Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You MUST stay here when visiting San Francisco! :-) This is by far the BEST hotel we have ever stayed at. This was our second visit and it was even better than our first. Our first visit was September 2012 right after we got married and our second visit was last week for our 'Babymoon' as we have a baby girl due in August. It was nothing less than perfect! The room was so spacious and extremely clean, the beds and pillows are very comfortable as well as the bedding. The t.v channels are above average and the breakfast is wonderful with lots of choices! :-) Of course the best part is definitely the staff. The Manager Omar is by far one of the nicest accommodating gentleman you will ever meet. He has many good recommendations no matter what you would like to do during your stay. Shandin (spelling?) is also so caring and she has such a great heart. The staff at this hotel truly respect you and treat you like family... This is a wonderful hotel to stay at if you are visiting San Francisco as it is close to the BART Station, but far enough away from downtown that it's the perfect 'home away from home'. Castro Valley is also close to some beautiful places like Livermore and Monterey Bay. We highly recommend the beaches at Carmel - absolutely stunning! We will definitley be staying at this hotel again in the future with our new little family... You won't regret it! :-) June 24, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by good location stay was 3 nights - no availale working laundry - kept being informed it would be in working order shortly - never was working the eggs and biskets at breakfast were cold even tho i was at the breakfast less than 30 minutes from opening - it was like this all three days (why do they always put cheap cheese in the middle of the eggs - they would be better scrambled-and then would be easier to eat even if cold) should have went to Carrows restaurant a couple of blocks away This will not be my first choice next time June 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Updated hotel falls just short of excellent This hotel has been recently updated to a Holiday Inn Express from another brand. The bed was comfortable and the TV had a good selection of stations. The Internet worked well. The employees were very friendly and helpful. We had an issue printing from the Business Center, and the Front Desk agent helped us in printing our boarding passes from the front desk as we had an early morning flight the next day. The hotel has only a single elevator which was also updated, but is rather slow. For an updated hotel, we were also disappointed with the bathroom. It didn't look as though the room with the toilet and shower/tub (sink was outside the bathroom) had been updated at all. Sink area was nice and provided plenty of room. Room was large. Couch looked very worn for a recently refurbished hotel. We were acknowledged as Reward Club Members and told that we had complimentary waters waiting for us in the room, although they were nowhere to be found. Overall a nice hotel, but a few extra dollars in the refurbishment would have gone a long way in making this a 5-star Holiday Inn Express. June 16, 2014
