Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Everything awesome
So, here's the scoop. The reason Holiday Inn Express is my brand of choice is because of THIS hotel. Everything is first rate; breakfast, staff, cleanliness of room, internet, etc. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING to complain about. The staff at the front desk ALWAYS have the answer to anything...where do you recommend eating dinner, can I check in early, etc. Started staying at HIE nationwide because of my experiences at THIS hotel. No other hotel has equaled this one in terms of overall experience and service.

Everyone at the hotel seems very focused on customer service.
The only problem I encountered was the wake up call system was annoying. It was hard to confirm whether it had accepted my request (it's an automated system), and it executed the wake up call 35 minutes earlier than I had set it. This happened on both days of my stay. I did not report the wake up time inaccuracy to the staff, however. I guess it wasn't important enough for me to make a fuss over. After all, 35 minutes early is much better than if it had been 35 minutes late, which would have made me miss my appointment.

This review may seem petty, but its my experience. I was in town for a conference at another nearby hotel. (Actually a 13 hour "powerhouse" meeting). My employer was going to pay for me to stay at the hotel of the conference for much cheaper. I chose to stay at this Holiday Inn because I knew I would need to de-stress after the conference and this hotel had a hot tub. I knew the money would have to come out of my own pocket.
I didn't check into the hotel until after 8:30PM. I quickly learned the hot tub wasn't working. I had been looking forward to this all day. I had even bragged to my fellow conference peers. No hot tub or de-stress for me. The desk clerk gave me a mini bag of stale peanuts to try to make me feel better. I was obviously very disappointed.
The room was clean for the most part, but I did find a hair on the bed and a quarter on the floor.
The bed was hard and a bit uncomfortable but the pillows were very nice.
The breakfast was your typical pre-made frozen and reheated hotel breakfast food. Definitely nothing to brag about.
My biggest disappointment was the hot tub. I paid extra just for this and didn't get it. That alone left me feeling just "so-so" about my whole experience.

Stay here frequently for business over the past ten years and the ENTIRE staff has been consistently friendly, professional and competent across that lengthy span. Very pleasant being able to anticipate a warm welcome each time I return.

This hotel was above what I was expecting. The rooms were extremely clean. The staff was excellent. The rates were reasonable and we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra charge. I would definitely stay here again if I am anywhere near the Dayton, Ohio area. I was also surprised at how crystal clear the pool and hot tub water was, and how clean and fresh the pool area was. Very nice place to stay!

Good stay. Night time front desk and all of the housekeeping folks were some of the friendliest we have encountered. The breakfast buffet was well serviced and the pool area was well maintained. Couple of improvements could make this a great stay: Another washer/dryer would be a help and was surprised to have to go scrounge quarters to run them; the daytime front desk folks didn't make me feel valued at all; in fact, felt like I was putting them out.
