I enjoyed my time at the hotel here. Location is excellent to walk and explore. The staff was nice, the room clean and enjoyable. Only issues were a mix up with laundry (and laundry was expensive). Breakfast options great, wonderful to stay there almost a week and call it home!

Another good visit to Cheltenham. As always, the accommodation was very clean and the breakfast was adequate and in some cases excellent. The staff were great, as always, and couldn't have been more polite or helpful. Two things spoilt our stay - the very uncomfortable bed and the crazy toaster in the restaurant. Sort these two out and you have got a total winner! Will keep coming and hope to be able to report success soon.

Enjoyed a 1 night stay at holiday inn express, very satisfied with experience from simplicity of booking. Staff extremely friendly and efficient. Room clean comfortable.

NCP car park £25 for the week, using car every day (hotel gets discount for shorter stays)
Good sausages at breakfast, although fruit choice was sometimes limited

Whilst apprehensive about staying here, I should not have worried, the staff were very helpful including the deputy manager who was gracious and helpful to all my requests, even toast at 8pm.

We have a stopover at Holiday Express 2 or 3 times a year on our way from our home in the Lake District to visit our son and family on the south coast.
We are always delighted by the excellent reception service and speedy allocation of our room. Al the rooms we have experienced have been immaculate, with comfortable beds and quiet.
The added bonus in this hotel is the inclusive breakfast. Although we do not eat a cooked breakfast, out of choice, there is a very adequate selection which provides an excellent continental version.
The car park is very convenient and never overcrowded. The hotel provides a discount ticket for overnight parking.
We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

A great place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Cheltenham.
Discounted parking available too. But the true brilliance is the great staff that work there. Also nice snack/hot food menu that runs 24hrs a day. We liked Holiday Inn Express and would definately recommend it if you are in the area.

Ideal location, welcoming and friendly staff, excellent facilities and definitely a place to recommend to others. The accomodation was very clean and staff extremely helpful, we will certainly return, sooner rather than later!

Lovely hotel with great choice of nearby eating places.
We had a problem with the heating -
Fan only worked on full power. Therefore very noisy. Adjusting switch on wall made no difference. So we switched to 'off ' on wall.
Suffering a cold room rather than a noisy one. Then in middle of night fan suddenly came on again on full power. Even though wall switch was in off position. Hardly slept at all.
Discovered in morning that we could have switched unit off high up on wall next to unit.
Very poor nights sleep, Our son was in an important sporting tournament so was affected by lack of sleep unfortunately.

Very impressed by the staff at reception and bar. However the choice at breakfast was very limited. No bacon and and no fried eggs.

I could enjoy the stay.
The room was comfortable and had enough space.
I got discount a restaurant very near the hotel.
In the night, I enjoyed drinking at hotel bar.
Besides, breakfast was also good!
However, I forced to wait approximately 10 minutes to get toothbrush, because there are little staff around 10 pm.

Really impressed with the gentleman who checked me in, very professional manner and should have a great career in front of him. Room was spacious clean and smartly decorated. Situated perfectly for Cheltenham town centre (within 15 mins walk)

Once again, and not for the last time we had a great stay at HIE Cheltenham. Check-in was handled efficiently and staff are helpful regarding parking and restaurant discounts. The room is pleasant, fresh smelling and well ventilated, yet warm enough. The bathroom is very well designed and having a walk in shower is so much better than having to clamber in and out of a bath. Sleep was undisturbed and breakfast fresh hot and varied. The location is great for the town centre and there is entertainment and a good variety of restaurants close by. I will recommend and and definitely stay again.

Stayed in the Holiday inn express recently, great location within easy reach of main shopping area, right next to the Brewery complex with its many restaurants. Hotel is basic but good we had room overlooking the front of Hotel, big mistake!! windows have poor quality double glazing with a painted out single glaze opening window, up all night listening to traffic and people singing on the street corner at 3am. Best idea to ask for room in back of Hotel. will use again.

I've stayed here before and had excellent service, attention and facilities.
This time, comparatively disappointed :-
1. There wasn't an additional blanket available for the bed - A particularly cold night and unfortunately my wife prefers cold to warm, unlike me.
2. Only sufficient teabags, sugar and milk for ONE cuppa: pretty mean given the £120 plus room charge.
3. Booked on- line and given a cost which I confirmed as acceptable but which suddenly increased by £40 when I booked in.
4. Arrived for breakfast 30 mins. before deadline: Overcooked cold sausages (skins so though my knife couldn't cut them), cold, coagulated baked beans, cold scrambled eggs and COLD PLATES!!!:
5. Second morning I had to ask for eggs as there weren't any. What happened to the English breakfast? Where was the bacon, tomatoes hash browns e.t.c...?
6. Staff very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, your manager is a bully who loudly and quite brutally intimidated his people in front of the guests. Behind closed doors in an office is the more acceptable way for all concerned, including your clients.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Cheltenham HIE.
Breakfast choice has improved greatly since our last stay in a HIE, though on the Sunday morning food was running out, as well as plates, glasses and knives. Not very well organised even though we were told that Sundays were always the same!
On arrival our room had a very 'musty' smell, which meant we had to keep our window open. But when we mentioned this to reception it was dealt with.
As a family room, it was rather cramped, there was vitually no storage space, and we had to live out of our bags for 2 days.
More of a corporate hotel than family.
Despite the negatives, we did enjoy our stay, and would return.

We were impressed with the hotel. Staff were courteous and efficient at check in and check out. The rooms were warm and comfortable. I'm always cold and it was good to be able to control the temperature - and have the option of an opening window. The bathroom/loo door design is clever! Breakfast was good and the breakfast room and outdoor terrace area very pleasant to be in. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn a number of times before and always been happy with service, room etc. Very convenient for my business trips and location means you have Cheltenham town centre on your doorstep of an evening.
I particularly like the link up with some of the establishments within the Brewery complex opposite which means you get discounted prices at some of the restaurants and free use of the extensive facilities in the Fitness First gym.

Close to the centre of Cheltenham with a lot of very local Restaurants (most of which you get a discount with if staying at the HI Express) in the 'Brewery complex, this hotel is really good value.
We were greeted by friendly Reception staff and the room was clean and comfy. Nice little touches too like proper soap dispensers (not just a squeezy Dove bottle like some HI Expresses#.
Only downside was breakfast - not the food, but the lack of staff especially when some things had run out and needed replenishing. That said, I have fed back to the hotel, so I'm sure that it will be addressed.
Other than that, as stated before, its a really nice hotel #don't let my comment above put you off, as it might have just been a short staffed weekend!)
