We enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping and maintenance team! Our room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast (included) was good and there were a good number of choices to suit almost anyone! We were within walking distance of the Citadel, which was lovely to walk around ( My husband is a graduate of Virginia Military Institute so he especially enjoyed seeing how another military school looks in 2015). There was a free trolley/bus which could be boarded closeby and go into the old towne area of Charleston. The Ashley River is also close, and theres a pretty park you can walk to as well. We could not see the Ashley River from our room or the front of the hotel, so don't expect to have a River view.

We arrived Sunday afternoon and was greeted by the front desk staff. The daytime staff were very helpful and quick to accomplish any task. However, the next morning was a different story. I went to check out at 0600 to the front desk (did not receive invoice under door). At the front desk was a young man and a woman in training. The young man was taking care of two young ladies to check in or making additional reservation (not sure). But he was totally engrossed with them. After about five minutes waiting, he asked what I needed and I said to check out. So he attempted to check me out and still take care of the girls. I was checked out ten minutes later and he was still entertaining the two girls. I noticed the invoices on the counter not delivered to the rooms and on my way out I took a paper from the stack just outside the door. The night staff must have been very busy.
