Even though this is not full service hotel (restaurant, bar, full business center, etc.) this hotel and especially the staff meets our needs in a full and professional way. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by manager either doesn't give a squirt or just didn't want to hear it i have stayed in ihg hotels 100+ nights for the last 9 years - THIS IS MY 1ST REVIEW - sad to say I'm not writing it for good reasons-for the first time in 9 years I tried to express my great satisfaction and gratitude towards an employee (katlin? i wish i could recall her name- she went well above and beyond her job duties to make sure everything was perfect with my stay - she displayed an attitude that led me to believe that she truly cared about the hotel and its guests) i tried calling that manager directly but after calling twice and asking to speak to her at 820 am (must be nice to have banker hours) I was unsuccessful. i left my number and of course got no call - she probably thought i was calling to complain - and you know how the world works today - when the going gets tough - avoid it. I hate having to write this review - i feel like it is lame to hide any feelings worth stating behind the internet (thats why i TOOK THE TIME OUT OF MY DAY and called). May 8, 2016

Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a nice kitchenette. The bed was well used, however. I seem to feel every spring. Could use some updating or a mattress topper. Still would stay again. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average The outside appearance of the hoel is nice. The breakfast food and area is good. The pool and workout area is the size of a closet. There is not a lot of options. OUr room smelled like smoke, even though it is non-smoking hotel. The temperature in the roo was hard to regulate. Overall, ok, for one, night, but that is about it! May 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated Hotel As a frequent visitor to Holiday Inn Express, I was disappointed in our stay at HIE Carmel. The floorboards throughout the hotel are creaky and loud. Additionally, the walls were paper thin. I would not recommend staying at this hotel based on the building's outdated structure. May 3, 2016
