The rooms are fine, the breakfast and happy hour as good as anywhere. Internet access is so simple. The hotel is well maintained. Why would I stay anywhere else? October 21, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as expected Breakfast was fine although there could be a little more elbow room. Called ahead to ensure there would be a refrigerator in the room to store my insulin in. I was told there would be one. When I checked in there was none. I asked the front desk and was told I would have one the next morning. By the next evening there was still none. I inquired again and was told I had to wait until someone checked out to get one. Finally got one on the second afternoon. It looked like they gave me the one out of the maintenance office. It was all dinged up and had black sharpie markings all over it. I was not a happy camper. October 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service, rock hard bed The staff at this hotel is amazing. They are very friendly, helpful, and efficient. If you like rock hard beds and mediocre breakfast, then this hotel is for you. We went to a family wedding and decided to treat ourselves to a hotel the night of the wedding instead of driving home that night. We should have just driven home, we would have gotten more sleep. I was awake all night and my mom ended up sleeping in the chair. Not exactly a comfortable nights sleep. October 9, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfie bed and great location After a long day, having the hotel nearby was a bonus. The bed and room ambiance allowed me to rest comfortably. Clean room and bathroom with excellent Bath and Body Works products. Extensive selection of TV channels made for entertaining viewing as I wound down. A variety of breakfast foods, including yummy pancakes from a pancake machine, were available to get my day started. Pre-prepared omelets, sausage and bacon were good - next best thing to homemade. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good experience on an overnight stop Express hotels are becoming my favorite for these trips, to the extent that I have a choice. They can be relied on to be quiet, clean, friendly and affordable. The only problem was the pillows but that has become pervasive, surprising since so many people are allergic to feathers. I have begun taking polyester ones with me since I cannot assume that non-allergenic ones are available - so if a person cannot tolerate feathers, be aware. Otherwise, this was an excellent experience since the feather-pillow issue is common to all major hotel chains these days. September 4, 2014

Great location near restraunts and retail on Collins to the East. Adult Beverage reception is a nice touch. One request.......fix/replace/update the treadmill. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Breakfast and Hot Tub The breakfast experience at this hotel was fantastic. The choices were very fresh and diverse. The best part was the professional and outgoing manager in charge of the room and food. She was so outgoing, friendly and helpful. She answered everyone of our questions and showed how to use all the appliances including the pancake machine. She was a joy to be around. Most Holiday Inns have moved away from offering a hot tub in their pool areas. I am not sure of the reasoning but it was a joy to find one in this hotel. It was clean and very therapeutic and relaxing. Thank you from a tired and sore traveler. September 2, 2014

Selection of fast food nearby and one decent restaurant close. Not far from downtown St Charles, but not within walking distance. September 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pay for Fridge? I stayed here last week and had a fridge and microwave, so I Stayed here again this week, I found out that not all rooms have fridge and microwaves. Book says you can get one on a first come basis for $20 a day fridge and $15 a day microwave. This is unacceptable. Get with the times and get these items in the rooms for free. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very busy Our stay was great as usual. The only problem was the breakfast. She could not keep up with all the people who wanted to eat that morning. There was at least six vans of young people staying there that night before. Couldn't the staff tell her what was going on so she could be prepared for such a large amount of people that would be eating. We had no hot food to pick from. August 19, 2014

Walls and doors are paper thin, I'd probably have slept better in my car. Why not stagger their rooms on several floors, or at least to a better job compelling them to be quiet. August 18, 2014

They had what I needed, and the staff was about as friendly as I have had at a HIX hotel. They were first class, and for me, if the staff is great, then I tend to overlook anything else I might see as not so great. In other words, great stay, and I'd easily stay here any time. I wouldn't even bother with trying other hotels, but that's how I operate - find something I love and stick with it. August 11, 2014

I have stayed at this hotel at least 6 times over the last year and the staff is excellent and friendly. This stay I was just plain annoyed that the pillows, they were queen size, in regular size pillow cases. It looked tacky and was annoying to get comfortable with. Mostly because let's face it you change the pillow cases but not the pillows on a daily bases so to use a pillow not covered fully with a pillow case is just gross! August 8, 2014

I was very pleased with the Holiday Inn Express and surprised at the level of service provided. If I'm in the area in the future, I will definitely use again, great service and value. August 8, 2014
