Way too expensive for what you get. Tiny room. Packed breakfast. $49 for parking, and they emptied out my wife's coin purse. Disappointing. Losing faith in HIE brand.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sarah94 Very comfortable room for an affordable price
Reserved the Two Double Bed room a week before our stay. The price very affordable, in fact can be considered cheap. The beds were super comfortable, AC worked great, iron was provided, very clean bathroom, love the TV Channels provided, iHome for playing music and the view from inside the room.
However the food for breakfast were the same for two consecutive days. We were expecting different menus but they are all the same. (not much to be choose from). Please consider to provide more food more vegetarians.
Other than that it was a very great stay! Will definitely come again! Thank you for the pleasant service :)

For the past 15 or so years, a colleague and I have traveled to Chicago once or twice each year to attend conferences, typically spending about four nights each trip.
Over the years we have stayed at some poor hotels, and a few outstanding hotels, all within the same budget range per night's stay. As the economy dictates, our budget has increased over the years, but the group of hotels we select from has stayed pretty static.
This hotel is in a great area of the city, with lots of choices for dining and night life within walking distance.
The staff were great! Very friendly and accommodating, but the property is pretty old, and sadly the rooms are tiny compared to more modern hotels in the area. Air conditioning only operates when the room is occupied, which means the room is always uncomfortable when you enter, and unfortunately remains that way for an hour or three until the air begins to cool down. (This was late Sept, early Oct - not even Summertime!)
A tiny shelf above the bathroom sink is the only space offered to arrange one's toiletries, barely enough room for a tube of toothpaste and a razor alongside the soap and shampoo bottles provided by the hotel. The sink was clogged and slow to drain. A small "chest of drawers" inside the tiny closet is the only place to put ones clothes, and we had to turn sideways and slide past the bed to access it.
You will hear every voice, footstep and slamming door in the hallway outside, along with the wail of sirens from the streets below.
Overall, this hotel is about average, not the worst, but far from the best in the mid price range.

Just what I needed for a short stay in the city-the staff was great, and though the room was smaller than I expected, it was still just fine for what I needed.
