upstairs, which is ridiculous. They never apologized for embarrassing me for no reason, or for taking time out of my vacation all due to their mistake. That's when we went back upstairs and went through the kitchen, to find a plastic plate with dirt and food all over the bottom. Later we tried to request a late check out, a perk meant for priority members that we signed up for and were told that they don't do that. Poor customer service and a dirty kitchen, thanks so much! Never coming back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by min913 Outstanding!
The staff at the hotel are amazing. The hotel itself was spotless. The room was very comfortable, we all had a good nights sleep. The kids enjoyed the heated pool after a long day in NYC. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices. We always stay in the Meadowlands area for convenience and price during New Years Eve to see the ball drop in Times Square. The 163 bus stops across the street and takes you into the Port Authority bus station in 10 minutes, a 5 minute walk from Times Square. Highly recommend this hotel. We would definitely stay there again. Special shout out to Frances and Kimberly at the front desk who were awesome and Jessica at Guest Services in Salt Lake.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nothappycamper Do not keep promises!
I received a charge on my statement that needed to be removed. I explained to the young lady at the front desk that I needed a receipt for business expense reports. She was having problems with getting the charge removed and promised me that I would have a copy of the revised billing sent to my email that afternoon.
It has been a week and I still have not received my final billing statement.
Without that statement, I will be held personally responsible for that hotel bill.

This was our first time staying at the Holiday Inn Express and we were extremely happy. There is not one negative thing I can say, the beds were fantastic, the breakfast choices plentiful, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. If you are doing NYC on a budget then this is the hotel for you!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hayhauler05 Great stay
Our stay was great. Being able to save money staying outside of NYC was big!! The bus stop basically across the road was a huge help, using public transportation was not a bad experience at all. The 163 bus drops you off @ Times Square and really made getting from the hotel to NYC easy. We were able to walk from the hotel to Metlife stadium to watch the Jet game and felt safe and had no problems. Great stay for us, this was our first time to NYC and it was a good one for us.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jay28 Stayed 1 Night
My wife and I stayed at the hotel 1 night for a wedding. The rooms were nice and comfortable, and the breakfast was fine in the morning. Location was easy to get to. There was an unusually large gap from the floor to the bottom of our door (about 1 1/2 inch) that let in light, but we just used an extra towel to cover it up.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MCS2012 Check your billing charges
Accommodation in this hotel is just plain average, I would have expected the rate to be cheaper than what I paid for since the location is outside New York City.
When they tell you that the 'bus is just right across the road", don't expect it to be just right across 'coz you still have to walk for 10 minutes to get to the other side as you can't cross the road freely as there is a wall in the middle of the road. The bus is also unreliable, once I waited for nearly an hour for a 'standing only' bus, it doesn't follow the schedule. On the other hand, it only takes 20 mins to get to the Port Authority Bus terminal which is in the centre of the city.
When you check-out, I advised you to make sure that there will be no other charges made to your credit card, I suggest that you pay cash for your incidentals as I had a bad experience with my credit card being charged for no reason and it has caused me international phone calls to enquire about what they've done and as of this writing I still didn't get any explanation why!
other than that this hotel is just good for a night's rest, nothing fancy, although clean and you can use their internet.
But I won't come back to stay here again!.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rozzi73 Nice hotel, friendly staff. A++++
We stayed here this past week to attend a football game at Giants stadium. Great staff and very friendly.
Room was very clean and spacious. We were in a room with 2 double beds and a couple we were traveling with stayed in the king suite room.
The king suite room was very nice. Had a couch and fridge in it. Wish we would have reserved that type instead.
The best part of the stay was the continental breakfast. So much food to choose from. It was like we were getting a full breakfast at Denny's. Hot foods like eggs and bacon, warmed cinnamon buns. Plus cereals, yogurt, fruit. Coffee and juices. It was great to get so much to eat before our trip home.
Will definitely stay here again...
Oh yeah- as a priority Club member I was also given a bag at check in with a bottle of water, some cookies, and mints. Very nice touch. Never received that from a chain hotel before.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MikeTMR Great value
Can't ask for a better value. Smiling and courteous personnel, clean room, but most important a good free "buffet type" breakfast that caters to my wife (yogurt, fruits, cereals, whole wheat bread) as well as to me and my sons (signature cinnamon buns (please never remove this one from your offering), scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage). Kudos to both the operator and the HIE brand managers for offering exactly what I look for in a hotel.

The Meadowlands property is easily accessible to major highways. Close enough to the city, but far enough to make your stay more affordable. I had a great view of the Manhattan skyline, which was an added bonus.
