Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable room, great location, good breakfast I love staying at the Holiday Inn Express brand because the beds and pillows are so comfortable. This hotel location is very clean and warm. It's located literally right next to Midway and there are plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. The breakfast was a step up from the norm with eggs and pancakes as well as yogurt and fresh fruit. Will definitely stay here again when I am in town. December 10, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad memories Only reason it was memorable was because the room ended up being $15 more expensive than what my receipt quoted me. Not only a state tax but also a community tax?! RIDICULOUS also made it more frustrating to have to hear airplanes every 15 minutes. Don't really want to pay extra for that. Also the people in front of me in line were offered peanuts or doritoes but I was not. I'm usually very pleased with holiday inns, however I definitely wouldn't recommend this one. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pay for Parking? I understand the need to pay for parking if I was going to leave my vehicle for an extended period. But I was staying in the hotel for one night and leaving the next day. Parking should be free for each night that you are checked into the hotel. When I spoke with the front desk about it, I received "We charge everybody for parking." I was not going to argue with them because this is obviously either a franchisee or corporate decision. Right off the bat the staff was excellent and the room was great. The hotel is in a great spot with quick and easy access to the downtown area, not to mention plenty of places in the surrounding area to eat. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay close and comfortable to Chicago. November 27, 2013

The woman who made my reservation was most helpful despite the fact that I was having trouble hearing her because of background airport noise. She made the reservation and gave me the info so that I could be picked up at the airport when I landed about 12:30 AM. I spent a very restful night at the Holiday Inn Express, Chicago. The staff behind the counter fixed the reservation with no-hassles. Not only that, but when I asked about parking since we would be flying out-of-town for a week, he re-booked out room again with a parking pass and a discounted room package. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Our Anniversary stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Since this was our 17th Anniversary trip to Chicago and our first time to visit Chicago our stay at this facility was absolutely enjoyable and relaxing for us both since we had just driven from Houston Texas. The staff and hotel accommodations more than met our expectations for cleanliness and provided an excellent relaxed atmosphere. The location of the facility was just what we needed to acclimate ourselves to the change of environment and locale. There was just enough suburban familiarity to accommodate our extra necessities, that for some reason always appear when near a Wal-Mart facility. The varied area restaurants were highly accessible and visible to the hotel were wonderful assets as well. The travel to downtown Chicago to enjoy the attractions was easily accommodated via a timely transit vehicle that arrived and deposited us at the front door of the hotel was a wonderful, invaluable convenience for a couple of very mature visiting Texans. The only negative that we agreed upon was, the breakfast. After the third day of our five day stay the same breakfast menu had become a little too familiar to us. The biscuit and gravy portion of the meal definitely needs updating October 3, 2013

The staff is always welcoming, polite and professional taking care of you quickly and competently. The hotel is always clean and looks great from the lobby to each room. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient, comfortable, clean The hotel is located 5 minutes from Midway Airport, in a fenced-in campus of five major-brand hotels. The area is a bit run down but we felt safe in the fenced-in area. There are three restaurants on the property, including a very good Fridays. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the furnishings are new. We were able to relax easily and felt safe on the property. The breakfast main courses were not tasty; on the other hand yogurt, fruit, muffins, and cereals were provided and therefore one can get an adequate breakfast. Overall the hotel is a good value considering how expensive other hotels are in the Chicago area. I will definitely stay there again. September 27, 2013

The front desk clerk showed us three other room options and we selected a room that had an upgrade of a whirlpool tub. We had a great stay and were not charged a different price than originally due, even with the upgraded room. Would recommend this hotel to friends staying in the Chicago area. September 4, 2013

We were able to get into our room early and hit the Windy City relaxed knowing our stuff was in our room. The shuttle took us to the airport to catch the CTA into the city. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Service I am very irritated with this hotel. I made a reservation using my rewards points for this hotel and arrived at 3:00am. After waiting on the front desk clerk for 20 min to return to the desk from making her rounds I advised her of my reservation and she confirmed she had it. The hotel was descent for the short time we were there but my irritation grew from when I noticed they used my points and charged my bank card I had on file for the hotel stay. I spoke with the GM and she was able to identify the issue and advised she was sorry and would have it resolved. This is the second week and the $185.00 still have not been credited to my account. I was told I would receive points for the inconvenience and I still have not noticed the points. What was more irritating was when I spoke with the clerk that checked me in she told me I did not tell her I had a reservation I gave her my card. When those were the first words I told her and she told me that my name sounded familiar and she had my reservation. Really my past experience as a platinum member was when I arrive at a hotel and give my name they have the key and reservation already prepared. August 29, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff My husband and I booked a whirlpool suite recently for our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were amazing and the room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.... if you like a bed that is hard as a rock! The cost was significantly more than originally quoted, which was extremely dissapointing when you plan a trip within a "budget". I strongly encourage future patrons to contact your exact location where you plan on staying for the room rate, city and state taxes... and which "hotel package" you are REALLY eligible for prior to making your final destination arrangements. My secret is to unwind at the Holiday Inn before flights home. Free shuttle to airport, someone else fixing a warm breakfast and making the bed for me, what could be better! August 15, 2013

The shuttle service was extremely helpful and easy to find from the airport along with it's pick up outside each of the Midway Center Hotels. Once at the airport the train into the city was easy to find and an easy and quick right into the downtown loop. I would recommend staying at this location when flying into Midway to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. It couldn't have been better! August 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent place to stay before an early morning flight At the advice of a seasoned traveler, we were told it would be wise to stay overnight near Midway airport rather than making an early morning drive from Peoria. He recommended Holiday Inn Express. I am going to thank him for his wisdom when I next see him. Not only did it take the stress out of fighting traffic, the hotel offers a very reasonable shuttle service every twenty minutes from the front door. We will definitely repeat this decision for future trips out of Midway. Good hotel - good staff as well. August 12, 2013
