Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mistylynn623 It was there and we needed a hotel room
We love HI Expresses.. We always stay with HI Express.. With that being said, the hotel ran out of towels, we had to use pool towels, the sofa bed was broken, so we had to get a roll-a-away, and our shower curtain rod was coming off the wall, and thus the curtain remaining in the center of the rod and the bathroom floor being soaked because of it. At breakfast, which is generally very good, was far below expectation. The pancakes were out and not refilled during the 45 mins we were down there, a lot of pastry items were also missing, and it was not very tidy. Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel, the only perk was it was in the right place hen we broke down, however in hindsight, we should have stayed in Dillsboro, Va. It was also very close to the main road and it was very noisy outside, and for whatever reason, could be easily heard in our room.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ATS3 Unfriendly staff
The front desk staff was not friendly. We were not given any information about what time breakfast was or anything else regarding the hotel amentities. Did not like the fact that the smoking area was right at the front entrance to the hotel. Your cleaning staff was eating pizza that was on their cart with the cleaning supplies. Could use more seating in the breakfast room for the amount of people that stay in the hotel. Your hotel staff needs to be trained to provide better customer service and be more professional. Cleaning staff needs to do better job of cleaning rooms. Only seemed to skim over the surface and not do a thorough job.

I never wright reviews but this Hotel is aweful. I left a tip for housekeeping they did not make the bed, they did not vacuum, and they did not clean the bathroom. However they did manage to take the tip. Dust was very thick on the curtains. Bad stay!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ATS3 Check in staff unfriendly...room dirty
Front desk at check in wasn't typical warm welcome...did not inform about breakfast. Bathroom was dirty, shower curtain mildewed and bathroom smelled like it was cleaned with dirty cloth or water. Room was not cleaned during stay, only bed made and towels changed, but room was not changed otherwise. Expected more from this hotel line. Location was good. Breakfast area needs more seating and needs more staff. Waited in a line for about 15 mins and then had no where to sit.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DingSlide Horrable room location.
We had to pay to upgrade to a king suite since our reservation was not able to be met, didn't want or need it. The room was directly over the front entrance and across from the elevator. So all we heard all day and night long was the elevator and people outside our door, we also had to listen to the entry doors sliding open and closed under us all day and night and some alarm that would buzz every 3 to 7 minutes. We did get a great view of the front awning. Very disappointed.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by brittanyspn Bed/Carpet/blankets smelled like smoke
Desk staff was Stand-Offish at best. Requested Extra Blankets for my wife for the bed and they smelled so bad of smoke had to return to front desk for replacements which smelled but not as bad. Front Desk never ask about member ship in Priority Club or status. Cleaning and Breakfast staff where great. Over all should have saved points and payed lesser amount to stay just down the road for 1/2 the price. Wouldn't stay again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Charlottewedding Wonderful service and more than enough space
My family arrived late evening on June 9 sunday after driving from Charlotte NC and spending a rainy day at the Biltmore House estate. When the front desk clerk acknowledged my Priority Club status and saw my tired family with lots of luggages, he upgraded us to a suite without additional charge so as to provide more space. That was truly gracious hospitality. My family enjoyed the hot breakfasts (especially the cinnamon rolls, pancakes, biscuits with gravy) and the daily refreshed rooms and bath towels after hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain trails. We would have stayed longer than two nights if I had not made plans to drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway and explore its sites also which required us to stay at another HIE at Blowing Rock. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area.

Room was nice but had to wait to get into room aa batteries on door lock were to weak. Thankful was not late at night as was repaired right away.
Toilet would some times keep running after flush.
Sink stopper wouldn't stop water from draining out while trying to use.
Was hardly recognized as a priority member.
Great breakfast and attendant. kept items filled and good coffee.
Over all a good place to stay and would definitely stay again

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bet74 close to smoky national park,
front desk staffs are not friendly. check in person did not greet us, like we interrupted whenever he was doing head down. When ask about direction to the smoky national park, they just said we are from here and do not go to the park. Think we can get better direction from anyone on the street. Room furnishings are dated. Walls are thin, can hear people talked in hallway and baby crying next room. Person worked in breakfast is slow and ate breakfast and watched TV while there were guests around. We need to tell the person what items ran out ( like hot water/fruits). When there is no water in the cooler inside the gym, we told the front staff. He just said I do not know where are the water bottle kept, just drink water from the fountain. Guess he just lazy to bother to change water.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom lighting was also quite good. The pillows were lumpy, but we've come to expect that. The staff were quite friendly and facilitated both check-in and check-out efficiently. We were pleased with our choice of hotel in Cherokee.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nordlyset Cold Shower; Noise most of Night
Stay here if you like hallway noise from folks returning from the casino all night long. After a long, restless night, I had to endure a cold shower in the morning. No hot water in that shower.
This priority club member was not recognized at check-in or any other time of the stay, even though I reserved my room online as a priority club member.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jen017 Nice Place to Stay
This hotel is a nice place to stay and quiet rooms. Only negative we have to say is this is the only Holiday Inn Express we have ever stayed in that did not offer flavored coffee creamer. It was a surprise they did not have it and a disappointment to go without coffee.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Charlie54 Avoid ,unless you are going to the casino
Unless you are going to the casino or enjoy sleepless nights do NOT stay here. The walls are thin and you can clearly here TV and conversations through the walls.
The casino is the main attraction in Cherokee guests come and go at all hours and are very noisy.
Reception was poor when we arrived but dealt quickly in the morning to cancel the booking made for the second night.

Sorry, but we were very disappointed this stay.
First, we were not greeted as Priority Club Members AND staff wasn't as friendly as other Holiday Inn's that we have stayed at.
Second, the beds were a bit old.
Third the breakfast area was awfully crowded and a mess, but then the staff couldn't possibly keep up will all of us.

We have stayed here before, good location and friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and quiet, the bed was good better than many places. Breakfast was good, but room is way to small when hotel is full. Bathroom floor was dirty, but everything else way clean.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by vrf32 Terrible room
Having stayed at the Holiday Inn in Blowing Rock with my two grandsons twice in the past two years,we were very impressed. I chose the Cherokee Holiday Inn expecting the same kind of service. My son in law and I were looking forward to a great couple of days, instead our stay was the worse experience I have ever expected.Having suffered a heart attack and open heart surgery I was looking forward to a couple of days of rest and relaxlation. The people in the room next to us were up all night blasting the television and yelling and partying. We were unable to sleep our entire stay. Our room had only two towels to shower with, upon requesting more towels we were given one. The side of the mattress was stained with something we had know idea what it was, we will never stay at your Hotel ever again and we will recommend to our family and friends to never stay there either.A very disgruntled and disappointed customer.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Peachy24 Paper thin walls
Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, We chose this hotel because it was convenient to Harrah's, directly across the street.. When we tried to go to sleep at night, we could hear the TV in the room next to us, doors slamming up and down the hallway, people stomping across the floor in the room above us. If you are wanting to get a decent nights sleep, you need to stay elsewhere.

I am a Priority Club member and so stayed at this Holiday Inn Express for 3 days. I spent most of my time at the Harrah's Cherokee Casino and so can only comment on one thing. On the day when I was supposed to check out I requested a wake up call and though the front desk personnel told me it was all set, I never got a call. This made me miss my work and my heart medicine.
When I mentioned this to the front desk while checking out later at 1100 hrs, they just said it was too bad. This is inexcusable.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RTh62 Ants in bathroom
Bed was comfortable and room was nice. The first morning after our first night stay we notice ants crawling on the sink in the bathroom. When we reported it we were told that had been a problem in the past and it was thought to be taken care of. Evidently not! They did not have another handicap room to move us to we went ahead a stayed the second night since the room wasn't overrun with ants and other hotels we full. We were given a $20.00 discount for one of the nights. I hope they took care of their ant problem before the next guests came in. Also the room had no mini-fridge or microwave. The is the first place in a long time we haven't had the amenities.
I would recommend this hotel except for the ants.
