Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Chester This hotel is perfectly placed for chester and chester racecourse. The room had everything you needed, nice and comfortable, clean bathroom. The only issue we had was to get the heating on you had to put you key into a slot, therefore the room was cold when you returned as you were only given one key. Great view of the racecourse. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value, Location This hotel is ideal for a night out in Chester or for exploring the city and surrounding area. Its very centrally located and has plenty of local amenities with easy walking distance. Staff are very friendly and always willing to help in any way they can with no trouble or negative attitude which is a refreshing change to some hotel chains. The hotel has gone that little extra mile by getting extra discount arranged at the restaurants located at the racecourse, which give you the opportunity to bill your meals and drinks to your room. The guest rooms are a little small and the beds are a bit firm for my liking but that is just personal preference. February 25, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely hotel in an ideal location. We really enjoyed our stay at the Chester Holiday Inn Express. As a family of four, we were able to stay in the one room with the children using the sofa bed. which was all made up ready for our arrival. The extra bed didn't leave much floor space but the room was still very comfortable and ,most importantly, spotlessly clean. We also had a lovely view out over the racecourse. There was no bath in the bathroom, but the shower was roomy and powerful. All the staff we met wet very helpful, friendly and efficient. The cleaning staff, in particular, went out of their way to chat to the children. After a day of sightseeing, the bar area was a welcome place to sit and relax with a drink. Again, the reception and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a super hotel and I would definitely stay again. February 24, 2015

There were several occasions when there was considerable noise outside the room which went on until quite late.The noise was intermittent probably exacerbated by other members of the guests trying to make the noisy guests quiet.. I would be put off returning to the Holiday inn by this incident which was in all probability an isolated occurrence.. February 21, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BUSINESS TRAVEL The hotel is central for business in and around Chester. Ample free parking is always a bonus along with an early breakfast for a prompt start to the day. The staff are always friendly knowledgeable and welcoming. I would and do return often and look forward to using the hotel for leisure, possibly a day at the races sometime in the future February 16, 2015
