The location is great, right across from casino. Room was very clean and of course the bed was comfy.
Breakfast was all you could ask for, plenty of variety. Lots of good coffee.
It is just a short drive into town to visit the shops but parking is
Had a great time, looking forward to going back and would most certainly stay here.
Thanks to everyone at the hotel for all you do to make our stays so pleasant.

I wanted to stay at Cherokee casino for the evening and they were full. This hotel was within walking distance so I thought I would give it a try.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient. I enjoyed my brief stay.

Hotel was adequate for the reason for our stay. The only reason they can charge a lot per night is because of the proximity to Harrah's Cherokee Casino. It is within walking distance to casino. Room was large and adequate. The problem is with the service. Check-in clerk was disinterested in anything. She did not say anything about my IHG memebership.Just checked us in and sent us on our way. No directions to room or nothing. Breakfast was a problem. Clerk working the area was not friendly at all. Housekeeping girls came in and ate some of the offerings. My wife saw one housekeeper pick up food with her bare hands. Signs say please use tongs.At 10:00,service was shut down with people in line.The clerk shut everything off,wheeled stuff into the back and went to break. One guy had to get the manager to unlock juice dispenser. Coffee was empty. If the clerk is going to break, leave the stuff out. The service is very poor at this hotel. Maybe management should step up and fix this problem. If it is going on one day it is happening on every other day.

Front desk staff was not very knowledgable of whats around the hotel with the exception of the Casino.
Housekeeping staff were very friendly and did a great job.

When we checked in the two gentlemen that where at the counter where very friendly and helpful and cheerful. Room was not vacuumed bathroom still had hair on the floor bed was uncomfortable. The breakfast was about all that was good. They're were two ladies working there the one white lady was very nice that other lady was rude she didn't smile or make you feel welcomed she was sitting there eating breakfast I thought that it was for the customers I guess I was wrong.I spilt some cereal and she actually made me sweep it up myself. That is one hotel I will not stay at again. And I visit Cherokee a lot .

Our room was a last minute reservation, but we had put in the comments that we really preferred a non-smoking room with a king bed (reservation was for 2 doubles in a smoking room). When we arrived to our room, it was a king bed but REAKED of cigarette smoke -- to the point that when we got home the next day our clothing that we had worn to bed still smelled like a cigarette! I was unable to sleep because the smell permeated the bedding and curtains (at one point I had moved to the chair to sleep, hoping it would be better). We were literally only in the room to sleep (so were at the hotel for about 8 hours) and I did not say anything to the front desk because we had been told when we called to reserve that they were booked, so I'm not sure if they could have done anything anyway -- I wonder if any of the rooms were non-smoking...
The hotel is very close to Harrah's, which was convenient in that we walked there (just across the street) and it was raining, but we didn't have to worry about parking. Room has very nice furnishings and was very neat/tidy, just smelled.

THE LONG DARK HAIR GIRL AT THE FRONT DISK WAS DISCOURTEOUS,IMPOLITE,RUDE. NOT HELPFUL, TALKED DOWN TO ME IN RUDE, GET OUT OF HER HOTEL. ALL SHE WOULD SAY IS CHECK IN IS 4:00 3 TIMES. SAT OUTSIDE AND SMOKED INSTEAD OF CHECKING FOR CLEAN ROOMS.
SHE IS NOT A POSITIVE EMPLOYEE FOR YOUR BUSINESS.

Front desk staff, David, was excellent. He went above and beyond to ensure our room was satisfactory, we had what we needed (extra towels and bedding as we were four adults). Also, he helped us with local info (restaurants, stores, etc).
Hotel was clean, well maintained, and great location (right across from Harrah's Casino). Would definitely stay there again.

Upon arrival for check-in, there was no one at the front desk. I waited...knocked on the counter...shouted 'Hello' a few times. Nothing. The front desk phone was ringing the whole time. After about 10 minutes a guest was exiting the hotel, saw me, and said 'They are probably out front'. We went out the front door, and he pointed to a young woman and man sitting on a bench smoking cigarettes. I said I needed to check in, the woman said OK and followed me in. She jokingly said 'You must have snuck by' - and started the check in process. I mentioned the how the phone has been ringing the whole time I was there. She said it was OK, it didn't matter, they were sold out anyway. Wow - how's that for customer service!!
Room was below average for a HIE. Carpet, chair with obvious stains. Loose, cracked tiles in bathroom, tub/shower unit loose - shifted and wobbled under your weight. AC unit fan rubbed against something, made a continual tick-tick.
Breakfast had usual HIE choices, just not enough of each item. The hot choices were not replenished when gone.
Not a bad hotel, below average for HIE, it is just obvious that with the casino across the street that they have a guaranteed source of customers and do not have to do much to sell rooms.

When checking in the first we heard from (I believe her name was Kayla) was: "Name?". I was quite taken aback that there was no 'Hello' or 'Welcome'. Staying at HI hotels a lot, I never had an experience like that. When asking questions regarding our stay - I heard answers like "I have no idea" "Don't know". Even if that is the case - I expect a follow up, like 'but let me find out or look into this'.
We were not happy with our stay there overall, in particular, because it was my husband's birthday and we wanted to enjoy the day and not get upset about rude customer service.
We cancelled the reservation for our second night and moved somewhere else.

My wife and I went for our 1-year anniversary. We had a king non-smoking room. My wife loved the king bed's comfort. Complimentary breakfast was standard Express and was good. Plenty to choose from. One staff member told me I had to wear shoes... I was wearing socks. First time I did that and didn't know I had to wear shoes... opps :)
Biggest complaint- Wi-fi was poor. Signal qualtiy poor/fair and on one day I could not use it. I understand wi-fi and told the front desk. They were to contact their service company as it's outsourced. I was on first floor near front desk.
I may have expected too much but I mentioned that it was my 1-year anniversary. It would have been nice for the hotel manager to comp us an upgrade to king suite. Yes, I am a Plat. member.
Front desk person ignored my comment. Oh well...
Some front desk staff were very friendly...others very unfriendly, too business-like in attitude.
We were there for Harrah's gambling experience so hotel is very close...within walking distance for some folks. Clean and nice...
Oh... in a king room you do not get a fridge or microwave. that comes in king suite only. I have stayed at numerous Express and this was first time. I asked why... was told it's not a corporate hotel... franchised and owners chose not to provide fridge/microwave in non suites. This is a bit cheap in my opinion.
In-house fitness room is, as others have commented, a joke. Two treadmills and a bike!!
Pool is nice and enclosed. Small but cozy.

Nice alternative to the casino hotel & is walking distance to it for the gamblers. Decent Room, comfortable bed with good free breakfast. Nothing much to do in area at night but go to casino. Smoky Mountains are beautiful. HIE delivers, casino didn't.

Pros: Easy check in, large suite, AC cooled room quickly.
Cons: Room phones did not work (not even a dial tone), no bedsheets for the pull out sofabed, lost money in the vending machine, hallways wreaked of cigarette smoke
I would recommend this hotel to someone wanting to be right in Cherokee but probably not to someone just passing thru the area.

I feel that that hotel needs to be updated. I travel for a living and stays in the IHG properties and the furniture and carpet needs to be replaced. The staff is great but put the money in the upgrade. Since I am a Priority member, I feel that we should get a little something extras for staying... like water, fruit, or snacks in a gift bag or something.

This was so close to the casino it was like staying on the property. Very easy access. Also, when I arrived I was placed in a smoking room. Not that big of a deal but I don't smoke. The desk clerk did some keyboard tapping and next thing I knew I was in a non smoking king suite!

We love HI Expresses.. We always stay with HI Express.. With that being said, the hotel ran out of towels, we had to use pool towels, the sofa bed was broken, so we had to get a roll-a-away, and our shower curtain rod was coming off the wall, and thus the curtain remaining in the center of the rod and the bathroom floor being soaked because of it. At breakfast, which is generally very good, was far below expectation. The pancakes were out and not refilled during the 45 mins we were down there, a lot of pastry items were also missing, and it was not very tidy. Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel, the only perk was it was in the right place hen we broke down, however in hindsight, we should have stayed in Dillsboro, Va. It was also very close to the main road and it was very noisy outside, and for whatever reason, could be easily heard in our room.

The front desk staff was not friendly. We were not given any information about what time breakfast was or anything else regarding the hotel amentities. Did not like the fact that the smoking area was right at the front entrance to the hotel. Your cleaning staff was eating pizza that was on their cart with the cleaning supplies. Could use more seating in the breakfast room for the amount of people that stay in the hotel. Your hotel staff needs to be trained to provide better customer service and be more professional. Cleaning staff needs to do better job of cleaning rooms. Only seemed to skim over the surface and not do a thorough job.

I never wright reviews but this Hotel is aweful. I left a tip for housekeeping they did not make the bed, they did not vacuum, and they did not clean the bathroom. However they did manage to take the tip. Dust was very thick on the curtains. Bad stay!

Front desk at check in wasn't typical warm welcome...did not inform about breakfast. Bathroom was dirty, shower curtain mildewed and bathroom smelled like it was cleaned with dirty cloth or water. Room was not cleaned during stay, only bed made and towels changed, but room was not changed otherwise. Expected more from this hotel line. Location was good. Breakfast area needs more seating and needs more staff. Waited in a line for about 15 mins and then had no where to sit.

We had to pay to upgrade to a king suite since our reservation was not able to be met, didn't want or need it. The room was directly over the front entrance and across from the elevator. So all we heard all day and night long was the elevator and people outside our door, we also had to listen to the entry doors sliding open and closed under us all day and night and some alarm that would buzz every 3 to 7 minutes. We did get a great view of the front awning. Very disappointed.

Desk staff was Stand-Offish at best. Requested Extra Blankets for my wife for the bed and they smelled so bad of smoke had to return to front desk for replacements which smelled but not as bad. Front Desk never ask about member ship in Priority Club or status. Cleaning and Breakfast staff where great. Over all should have saved points and payed lesser amount to stay just down the road for 1/2 the price. Wouldn't stay again.

My family arrived late evening on June 9 sunday after driving from Charlotte NC and spending a rainy day at the Biltmore House estate. When the front desk clerk acknowledged my Priority Club status and saw my tired family with lots of luggages, he upgraded us to a suite without additional charge so as to provide more space. That was truly gracious hospitality. My family enjoyed the hot breakfasts (especially the cinnamon rolls, pancakes, biscuits with gravy) and the daily refreshed rooms and bath towels after hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain trails. We would have stayed longer than two nights if I had not made plans to drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway and explore its sites also which required us to stay at another HIE at Blowing Rock. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area.
