Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Will not stay here ever again
After driving 12 hrs. from D.C., I was looking so forward to spending the night in the scenic Smokey mountains and a wonderful bubble bath. When we checked in, our room faced a large warehouse, the worst possible view to be in a place know for its scenery. I asked the front desk agent if there was any other room available with a better view and he replied that the other floors were under renovation and there was not. A few hours later, when I went to go take my bubble bath that I was so longing to take, when I turned on the bath water, dirt came up from the drain and the drain was broken, so that even if I would have gotten clean water, it would not have stayed in the tub. I went downstairs and asked again for another room or if we could be moved to another Holiday Inn, I said that I was a gold member and I would love any consideration. The desk agent said " I should not be telling you this, but a pipe did burst today so we are having problems with the other bathrooms. In other words he knew this when he gave me that room. I was then moved to another room. In the morning for breakfast, our view was of a dumpster.
I regret that I was not forwarned that this hotel was being renovated when I made my reservation. It is unfortunate because I have to drive to D.C. several times during the year and this would have been a perfect stop.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by cp77429 Poor service and untrained staff
The front desk need to be trained on how to print an invoice and at least know how to change the ink in the printer. I received an invoice at checkout that was not legible due to the printer being out of ink. I asked the person at the desk to print me a new one and they could not because they did not know how to change the toner or print the invoices or so I was told. My Priority Club number was not on my invoice either. I also asked that this be corrected and was told again that they did not know how and I would need to call back later to get this fixed. I called back later that day and was told that I would need to request for missing points on line as my invoice was already closed out and they could not correct the issue. I have now submitted two missing points requests to the IHG web site and have yet to get an e-mail reply on this issue. So far poor service at all levels.

Well, to start off the king size bedroom suite was described as having a "wall" separating the king size bedroom from the sofa area. I would not describe a partition of less than 6 inches from an area as a wall. As a "gold" member I also reserved a room for two adults and two children. I expected the sleeper sofa to be made when I entered the room. Guess I was wrong. Had to go to the front desk to get linens and pillows to make up the sofa sleeper. Hotel was loaded with some type of large group consisting of children. Swimming pool area was packed until the group's leader yelled that there would be pizza in another room to eat. Set the alarm to get downstairs prior to the children's group so I could get a decent morning meal. Sleeper sofa next to the wall that housed the elevator motor proved to be very noisy.

We stayed during spring break (April 2013) with our 2 kids. The location is close to all the tourist attractions. The breakfast was good and the kids enjoyed the indoor pool. My only comment would be that the hotel needs a bit of updating but I think they have begun that process as I saw a sign that said "Excuse Our Mess..." I think that maybe that was occuring on a floor below us (we stayed on 3). It was an excellent value for the money and the staff was friendly. Also there is a Cracker Barrell across the street!

It seemed adequate from the outside. But the housekeeping staff had sticky fingers. Management sided with housekeeping, told me my wedding rings must have fell down the drain. Rather odd considering my rings were on the opposite wall, they must have grown legs and walked across the room and jumped down the sink.
Had to fill a police report was a major bummer to the whole vacation. As for the hotel remodel it was only partial; new bath vanity but old stained tile and tub; fresh paint sagging old beds. recommend staying somewhere else

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BeachTime Just what we were looking for...
We decided to head back from Florida a day early since the weather was bad, so we made the reservations at 1:00 in the afternoon on our way back to Indiana. The person who took our reservation said that it was the last room and by the looks of the parking lot when we arrived at 9:30 p.m., he was right. The hotel was undergoing some mild renovations...no noise or mess though. The hotel overall was quite, beds were comfy and rooms were clean. We were able to get a good night sleep to continue our trip in the morning. The breakfast was good...eggs, sausage gravy and biscuts. And those cinnamon rolls...I could live off those things!
Here's my only compaint...I'm the type that likes the constant hummm of hotel room AC units. Usually puts me right to sleep. This one had an annoying rattle to it. Not much of a complaint, and the cinnamon rolls more than made up for it.
Oh yeah...did I mention the cinnamon rolls.
