My husband was sent here to work for a week and I decided to go along just to get a relaxing week away from the six kids we have. It was so nice to be greeted everday with a smile by both the front desk and house keeping. Everyone was so nice and treated me as a friend rather then a client. The rooms were nice and relaxing and the staff was great. It's close to many great places to eat and shopping as well. I especially enjoyed the chocolate factory around the corner. I would stay there again for sure.

I advance-booked a room for last Thursday & Friday. We were going to attend a Tigers' game on Thursday and had a local wedding on Friday. However, my plans changed: Father-In-Law had open heart surgery and my Aunt died.
I had tried to change the reservation, but the person-on-the-phone-line stuck to her "corporate guns".
I reluctantly used one of the nights. I stopped by the front desk to check out and explain that the room would not be used the 2nd night. However, the front desk person, who seemed new on the job, was TOO busy with her phone conversation with an apparent manager/trainer. I stood there for a few minutes, but finally walked away...

I am a regular Holiday Inn customer and did recommend this property but was not very happy with the internet. Not only did I need to sign in the password every time my computer was restarted but it was an extremely slow connection. It reminded me of my old dial up AOL days! Every page loaded slow. I do not think it was the traffic load because it was the same at 4:00am.
The hotel itself was clean and the workout area was small but had good quality equipment. Breakfast was fine.

My sister and I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Chesterfield, Michigan approximately once a month during the summer months this year. I can't think of any way this hotel could make it any better or more relaxing after traveling quite a distance. I appreciate the wake up calls to get us on our way early in the morning. I recommend this Holiday Inn Express to any one traveling in this area. I only wish that they would put out a sign on Gratiot Avenue showing where the hotel is. We had to hunt for it the first time we came up last year and still have to keep a close watch for the sign out front that doesn't even list
the Holiday Inn Express on it. Hope you will correct that!!

Room was great. Staff was friendly and supportive of needs. Required an electrical outlet for my boat. The staff showed me locations and assisted in finding a convenient parking spot. The housekeeping crew did a fine job keeping the room clean.

Went on a last minute business trip with 3 customers and this place scored big points with all of us. Had a late check in and the front counter was speedy and efficient on getting us all settled. Quiet comfortable rooms, great breakfast, close to everything.

This stay was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and provided us with whatever we needed during our stay. Front desk was very attentive and provide e tea help when we required it. I would recommend this site to anyone.

I am a Priority Club member and stay at IHG properties weekly but first time at this location. Desk clerk did not inform me the elevator was out of service until after I checked in and was placed on the third floor. Well okay, I am fit enough and can handle it. Next I changed and headed to the fitness room. 90 degrees outside and almost as warm in the fitness room, the AC was out of service. Hmmm, decided to tough it out for a while anyway. Just as I really needed some water, I discovered the water in the fitness room was out too. Ugh!
Just a fluke or sign of local management? Don't know but will probably avoid the location if possible.

Most important it was clean, quiet and had everything I wanted at a reasonable price. I stayed in a queen suite. Breakfast was very good. I would stay there next time. Short walk to Twisted Rooster; very good place to eat, drink.

I always for some reason get charged multiple times when I stay, some of the staff up front are the reason I stay there 2-4 times a week but the ones who are not up to the companies standard ruin the stay because the manager tells you just to wait for them to fix it over a week later while its gone from your account but luckily one of the great staff members said she will do his job and get it fixed for me. Thank got for the 2 main employees that care abour repeat visitors like them or I wouldnt stay there and I have stayed in this hotel well over 150 times in 3 years between personal and work and also getting my employees under me to stay there as well. dont want to bash the place, jujst wish everyone was like the few who care about you when you come in.

From the reservation being made to the check out, this was an excellent stay. The staff of hotel went out of there way to make you feel welcome and glad to belong to the Priority Club. Trisha, Teresa and Joseph did an outstanding job, from making my reservation in person (Trisha), allowing me to see a room, and taking care of my requests while staying, (Teresa) The check out was seamless, conducted at the desk and most pleasant.(Joseph) All in all you should be proud of your employees, they took great care of this guest and my family!

Staff was friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable. I liked the Direct TV as opposed to Lodge Net service. Breakfast was the same as every othe Holiday Inn, time for some new options...maybe try adding some cheese slices so you can make a breakfast sandwich.

the first two nights we stayed were a friday and saturday. during this time there were many guests from a youth hockey league. these people both adults and children were totally out of control. the kids were running up and down the hallways and jumping up and down trying to touch the ceiling. the adults in the meantime were moving furniture out of rooms and into the hallway and partying there. they were also drinking very heavily. when i looked out our room door to see what was going on they moved out of the hallway and into a room to continue the party. many hotel employees were aware of this problem, but the disturbing guests just did not care.

Hotel had mulitple guests for hockey weekend and many parties starting and ending up in the hallways, with and including children races down hallways. My wife and I were not amused at the lack of attention given by staff in our room placement, and or the abscence of any staff monitoring to prevent and discontinue hall way olympics and parties.
I expected better control of these issues in a hotel.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay while I was up visiting and going to NAIAS! Fortunately for me, there were not many guests close to my location, so I slept like a baby!
Also, I carried my own pillow (a family heirloom) And LEFT it in the room. Do to the great service of staff, and my Brother-in-law still being in the area, I was able to get it back!
Special thanks to Joseph at the front desk and the housekeepers!.

Unfortunately I need to amend my last review. I needed to extend my fiancee's stay at this property so I did the same thing as last night by booking the room withn points, then calling the property and adding my fiancee to the reservation, letting them know that I would not be there. Spoke to a very nice lady that afternoon who added to the reservation and assured me that she would be well taken care of. My fiancee arrived just as the night person was coming on shift. This individual was the one the we all regret coming across. Rude and demanding the reason why I was not there, requiring a reason why points were being used for a leisure and not business, then proceding to give my fiancee the worst room on the property. The lady from the previous shift was clearly disturbed by the treatment toward a guest and tried to buffer this situation by offering amenities before she left. Because of the closeness of the property, we will continue to stay here unless we have to deal with this person. Hopefully management will address this issue but until then, this person is obvisly on some type of power trip and I would adviise priority club members to check in before 11PM.

Booked a room with points for my fiancee using points, then called the property and added her onto the reservation with no problems. Room was spacious with the only issue of low hunidity which is common for most hotels. Breskfast was fine, always nice to know what you are getting consistancy from property to property.

breakfast bacon very greasy and extremely thin. i can nearly see through it. a turkey bacon that is healthier would be great. eggs are good. pancake or waffle maker would be a bonus. we always enjoy are stays with your brand and always recommend it.
