I was so impressed with the two girls that worked the Front Desk. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location for the price. My boyfriend and I stayed for one night to visit the aquarium. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great. If you enjoy walking, it's an easy walk to the aquarium, just under a mile. It's not in the dead center of town, but still in close vicinity to everything. Staff was very polite. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Unbelievable service after a freak incident. The only thing I wish is that they had a restaurant. If you don't have a car the nearest restaurant is a few blocks away, but it's work the walk. I highly recommend this hotel. Particularly because it is exactly as described, and the room is beautiful. The only wish I have is that they leave one of those cards on the bed offering housekeeping service or allowing you to decline housekeeping. I was there for several nights and housekeeping doesn't come every day, which is fine. I just wish I had known ahead of time. December 12, 2013

It was not fixed throughout the 3 night stay nor was I asked if I would like to change rooms. I was able to shut the door when I left during the day but it required a lot of force to pull shut. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Chattanooga Stay We had called approximately 1 hour before arriving around 6:00 p.m. We thought the process would be easy, it wasn't. The staff had "misplaced" our reservation and, since no confirmation # was provided to us, we had to re-register, even though she had taken a card # to hold our room. Fortunately, the room was still availabale when we arrived (she had placed the room under another guest's portfolio". We entered the room and there were cobwebs on the lamp shades, hair in the sink and tub and after I showered the bathroom floor made the soles of my feet black. The next morning I mentioned this to the manager and, after some prodding, she gave us some IHG points. Good location. Breakfast was fair. November 18, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convience was the plus Called directly to hotel 16 hours prior to arrival, told full up. HIE website showed rooms avaibale but no refund, booked At midnight counted 48 cars in parking lot, no tour buses. I questioned the night desk staff when I checked in why a $3.00 parking charge when signs say "Courtesy Parking", no cameras, guard, security. He copped an attitude, snarled his face, provided no answer. I concluded just gouging the guest. Room was quiet, clean, but sparse on towels. Cold night and no extra blanket found in the room. Bathroom sink fixture was very loose, not cauked onto countertop. Outlet on lamp at bedside did not work so had to pull heavy endtable out to connect cell phone for charging, second alarm. Breakfast was great with diversity and the staff did a good job keeping up with teak volumes. Front desk staff was dressed in warmups, T-shirt, and a hoody hardly the professional immage I would think HIE wants to leave their customers with. Took her a real long time to print my receipt, with much attitude shown, she was put out as I took her away from her school book it appeared. Convience the best reason to stay here but you pay dearly for it. November 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Very Good! While it's true that this hotel isn't that close to downtown attractions, we chose it because the price was much better than nearer ones. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating, which is a big plus. The girl at the desk when we arrived gave me maps and brochures and answered my questions promptly. When we got up to the room, we did a bed check as we always do in hotels and unfortunately found that the sheets were full of hair. The perplexing thing is that they smelled very clean and fresh. When I went back to the desk, I was told that they'd probably been washed with bath towels, hence the hair. Still, I was cheerfully moved to the room next door, and we actually liked the layout of that room better, and the bed was perfect. Everything was very clean and the towels smelled fresh. Breakfast the next morning had plenty of choices to offer; I enjoyed my biscuits and sausage gravy. They also had cinnamon rolls. The business center was convenient since my laptop died a cruel death at our last stop, and the front desk staff won points when they told us we could leave our car in the lot after check out so we could walk to the shuttle and go to the aquarium-- without charging another day's parking. Definitely pleased with our experience. November 6, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not really downtown - on a busy road We booked this hotel thinking it was downtown on the shuttle route. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to get to a shuttle stop and our room was about 50 feet from a busy road, so it was noisy at night. The fire alarm went off in our room about 11 pm the first night, so that had to be fixed. The one went off in a neighbors room about 7am the next morning. We weren't too impressed with the staff, but they did give us 1000 points on our priority club account. The breakfast was great and the room was wonderful, but we probably wouldn't stay here again. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fine for one night I only needed to stay one night prior to a race. Good points: room was fine although it did smell a bit like cigarette smoke. Bathroom was spacious though the tubs could use an upgrade. Hotel was clean and parking was awesome. The cleaning lady I happened to see in the hallway was very friendly. Bad points: front desk staff was not friendly. Not outright rude but definitely lacked smiles and general appeal. Walls were kind of thin. I could hear conversations next door as well as their TV. Luckily they were asleep quickly. The breakfast was disappointing because they didn't serve it early enough for me to get anything before the race. Overall it was fine but there are much nicer and friendlier hotels in Downtown Chattanooga that I would recommend. October 8, 2013

Only issue was my room the last night was on the 2nd floor on the front of the property. Road noise. My first few days were on a higher floor. No noise issues. Checked out and had to check back in for 1 night. Ask for a higher floor or the back of the property. September 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom the gorund fault 4 outlet in bathroom did not work. Found out when i tried to plug iron in, in the morning, and iron did not work. Thought it was the iron and told front desk about it. The lady said I should have reset the breaker. I don't think that is my resonsibility. If I would have used the outlet at night, I proabably would have tried that. I thought it was the iron. August 26, 2013

The location was great for us as we moved our freshman student into college at UTC. Although located a few blocks from the immediate downtown this was a straight shot to UTC campus. We enjoyed our breakfast outside in the courtyard. The complimentary parking was also nice. August 23, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, clean room. Nice breakfast buffet. We had no idea where to stay in Chattanooga so we chose this hotel blind. We were five minutes from downtown and UTC. Room was clean. Breakfast was very good. We were very pleas. Note that you do have to pay to park downtown. It was only $2 however. It is too far to walk especially with children. August 5, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 No internet service I talked to the front desk staff on two occasions explaining that I was not able to get internet service in my room. On both occasions they seemed quite uniterested in my problem and never took care of it. I checked into the hotel on a Sunday afternoon and checked out on a Monday morning, and for the entire duration of my stay, I had on internet service and was unable to conduct business.
